Totally agree, this is a very realistic scenario. Open hostility & violence will be an everyday occurrence with which we will all personally witness. I literally watched the Rodney King riots and there was NOTHING the police could do but contain the area, they could not stop it. In Korea Town they were in the street, being filmed, shooting the rioters with shotguns & handguns but stopped the looters.
Imagine that scenario in every major city in the US where everybody is out for survival, I believe it will happen & become unstoppable.
The biggest problem we face as a country is we produce very little anymore and have evolved into a nation of consumers & service industries, servicing those consumers. We can only feed upon ourselves for so long …
I still absolutely love this country but my family more. I would encourage everyone to get a passport to add to an exit strategy. They are about $60 & good for 10 years and could save your life.

Very wise words. I trade stock options to raise cash for preps among other things and I can say that there is something very wrong with this market. I’ve never been one for conspiracy theories but I think this market is being artificially held up by our government (or maybe Goldman Sachs or some extremely large firm). It almost seems like the technicals and conventional wisdom don’t apply anymore, all the market knows is up, up, up – even with all the negative economic data.
You know what they always say: when a bubble bursts, just inflate another one.

The problem is we are now a society of people leaving their faith in government entitlements. No longer is anyone held accountable for anything. Now even health care. But what happens when the checks stop? No one knows how to take care of themselves because the government convinced us they would. Until it collapses. Those of us that have accepted we must take care of ourselves will be somewhat better off. For how long I don’t know. I do know it’s going to be a real mess.
Indeed! Back in the 30′s we still had an industrial base and the people had skills and knowledge that has been lost by the affluent generation. There was a feature on CNN yesterday that showed students in a classroom with a wide assortment of vegetables on the table. Not one of them could identify what any of them were. How can they grow them if they don’t even know what they are? If we can’t get back on track, we should hand out fiddles so that as our culture burns we can have some music.
