The 2010 Food Crisis Means Financial Armageddon

Via Market Skeptics - If you read any economic, financial, or political analysis for 2010 that doesn’t mention the food shortage looming next year, throw it in the trash, as it is worthless. There is overwhelming, undeniable evidence that the world will run out of food next year.

When this happens, the resulting triple digit food inflation will lead panicking central banks around the world to dump their foreign reserves to appreciate their currencies and lower the cost of food imports, causing the collapse of the dollar, the treasury market, derivative markets, and the global financial system. The US will experience economic disintegration.

I don't invest in my 201k anymore. I buy storable food on sale. I KNOW it's going to be worth more in the future, and I EAT every day!

the way I see it is with Iran constantly having that "IN your Face" tude on purpose..they prob are hoping to be attacked..counting on it maybe..I can see the gas prices going crazy if that happens..maybe even a shortage of oil as Im sure taking and holding on to the gulf will be one of Irans priorities..food prices skyrocket..electric,ng, and fuel oil prices will follow...buy food and a way to protect it!

It is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

It... nowadays can be a plethora of resources we now take for granted. Food is the one resource we cannot "sacrifice" for the sake of our current circumstances like we can beer, or cigarettes, or any other vice we choose to consume (at very alarming rates)I might add.

Without it we die. Water, well that is another crisis all by itself. Without it we die, sooner.

I am not sure what it will take for us to wake up to our true plight, yet my conversation with my girlfriend just now made me aware of how soon it should be...NOW!!

She just wants to live day by day, not worrying about tomorrow...these so called crisis' are events that COULD happen, so why worry until they do happen...well the obvious response is what bothered me and shook me the most.

Too late is too late.

Prepare, pray and be the change you want to see in the world! and mean it.

How silly. Food is a finite item, and there's only so much of it in the world? I'll agree there will likely be more shortages next year, and more the next. There will be famines in some locals. There will be problems with moving the food in others. But the food "Run Out?" So long as the cows keep dropping calves, and the chickens keep laying, and at least some of the crops keep coming up, it will not run out. Every area has cyclic problems, even disasters. But food will not simply cease to be.

I agree that this scenario is quite possible but a fool and their money are soon parted when they spend heavily on food hoarding. Spend a fortune on food and then when anarchy is born and this problem is shared by all, there will be countless numbers of hungry, roving gangs of the desperate who will invade your homes and relieve you of your precious booty. Then where will you be? THEN you will turn to God for your answers. Why not seek Him today?
