Don’t watch a movie without reading this! A short list of anti and pro gun celebrities…

by M.D. Creekmore on January 10, 2013 · 44 comments

This is a short list of known Anti-Gun Celebrities – these folks are on my “black-list”.

This means that I will not be buying or watching any movie or TV show that they appear in nor will I be listening to or buying any music CD’s featuring them.

And I will be writing the production companies producing any movies featuring those “celebrities” to let then know why…

Okay on to the short list of Anti-Gun Celebrities…

  • Kevin Bacon
  • Matt Damon
  • Mark Wahlberg
  • Danny DeVito
  • Sean Connery
  • Arnold Schwarzenegger
  • Sylvester Stallone
  • Richard Dean Anderson
  • Alec Baldwin
  • Drew Barrymore
  • Jon Bon Jovi
  • Kevin Costner
  • Michael Douglas
  • Mike Farrell
  • Michael Gross
  • Mark Harmon
  • Dustin Hoffman
  • Mike Myers
  • Sarah Jessica Parker
  • Bruce Springsteen
  • Oprah Winfrey
  • Patrick Stewart
  • Shania Twain
  • Sigourney Weaver
  •  Jason Alexander

By now you’re probably wondering if there are any pro-Second Amendment “entertainers”, well there are a few…

Here is the Short List Pro-Gun Celebrities…

  • Ice-T
  • Brad Pitt
  • Angelina Jolie
  • Joe Perry of Aerosmith
  • Johnny Depp
  • Bruce Willis
  • Ted Nugent
  • Tom Selleck
  • Joe Mantegna
  • Chuck Norris
  • Hank Williams Jr.
  • Steven Seagal
  • Chuck Woolery
  • Penn Gillette and Raymond Teller
  • Gretchen Wilson
  • Charlie Daniels

Please keep in mind that most celebrities are like politicians when it comes to guns and “gun-control” they maybe pro one day and against the next. Some may have flipped sides already…

I know that I have missed a bunch in the anti-gun category and a few in the pro-gun category so please feel free to add to the list in the comments below…

michael c January 10, 2013 at 11:20 am

I vow to not go to the theaters (with no-gun rule) or pay to see these people.

I will watch for free…

Millie in KY January 10, 2013 at 11:24 am

Ah but Johnny Depp is notoriously anti American. And he has referred to his relatives here in KY as “hillbillies”. Not very respectful. There are quite a few Depps around my area and so I got this one first hand. A lot of hurt from that comment.
I really have nothing to do today at work, can you all tell? :)

Shandi January 10, 2013 at 2:16 pm

I’m with you Millie in KY!
I am having to re-test my students… grades for this test were rock bottom a couple weeks ago so the district is making us re-test…. so all I’m doing is making sure they don’t cheat. I can’t help or anything so I am incredibly bored.

Dean in Michigan January 10, 2013 at 2:49 pm

Hey there Millie,

Just wanted to say thanks for the link to that property. Will be looking into that very shortly.

Millie in KY January 10, 2013 at 4:18 pm

Dean, we looked long and hard for that property. It’s a good one. If I could have taken the winters up there anymore, I’d have kept it but we are very satisfied down here, so hope you like it! Thanks!

MountainSurvivor January 11, 2013 at 12:13 am

I never liked Johnny Depp because he lacks good acting skills.

M.D. Creekmore January 11, 2013 at 8:21 am

The secret window was pretty good…

axelsteve January 12, 2013 at 9:44 am

Millie. Well for one thing Johnny Depp, moved his family to france. That should be reason enough to be on my $hit list.

Rob in Ontario January 10, 2013 at 11:35 am

I’m surprised at who is on the anti list when you think of Arnie and Stallone- Mark Harmon( plays in NCIS former sniper) and Richard Dean Anderson in Stargate as a gun toting soldier it seems its ok for them to play parts where they use guns to make money but I suppose most of them have armed body guards at times if not on themslves

EthanP January 10, 2013 at 1:59 pm

Former snipers, rangers etc. are (or at least were) the rage. I guess its they all started post 9/11 and military was in. CSI Miami & NY, Bones are just three more. As I explain below, I tend to give Mark Harmon a pass. Arnold has a typical European view.
Andersons the one that bugs me. His other show, McGuiver was constantly preaching anti-gun, especially hand guns messages. All of a sudden he’s the gun toteing killing machine on StarGate. I guess principles don’t trump the big bucks.

Rob in Ontario January 10, 2013 at 11:13 pm

I read today that state senator R.C. Soles (D-NC) shot an intruder this past Sunday as he wa in the senators home – he is also anti gun – add him to the first list?

Steve January 12, 2013 at 12:28 am

Ehhh MacGyver was hugely anti-gun

The Last American January 10, 2013 at 11:48 am

Just heard Glen Beck say on his radio show today that should the Government pass a law outlawing firearms, instead of fighting back, “we should all give up our guns and overwhelm the system”. Right?

He sights Gandhi and M.L.K. for leading him to is position, aren’t they both dead?

M.D. Creekmore January 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm

The Last American.

I no longer listen to Glen Beck… I think he has turned to the darkside…

EthanP January 10, 2013 at 2:12 pm

I think his idea is to swamp the legal system. It might work. 10-20 million otherwise lawful citizens all being prosecuted. Cause if you think you can stand against the power of the modern state???
The modern survelance systems mean no-one is truelly off the grid.
(Unless you’re a minority gang banger! Then the system don’t want to know nothin!) And if you think for one minute that the police or military will baulk: They never have yet! They will protect their jobs, (families to feed) and their pensions.

Personally, I think we’ll go down like Australia and South Africa. Narry a peep.

The Last American January 10, 2013 at 4:23 pm

M.D. and EthanP

M.D., Mr. Beck will no longer be heard in our house or cars either.

EthanP, at the height of it’s horror, the Gulag in the old Soviet Union held over 1 million people. North Korea holds the most it’s people in a Gulag-type state. What makes Beck think that we will somehow do better? I’ll give up my guns when his bodyguards give up theirs.

Encourager January 10, 2013 at 6:03 pm

Swamp the legal system??? You will be sitting in a jail cell until your day in court. Do you actually believe you will get out on bail?

Unleashd January 10, 2013 at 11:00 pm

Sir, I hear a very very large ‘PEEP’ coming!

OhioPrepper January 11, 2013 at 10:00 pm

You stated in part, “”Personally, I think we’ll go down like Australia . . .”.
Did you mean a shortage of Schedule 40 PVC pipe and Screw On End Caps?

Oscar January 11, 2013 at 2:20 am

Are you sure he didn’t say this in jest or that it was part of a sarcastic rant. He has been encouraging gun ownership for many months. I remember right before the elelction he warned that if things went wrong, gun sales would soar and that people should prepare. I suspect this may have been a misconstrued comment. He has banned the use of “that guys” name on his radio show. He and his staff gets fined $20 bucks if they say his name, which will eventually go to charity. So far I have not heard him say anything that would cause me to turn him off. I can’t imagine turning in guns to the government, if I had any of course.

OhioPrepper January 11, 2013 at 9:56 pm

I listen or watch (on DISH network) to him nearly every day and have heard nothing of the sort. He simply encourages us to take the high road and not start the fight, which is something I currently agree with.

OhioPrepper January 11, 2013 at 9:57 pm

Actually Ghandi won and died of old age years later.

george January 10, 2013 at 12:07 pm

Wonder how many of these Antigun clebretards actually own a gun or employ armed security???? Same with all the Legislators that are for gun bans. Why do we regualr joes have to be subject to these laws but not the ones that pass them or their millionare friends??!!! I think it is time my freinds to get a Constitutional Amendment passed that all members fo congress are subject to all the laws that they also pass!!! They should have no retirement system except Social Security and they should all be subject to Obamacare, gun laws, tax laws etc, etc, etc, etc.

EthanP January 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm

George; I couldn’t agree more on Congress.

SW January 10, 2013 at 3:52 pm

Wont happen because it’s congress that would have to pass it and they are not about to cut their own throats.

Sadly our system is corrupted beyond repair.

Encourager January 10, 2013 at 6:06 pm

george, +10. What is good for the goose (us) should be good for the gander (Congress).

KC January 11, 2013 at 7:09 am

I tell people to read animal farm. For example, in NJ, only cops, politicians, judges and armed security have a shot at a concealed permit.

OhioPrepper January 11, 2013 at 10:02 pm

I suspect all have security and can afford it.

Jake January 10, 2013 at 12:39 pm

Matt Damon, Mark Walhberg, Arnold, Stallone, and so on. I can’t believe the hypocrisy of this group. These guys are among my favorite actors. How can they validate making fortunes on portrayed gun violence and outright murder, yet oppose gun rights? Shame on the lot of you.

JP in MT January 10, 2013 at 12:46 pm

And how much money have the “anti’gunners” made from movies where they used guns? How do you spell hypocrite?

ladyhawthorne January 10, 2013 at 1:44 pm

Seems like an awful lot of the antis have made movies with guns in them. Very weird. I don’t go to the move theater anyway, so they won’t get my money.

EthanP January 10, 2013 at 1:48 pm

I would not have expected Sly Stallone.
I give Mark Harmon a pass because he’s married to Pam Dawber. I disagree with her views but at least I understand the trauma that led to them.

And yes, I know NCIS + NCIS-LA are anti-gun. NCIS, Bones and Castle are the only non sport non news TV I watch.

EthanP January 10, 2013 at 1:50 pm

You should add Marg Helenburger to the first list. Her comments were inexcusable.

tommy2rs January 10, 2013 at 2:43 pm

Never could figure out why anyone would give a rat’s ass what any actor thought. I’m with michael c. I figure that the best way to show my disdain for and displeasure with the entertainment industry is to use their products for free when I can find anything worth bothering with. If they actually produced anything worth wasting my time on that is.

Gary in Bama January 10, 2013 at 4:15 pm

A lot of actors swaps sides as often as a polititions. They say what they think will pay at a box office.I would like to see movies and tv shows with a gun ban like it has done smoking. While we are at it lets lump in video games in the ban.Be damn little left dont you think!! LOL just think rambo with just a stick the terminator with a flyswatter mabe walburg as a slingshot sniper LOL .

Linda January 10, 2013 at 5:27 pm

Most of those on the anti list are hypocrites as well, since they’ve made big bucks appearing in shows featuring guns.

private idaho January 10, 2013 at 5:38 pm

i personally have boycotted hollywood for years all they put out is violence filled garbage. i mean after you see one war movie or slasher flick you’ve seen them all, violence begets violence

OhioPrepper January 11, 2013 at 10:04 pm

private idaho,
I’ve seen many of their movies, since they almost all eventually end up on TV.

MountainSurvivor January 10, 2013 at 6:35 pm

Wonderings come to mind…How many of the anti-gunners have guns in their homes/possession, that no one knows about, in their safes, underbed lockboxes, beneath the floorboards, in a secret compartment inside their Porches/Lambourghinis/Eddie Bauers, under their shirts or skirts. Have they funded any pro-terrorist organizations. What are their ties to communist, socialist or nazi groups or organizations inside or outside the nation. How many of them have private planes and snuck guns and ammo on board before they returned to the U.S. How many of them have been in Mexico because they have drug problems, know gun and drug cartel members, or wandered off to other countries and used their money to obtain the same weapons they do not want any of their fellow citizens using. Are any of them legal citizens or residents of other countries and are supporters to those governments intent on disarming us.

T.R. January 10, 2013 at 8:28 pm

too bad most of the pro gun folks are people I dont like to see in movies . I guess you cant have everything .

Lake Lili January 10, 2013 at 10:07 pm

Very few on either list were a surprise, with the possible excption of Sean Connery. Him being a rabid Scottish nationalist (SNP) and all… how else does one celebrate that most holy of holies, the Glorious 12th, than sitting in the heather and blasting grouse and ptarmigan?!? Very disappointed… the end of a fantasy of him and me walking the moors as the beaters drove the birds out of the gorse… But really folks, hypocracy aside, I think just about every one of those worthies has made money from acting using guns as a tool so their opinions should count for nother, but of course the MSM is so biased that it will never be portrayed as such.

tommy2rs January 11, 2013 at 1:25 am

Remembered this from Lucifer’s hammer….lol. Thought it would go well with the TV section.

Pure Sweet Culture (from Lucifer’s Hammer by Niven and Pournelle)
(sung to the tune of Cool Clear Water)

All day I face the TV waste, without trace of culture,
Pure Culture.
With soapbox operas all day long and giveaway shows that run too long
and lead you on
From culture

The sun goes down and all through the town
you hear the cry for culture,
Sweet culture.
While lawyers grin, and cops will win, to stop the sin of culture.
Culture. Pure….culture

Keep a tunin’, friend, it’ll set you in a trend,
And your mind it’s gonna bend,
and hook you in the end,
with culture. Culture. Pure Culture.

Friend, can’t you see, for you and me,
and a mind that’s free,
It’s pay TV for you and me,
And culture. Culture. Pure….sweet…culture.

(Said in a plonking voice)

Almost as much as you get from from an old Bogart movie.

Leonard Bernstein conducts
the London Symphony Orchestra and the
Rolling Stones in a dazzling display of

CULTURE. Pure, sweet, culture

“Folks, tonight we have a debate
between the president of the United
Farm Workers versus twenty two
hunger-maddened housewives armed
with butcher knives. It’s
