Thanks for your reply to the Christian trying to tell everybody to repent. This is a survival site and I came here to learn how to prepare, NOT to be preached at. I left Christianity many, many years ago because of the damage they've done to my family and me. And it's rare to ever see a TRUE Christian, one that actually lives by his beliefs. 90% of them don't.

Light week...
went through stock checking expiration date, and marking them easily visible with a Sharpie for easier future checks.
Continued exercises.
Ordered back-up Pocket Resuscitator (I'm AHA certified on advanced CPR. Also certified on basic first aid and preventing disease transmission (blood-borne pathogens).
Ordered 10 pack of 2g packages of Celox for med kit.
Ordered more waterproof matches (only $13.34 for 900 matches plus free shipping).
Picked up folders and dividers to place important information into and place in large baggie to protect against water damage.
Placed silver in bug-out-bag in case I have to leave in a hurry to join my wife out-of-state.
mk

Anon 2:50...I'm not trying to have a religious debate, I acknowledge that your faith benefits you in your prepping. I have friends of many faiths and I personally don't think they are going to burn in "hell", and they don't proselytize to me. My ancestors walked this land a long time in tune with the earth, nature, and creator. When missionaries came, they tore children from their parents to be placed in church schools. Many never saw their families again. They were beaten whenever they spoke their native language and severely punished, sometimes even fatally beaten. All this has been documented. A minister named Kevin Annet worked in one of these schools. When he found out its history, he tried to get the church to make some kind of amends for their actions. Instead they defrocked him and destroyed his family and his life. This should be easy to find on the internet. It tears my heart out to think of what was done to the children and families in the name of Christianity.
Also prophecy was not confined to the select elite. Hopi, Mayan, Egyptian, and Norse (just to name a few) had their doomsday prophesies.
Most of us are educated and know what a lot of different (which really aren't all that different) prophesies are.
We have come together here to learn how to best prepare while most of us on a limited budget.
If being read scriptures is what really prepares us, then I'll plant myself in front of the idiot box and watch the 700 Club. I apologize to MD for taking so much space on this subject. This ends it for me.
I will only stick to the original subject at hand. You are doing a wonderful job with this blog and appreciate all the time and work you put into it. At the end of the week I will list what I've done for this week to prep.
Mitakuye Oyasin!
mk

I shared the most important things I could with you, what is really coming, and the "most important," getting right with God personally, and as a nation.
I forgot to share my preps.
I bought more canned goods over the weekend, with expiration dates extended as far into the future as possible. Don't have the resources or time to can myself.
I live in an apartment, wish I had some property of my own, but I don't.
You may be wondering if he(I), believes in God, well then why doesn't he do nothing and let God take care of him?
God expects us to do our part.

2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 10For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."
11We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. 12Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat.

Proverbs 27:12 A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it.

Are you preparing to survive alone?
Here is some more Biblical advice;

-Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

God Bless everyone!
Anonymous 2:50

I am a prepper like the rest of you.
I would want to know all of what is coming, so I could best prepare for the situation.
On the blogs I have come across, I have not seen anyone mention these visions of America's demise.
Do I want this to happen to America?
OF COURSE NOT!!!!!!!!!
I am a Christian, I study God's Word, and these visions, God led me too, show what is coming.
I compare to the Bible these visions, and they make sense.
God does judge wicked nations.
God judged Israel for it's wickedness, and sent the sword, and famine, and captivity to them.
Yet he sent prophets, time and time again, to warn Israel, (His chosen people), to repent and turn from their sins, so that these judgments would not happen.
But they rejected God, and these things of judgment came upon them.
Actually, I have been reading Jeremiah lately, and Jeremiah was chosen, before he was born, to go and warn Israel, but they wouldn't listen.
America needs to repent, and maybe God will relent and not allow these things to happen.
To come to all of you and not show why I believe these forewarnings, would not make sense.
These things that are coming, line up with how God judges evil.
I have shared, and am convinced they are going to happen, (unless we repent as a nation).
Now you preppers know what is really coming.
It is much worse than probably most of you had any idea of.
Getting right with God is the most important thing you can do.
You may be one of the millions killed in a nuclear blast, or shot by invading armies, or even tortured to death.
And those of us who are Christians know once you are dead, "it is too late," to make a choice for Christ, only eternal suffering is your lot!
Romans 10:9-10
I wanted to show what is coming and I had to show you why I believed this.
Didn't mean to preach.
Keep an eye on the news, see what Russia and China are doing.
---------------------------------------------
Mk, I am not bothered by your protest.
I have had "much worse" thrown my way.
I want to applaud the courage of this blog owner to allow me to post this.
God Bless Him.
Anonymous 2:50

Anonymous said... February 8, 2010 1:57 AM

I also believe that Anonymous 2:50 has strayed from the original request you had for prepping. I'm reasonably sure that not all of us share the same beliefs. Simply putting that they are at peace with their relationship with their creator should suffice as part of their prep without the scripture quotes. We are here for suggestions from you and others out there on prepping for any type of disaster whether natural or man-made. I could go off on my beliefs that HAARP is to blame for a lot of our "natural"disasters but I will save that for a conspiracy blog. People should have a personal relationship with who or what they consider is their creator but does not need to be broadcast on a survivalist blog. Now Y have strayed but felt this should be addressed. M.D., please correct me if you feel I am wrong or out of line...after all this is your blog.
mk

I enjoy this part of blog, before I would not always do something to prep each week but with your suggestion I somehow feel accountable to do something each week. This week I renewed by membership at the gym, bought 2 10 gal propane bottles and propane, bought 2 months worth of food from Sam's, put 2000 rds 5.56 onto stripper clips and into bandoliers.
