About The Survivalist Blog

Welcome to The Survivalist Blog

My name is M.D. Creekmore and I write The Survivalist Blog to help others prepare for an uncertain future. Most preparedness sites give the impression that you need a lot of money to prepare, after all we need a stockpile of Freeze Dried Foods, $20,000 gun collection, SUV and retreat on 50 acres in Idaho. Nothing could be further from the truth. You can prepare on very little money – I will show you how.

I started The Survivalist Blog in 2007 and since that time it has grown into one of the most popular preparedness sites on the web.

Personal Info

A few years a go I got sick of being another rat in the rat race-so I left. I bought two acres of land off the grid for $2,000 and parked a 26 foot travel trailer on it. For power I have a small generator, three solar panels and two propane tanks. As a teenager I studied Shotokan Karate, earning my black belt in three years. I am a certified gunsmith and a certified first-aid CPR instructor, or at least I was until I let my certification lapse.
