There is more than one way to have a place to call your own. The article doesn't say anything about how you are going to make money to live on when you buy a piece of property in a county with no large city and with no electricity and water on it or direct you to an article that tells you how to do that………..

Georgene,

With the current economy "making a living" is difficult no matter where you are, at least for most people.

As for your question about earning an income in the country, the answer will be different depending on the individual, area and skill set.

What are you good at? What do you like to do? Maybe you could turn those into a workable home business?

Georgene-

You have a very valid question, one that might be easier to answer if you rephrased it like this:

…how you are going to live when you buy a piece of property…

the concept is that you want to be able to live on that land without NEEDING to work in a city or town collecting a paycheck. if there is a breakdown in social structure that vaporizes your paycheck job, that land in the country is where you want to be growing food, hunting game, making textiles, and engaging in other activities that replace items you previously were able to buy at the store.

that land is what allows you to survive initially, and maybe even someday start Living.
