Gun Sales Surge: Smith & Wesson Announces Sales +48% : “The only true “consumer confidence” statistic one should look at is that of gun sales. The bottom line is people do not hoard guns when they are confident about the future of the country, and gun sales have never been better.”

3 Forces Set To Send Oil Prices Soaring : “Drill All You Want… Oil Prices Are Still Headed Higher.”

The Coming Derivatives Panic That Will Destroy Global Financial Markets : “When financial markets in the United States crash, so does the U.S. economy. Just remember what happened back in 2008. The financial markets crashed, the credit markets froze up, and suddenly the economy went into cardiac arrest. Well, there are very few things that could cause the financial markets to crash harder or farther than a derivatives panic.”

North Korea only one week away from long-range rocket that can reach California : “A prominent South Korean news agency is reporting that North Korea is only one week away from having a long-range rocket capable of reaching California.”

Show This To Anyone That Believes That Taxes Are Too Low : “Every year average Americans pay dozens of different types of taxes, and yet many of our politicians are very open about the fact that they want to raise rates even higher and invent even more ways to bleed us all dry.  Someday historians will look back and be absolutely amazed at how stupid we were.  We have the most complicated tax code in all of human history and at this point the federal tax code is more than four times as long as the entire collected works of William Shakespeare.”

Where your tax dollars go… Obama Quietly Handing Over Billions of Dollars to the UN in the Name of Global Warming.

Gallup Finds Unemployment Rate Soars Following Presidential Election : “Two months ago, there were various prominent pundits who were furiously mocked and ridiculed by those whose job in the media it is to mock and ridicule, for suggesting what most know: that economic data is widely nuanced, massaged, adjusted, goalseeked and outright manipulated by various political interests.”

Sure… There was a “practice SWAT exercise”…. That’s why they had SO MANY LEOs out there so quickly, including some from the FBI…. I believe that about as much as I believe there was NOT some form of voter fraud and election tampering. They’ve been watching this guy for a while…

  2. blackprojekt21 says:

Here’s a link to the story. The last paragraph is especially scary…

  3. Wonder if this guy had signed up for a Nat Geo episode.

  4. Hey MD -here’s more info about that police raid. Here’s an excerpt from that article.

According to, the anonymous tip claimed Terry Porter was “getting crazier and crazier” because he was stockpiling “10 to 15 machine gun-style firearms” at his home in Sharpsburg where he had built an underground bomb shelter and installed surveillance cameras. An undercover officer pretended to be a potential customer for Porter’s welding business. Porter openly admitted to being a doomsday prepper, and criticized Obama during the conversation.

While this was not illegal, the investigation led police to the discovery that Porter had a 1992 felony drug conviction and was therefore barred from owning firearms. This discovery led to the large scale raid which resulted in much ado about nothing. The FBI recovered only “four shotguns, a .30-30-caliber rifle and two .22-caliber rifles” with no machine guns in sight. The prepper was not even home at the time.

A massive manhunt ensued, with multiple special response units combing the area. Terry Porter apparently heard about the FBI raid since he turned himself in the next morning at Hagerstown Barrack.

The cost and the scope of this massive operation is being questioned by some in the media. Porter’s possession of guns merely provided a justification for the police raid and came to light only after authorities began to investigate him over his anti-Obama statements.

The interesting thing is that he wasn’t criticizing Obama in a public forum, but in a private conversation with a cop who was undercover at the time. Scary stuff eh?

    -Jarhead Survivor

    • sounds like the Soviet Union huh ?

      • SurvivorDan says:

        Da! Tovarisch! It does indeed. There he’d be dead or committed to an insane asylum.{ Not that it doesn’t happen here.}

    • 10 to 15 guns? That’s not even a starter kit for Eric Holder and the Fast and Furious fiends. Big brother, why didn’t send that big a response for those guns that got away from you in Benghazi?

      • SurvivorDan says:

THEY are so desperate to further malign preppers. Those evil freedom worshiping devils!!!

        • SurvivorDan,

I published an article a few years ago about how the media had vilified the term survivalist and as a result “survivalist” started referring to themselves by the more then politically correct term “prepper”. I also said in that article that it was only a matter of time before they (the media) did the same to the reference “preppers” as they had survivalist. I wonder what we’ll call ourselves next…?

  5. For anyone interested Community Chickens has an article on using vodka versus vinegar to clean the coop.

Let the drunken chicken jokes begin…lol

    • Tactical G-Ma says:

With enough vodka, I don’t care if the coop is cleaned or not! lol.

      • Tactical G-Ma:

I wonder if this would work for the cat box? At least it would marinate the cat.

        • Tactical G-Ma says:

They don’t make enough vodka to keep me from gagging when I clean the litter box. I look like I am preparing for surgery, rubber gloves, face mask, the works if I have to do that. I love our kitty but that is DH’s job.

          • Tactical G-Ma:

I’m not that bad off, but when we got married, I brought in the kids who have since left the house. She brought the cat, and we still have one (with my daughter’s make that 2).

          • Thomas T. Tinker says:

Tac-Ma…. do you pour the vodka in the box?

  6. Why up to 150 LEO’s taking place? Because it wasn’t a hard target. This wasn’t somebody who was bunkering up to take on the government; he was bunkering up so that what was his would stay his in a disaster. I must have looked like a ninja zoo.

  7. I’ll start worrying about North Korea missiles, when they can get over the Sea of Japan without coming apart.

  8. livinglife says:

I think investing in gold as a commodity is a big mistake. Iran is currently taking gold for oil payments to get around not trading in dollars or Euros, how soon until our government or another (UN) declares the price of gold at a set amount way below current market level as a punitive action against Iran once they have stockpiled a large supply?

    • livinglife:

Gold is still an tangible asset. It is a way of preserving wealth, and only used in prepping when you have all of your other bases covered.

    • I don’t think the Chinese or Russians will buy into that. I think they’ve just about had their fill of TDL and the fed money press. Look for the wheels to start coming off in January.

      • Thomas T. Tinker says:

Wow that next one is outta place……

Tex and JP have a point. PMs are a store of wealth. Disconnect the ‘paper’ price per ounce and you are in a different world. The US dollar…er Fed. Reserve Note.. is 3 odd years past the life span of the next fiat currency.

    • Thomas T. Tinker says:

Tac-Ma…. do you pour the vodka in the box?

  9. Goes right back to opsec folks…be careful who you are talking to and especially about giving details of what you do, what you think, what you store and even that you are any type of prepper. This man may well be just prepping for a storm and look at the problems he now faces.

  10. GoneWithTheWind says:

He was “swatted” by someone who dislikes him.

  11. Tactical G-Ma says:

Some years ago I worked briefly for an American Oil and Gas Company. What I learned was that OPEC set the market price, even if the cost of producing American oil was considerably less. Gasoline prices are what is considered “market driven” prices. It does not matter the production cost of the product. What matters is how much they (the gas co.) can get at the pump. So much so, that gas station managers will check the prices posted by nearby stations several times each day so if one raises the price others will too. When American Oil Companies can provide their investors with consistent annual gains of 17% or more, somebody is being taken to the cleaners. I left their employment when I realized their business practices go against my beliefs of ethical behavior.
If federal regulation was ever needed, it is in the oil industry but guess who owns politicians.

  12. cooolwoods says:

I havent seen terry in years, but I can say he’s no nut job.other than selling some “weed” he is a straight up good guy.I’ve been following this for a couple of days. when I started reading about this I was shocked to find that I know this “doomsday prepper”. I know his parents too, he comes from good values.
as far as a training exercise “nearby” thats complete crap!the closest place for any exercise is camp david, well I guess thats only about 40 min from there.
I’m sure the powers that be are watching the area closely, as 66% of the county voted against obummer.
this just goes to show how little time we have to prepare…
    stay safe
