I have a great wife. She's on board with us prepping and does her part. We have put away a lot of canned stuff, MRE's and Mountain House meals and are now planning on buying buckets of wheat.
Now comes the problem. Great wife….lousy cook (but hey, she puts up with my rediculously large gun collection).
Sooo…..how about some good bread making videos. I'd really like to see some very primitive ways to make bread if you were living out of a truck for a while.
Temp control is a key to bread making. when making bread by hand (without the aid of a bread machine)she will need to let the dough rise in a warm place. One suggestion is to place the dough in a bowl. Place the bowl in a rock in a shallow backing pan. Place boiling water from a tea kettle on the pan and cover with a towel.
The other issue is making sure the bread gets enough kneading and rises. Usually takes 3 hours to make a loaf of bread. Most recipes makes 2 loaves at a time. She will need to follow instructions exactly. She will also need to practice making bread before disaster hits as part of her prep.
