A couple of small corrections to my recent article – M.D. Creekmore’s Defensive Strategies for Home and Retreat Defense after the SHTF

It seems that once again my fingers refused to type what my brain was telling them…

In my recent article “M.D. Creekmore’s Defensive Strategies for Home and Retreat Defense after the SHTF“,  I made two minor typos, or brain farts if you will, that should be corrected  - Number one: I typed OKOKA when the correct abbreviation is OCOKA and for some reason (after referencing it and writing it on this blog correctly hundreds of time) I typed OBSEC when I meant OPSEC.

I’m going to have to stop writing when I’ve had only 4 hours of sleep and worked all day.

  1. OBSEC:

    Oberational Security.

How you pronounce ‘operational’ when you have a bad head cold.

Maybe you had a bad head cold and was writing like you were speaking!

  2. I knew I’d saw you use and type both terms correctly in other blog posts you’ve written here, so we all knew it was a typo or brain fart. Don’t worry about it.

  3. Oops. Glad I never have any tpyos!

  4. M.D. I just got my seeds from seed for security. that was FAST!!! cant wait to get them planted.

  5. I read the first mistake and since I didn’t know better, thought it was fine, lol. I will correct the Word doc I saved your article to. I DID catch the OBSEC. Mike is right, sounds like you had a head cold…snicker.

    Brain farts…love it.

I’ve never made a mistake…except that one time…then there was that other time….oh, and I forgot about that time. Oh, heck, I’ve made millions including insulting Piers Anthony on another thread by attributing some of Piers Morgan’s remarks to him.

MD, we do not expect perfection from you. Still, you are the best guy in this game, and that includes Rawles. Now I’m done.

  7. I’ve only made one mistake, it was 40 years ago and she got the house and bank account and I got the important stuff; tools, guns and fishing gear….lol. Don’t sweat the small stuff and typos are definitely small stuff.

That reminds of a bumper sticker I just saw:
I just got a gun for my wife. It was the best trade I’ve ever made.

  8. Chuck Findlay says:

I never type the wrong thing, but my computer sure does…

  9. riverrider says:

yeah i saw that but i didn’t want to troubleshoot you over it. and obsec, that could be observational security, lol, so same difference. again, you got your point acroos n thats what counts.

  10. No worries MD, I suspect we’ve all done similar things. A person’s mind & body struggles to functino wll when one dont get nouf sleep.

  11. Ah! Now it makes sense.

  12. Backwoods Prepper says:

OBSEC- Obscure Security/ hidden security thats what we strive for.

  13. OBSEC vs OPSEC – now I know what it really stands for…thank you! Actually, the B comes before the P as it should!

  14. OBSEC – making sure you won’t need the services of an obstetrician after adult recreational activities

  15. Curley Bull says:

Now I’m starting to really worry about a couple of you fellas!!

  16. I wondered about that. Figured maybe there was another way to say it, or you had a head cold in your fingers. No problem.
