Obama Administration Participates in Finalizing UN Gun Grabbing Treaty : “Critics warn the treaty will result in mandatory gun registration. Registration makes it easy for a tyrannical government to confiscate firearms and to make prey of its subjects,” writes Stephen P. Halbrook. Others argue that gun registration is essentially confiscation. “The only purpose of gun registration is gun confiscation, whether it is done individually and piecemeal, as the legal requirements to own a gun become more and more difficult, or en mass, when the government feels the necessity to disarm its citizens in order to further its control,” notes Dean Weingarten.”

The Real-World Middle Class Tax Rate: 75% : and the gooberment is still broke…

Perhaps they could raise taxes to get out of their cash-strapped state : “Obamacare: Seven New Taxes on Citizens Earning Less than $250,000. The first, and best known, of these seven taxes that will hit all Americans as a result of Obamacare is the Individual Mandate Tax (no longer concealed as a penalty). This provision will require a couple to pay the higher of a base tax of $1,360 per year, or 2.5% of adjusted growth income starting with lower base tax and rising to this level by 2016. Individuals will see a base tax of $695 and families a base tax of $2,085 per year by 2016.”

Mystery illness claims dozens of Cambodian children : “The World Health Organization is helping the Cambodian Ministry of Health investigate the cause of a mysterious illness that has killed dozens of children in the country since April.”

Internet will vanish Monday for 300,000 infected computers : “As many as 300,000 PCs and Macs will drop off the Internet in about 65 hours unless their owners heed last-minute calls to scrub their machines of malware.”

New sunspot group bombards Earth with solar flares : “A violent new sunspot is bombarding the Earth with particles from solar flares – including a blast that affected some radio transmissions across Europe.”

Bird flu pandemic in humans could happen any time : “The world has yet to see a form of the deadly bird flu virus that could spread easily between people and cause a global outbreak – but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen, scientists said on Thursday. After studying 15 years of data on bird flu viruses in the wild, researchers said some strains were already part way along the road to acquiring a handful of mutations needed to change into a form that could cause a devastating human pandemic.”

  1. JP in MT says:

I keep looking at these restrictive initiatives the government is going with (UN gun legislation being one) and wonder why the government is doing things that make people nervous? What are they afraid of?

    • “What are they afraid of?” My thoughts exactly.

    • NewNormal says:

They are afraid of free people. I’ve determined the federal government has an ‘its us against them’ mentality when it comes to the American public. We are hostile until proven otherwise.

      • charlie (NC) says:

An armed man is a CITIZEN and UN-armed man is a SUBJECT!

Gun confiscation might not work to good in large parts of the US.
As to the actual collection part, I’ll quote Mr. T “I pity the fool”.

  2. riverrider says:

an msn headline was “japan could go broke by october”. now thats scary right there….tomorrows headline will be “extremist upset at no power goes on rampage in va.” this is day seven. they’re not even close to getting power restored. wth?….

    • recoveringidiot says:

RR, sure you paid the bill? (Runs off in a zig zag pattern while ducking);+)
What do the power suppliers say? I’ve gotten the juice back ion quicker after full blown hurricanes.

    • d2 prep says:

Geez riverrrider, this sounds like “One Second After” for you. Hope your power comes back on this weekend.

    • Jarhead 03 says:

River, are you posting from your phone? I know when the smart phones started coming out and I bought one we had a mass power outage and people were asking how I was able to post updates on MySpace (when it was popular) so glad you and others are keeping us here on the left coast updated.

  3. I’m about to be a criminal becasue I’m not registering a damn thing. I’ll bury them in an unknown location before I register so much as a pocket knife.

    • oHio,
We won’t have any to register. We sold them all to pay for our healthcare. Wink wink.

    • Aye that ! Many of our guns were hand me downs , old but still in tip top usable condition . My fav of them is the army cavalry issue Win. 1895 carbine . The stock was broken in hand to hand combat in WW1 and field repaired ………still fires like it was made yesterday . None of them registered………and never will be .

    • riverrider says:

i ain’t burying a damn thing! COME AND GET THEM!

    • charlie (NC) says:

      +1 Ohio!

  4. “Critics warn the treaty will result in mandatory gun registration. Registration makes it easy for a tyrannical government to confiscate firearms and to make prey of its subjects,” writes Stephen P. Halbrook.

Canada is finally getting rid of the Long Gun Registry here, finally!

The Long Gun Registry did nothing to curb Weapons related problems, it made Criminals of Legal Gun Owners, allowed the Police to confiscate, destroy or otherwise make your life miserable for the slightest offence. Yes it happens here.

Real Gun Control is at Borders, Airports, Shipping areas, searching every container for illegal weapons. Stop the flow of illegal weapons, stop the distribution of arms into other countries, you curb Weapons related problems. You do not make honest people criminals, a lot just go underground with weapons then, do not register. 99%+ would never use a weapon for wrong, it is the criminals, whom get illegal weapons, there is your problems. As seen through the eyes of Canadians for over 10yrs of prosecution, problems and a few Billion to create and run this problematic registry, yes I said Billions and we are a small population country, imagine what it would cost the USA?

    • Getting rid of? Gotten rid of. GONE!! WOOOHOO! Of course, our best friend Premier McGuinty is trying to get an Ontario registration. Idiot.

On the other side, I absolutely love reading the Americans freak about all the tax that socialism is causing them. This is something that you and I already live with and have for our entire lives. Time to feel the pain we already feel, and it sucks my American friends, it really does.

      • I dont doubt it ………….Hopefully in the election we can get rid of Obami the Commi ………..Not thrilled about Romney but thats where the chips have landed .

        • Jarhead 03 says:

TR, I agree, Romney is no better. He became a tool of the GOP once they saw their picks didn’t have a chance. He like Obama enforced health care at the tax payers expense but has the nerve to call it a penalty and avoids calling it a tax based on the state had the right to call it something else. I don’t trust him any more and he doesn’t even own a firearm let alone remembers how to shoot one.
Sad, it’s been since papa Bush since we had someone that saw combat and even Reagan was at Normandie two days after the invasion. We need a military man in office.

          • worrisome says:

Advantages of Romney over Obama =
            1. Has no interest in moving gun control forward.
            2. Is interested in making money, he has a history of doing so, that means he will at least understand how the business economy should work.
            3. Yes he brought a form of Obama Care to the state he governed, he knows it didn’t work……..ask the citizens they will tell you that the cost of health insurance in that state sucks. Doubt he is stupid enuf to repeat his failures.
            4. Trust? NOPE, but then should you trust any of them at this point? Too many divided loyalties………
            5. But if he is going to win, he needs to start getting a plan together, and giving a consistent message going forward. People need to do what he is going to do……..He is doing too many meet and greets and not enough television air time with a plan!
Just my humble opinion and I could go on for pages…:)

          • The GOP needs to be extremely agressive and call Obomi the Commi out on EVERYTHING they can , and start slamming hard and NOW ………..the soft sell is not going to work in this election .

          • I agree totally about Romney , as for needing a military man …….they can be crap also . Look at McCain , he’s a war monger and didnt learn one damn thing about being a POW . He is also the reason Obama got in , in the forst place , he picked a jackass as a running mate , everybody knew he would be what amounted to G.Bush’s third term , so they took a chance on the newbie . We need OUT of the UN , OUT of the wars , and OUT of globalization , OUT of NATO ( what Jefferson warned about entangling alliances is coming true with that one )……..I dont see any military man acting any differently than what we have had . Ron Paul was the only candidate that had a grip on reality ……I hope his son runs in the next election , He may be a bit more electable for the masses and still retain Libertarian values .

          • You said it Jarhead 03. I think in order to be called “Commander In Chief” they should be required to have served active duty in the military.

          • Soggy Prepper says:

I know Allen West has some baggage, But I’d vote for Allen West in a heartbeat. He’d make a most excellent VP.

          • Ide like to see Rand Paul as VP

  5. I tend to agree with oHIo.

    • mountain lady says:

Me, too. Since when does the UN trump the Constitution of the United States of America!

      • Soggy Prepper says:

This is just one site, I went to a few. Treaties DO NOT supercede the U.S. Constitution. I had actually thought they did (took the bait hook, line and sinker).

But we would hope that the scotus would read the Constitution the same way as the Founding Father’s intended. I’m sure they would find for the Constitution and not liberal, socialist agenda.
Just like they did with the obamasacare….oh, wait….

        • Jarhead 03 says:

Soggy, you are correct. Just like the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) we agree to turn over our troops if they commit a crime in another country.
So far during the Iraq/Afghan war there have been multiple examples of the US violating SOFA by not turning in troops that clearly violated the USMJ for murder, rape and desicrating the dead where as when I was in under Papa Bush and Clinton the guys were handed over left and right for crimes less grigious and up to rape and murder.

  6. MD, hope you made out all right and the storms missed you. Weather is so capricious and a straight line storm is the worst with little or no warning. Up here they are famous for that in the hot summer. Tear up one town and miss another three miles away. Our prayers are with you during this trying period of time. Harold

  7. Dean in Michigan says:

Liked the bit on the sunspots, as I feel this is the most direct threat that wasn’t man made.

A real good way to track them is “”.(sorry I’m link impaired). Anyway,it’s a good way to see what is coming way before you will ever see anything on the news. The sunspot that caused that report is almost gone, however, a quick look at the solar disc will show you another big one is starting to come around from the back side of the sun.

I use this website to help coordinate plans because it is easy to tell when earth is looking right down the barrel of an X class flare.

Hopefully, the next time anyone looses power, it won’t take 5 or more YEARS to get it back.

    • Jarhead 03 says:

Dean, I’m still studying more about the EMPs and wonder if I have items in the basement/cellar will they be good to go or may consider creating a cage for some items to go in there.

      • Dean in Michigan says:

Wish I had that answer my friend. I have a small cage in my basement for some two way radios and a small short wave/ weather band radio. I expect to loose everything else.

Don’t even know for sure that the cage is going to work, it’s pretty crude.

  8. TarHeel says:

“What are they afraid of?” Why you of course, the armed citizen.

  9. davida michaele says:

all my cop friends know better then come here trying to take guns . they know its wiser to just quit the job.

  10. Time to buy burial tubes if you havent already as the US heads toward Communism .

    • Omg! I had to google burial tube. In my mind, I was thinking this has got to be some kind of coffin-type thing they use in an overpopulated Asian country! LOL! Was I ever wrong! Haha

      • Hey ! you may have come up with something ………..why not buy a coffin and actually bury it in a cemetery complete with headstone . Digging it back up may be problematic attention wise but there are A LOT of tiny old graveyards that seldom get visitors out in the boonies .

        • Jarhead 03 says:

I lie that idea, may cost $1,500 to $3,000 but if you have enough guns it could work. They did that in the Terminator movie I think.

          • LOL , its been done for many things , but its still something that is just oddball enough to still work well . Human nature and phycology concerning graves and the dead are too ingrained in our existence to take it lightly ……….even going to a cemetery bothers some people .

  11. d2 prep says:

I was in a gun shop today at lunch and you would be amazed at the crowd that was in there. Looked like a lot of first time buyers and it was packed. That should tell us all something when the masses are starting to smell it! The store manager was even talking about the UN issue to me.

    • Crazy Stevo says:

Been in and out of a shops in the last 2 weeks. They are empty in the Tampa Bay area. The shops can’t even get any weapons/try to get them.

  12. Here’s some information that may give you piece of mind about the DNS issue
Malware, a DNS Changer targeting laptops and desktops, was released at the beginning of 2012. Its goal is to redirect legitimate DNS requests and searches to a malicious server.
The FBI set up temporary DNS servers to capture the re-routed traffic, resending it to the correct locations.
The FBI intends to shut down the temporary DNS servers on Monday, July 9 as the court order permitting them to operate expires.
Anti-virus companies have signatures and have been sending an alert to users infected; Google, Facebook and certain ISPs are also notifying users when they discover a re-route occurring.
If your personal machine has up to date anti-virus then you are likely safe from DNS disruption.
If you would like to check your machine anyway, you can go to this site for detailed instructions
For your information, the malicious IP range and a detailed FBI summary can be found at

    • I did that , its pretty easy . You follow the link and pick your country , then after clicking on that you get a color code and explanation …………I was green ( unaffected )

  13. JP in MT says:

Did you change the header again?

    • worrisome says:

I asked that there be a puppy track somewhere on the page…looks like he found a spot! Yippee!

  14. riverrider says:

beware this u.n. treaty crap. hitler registered guns “for the public safety” then confiscated them from only the jews. stalin much the same. mao too. disarmament then slavery, or worse. well, not much worse than slavery. besides if hillary has something to do with it, it can’t be good. sic semper tyrannis! the soldiers pack is lighter than the chains of slavery.

  15. San Antonio gun show starts tomorrow promptly at 0900. Vote with your dollars. Vote early, vote often.

  16. MENTALMATT says:

I truely hate the United Nations, they have done nothing. United Nation troops have been known to rape and loot from countries that they have been deployed in. Look at the facts, they did nothing with the slaughter in Rawanda, oh and yes they were there. The United States gives billions in aid to the United Nations. It’s time we stop, gun control is suicide.

    • worrisome says:

      Agreed Mental Matt!

    • Agreed,
In Haiti we spent as much time keeping the UN troops off the indigenous woman as we did running security ops. What a hell hole, want to see a populace solely dependent on an inept greedy guberment take a trip to Haiti. Welcome to TDL’s vision for this country.

  17. worrisome says:

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California lawmakers approved billions of dollars Friday in construction financing for the initial segment of the nation’s first dedicated high-speed rail line connecting Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The move marked a major political victory for Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown and the Obama administration. Both have promoted bullet trains as job generators and clean transportation alternatives.

First segment to be built between Stockton (in bankruptcy) to Modesto (highest unemployment rate). Jerry and Nobama spending lottsa tax payers money when both DE can California are BROKE! WTH Glad they think it is a victory! Looks to me like stupidity!

  18. Cold Warrior says:

The Founding Fathers did not put the Right to Keep and Bare Arms into the Constitution so we could hunt Ducks and Deer. (We all know that)

It was put in so the people could “push back” against tyranny, for example a Healthcare bill that 70% of the people do not want.

Dick Morris has a book out entitled “Screwed” which goes over all the UN treaties being cooked up. He says that a Treaty does overule the Constitution. Either way, it won’t matter, our President and Eric Holder seem not to follow the law anyway.
