Friday Miscellany News Brief

1. New Research: Pastors Deliberately Keeping Flock In The Dark : “George Barna is the foremost researcher of modern Christianity in the country. He recently spoke about a two-year research project studying why modern-day pastors and churches are so silent regarding political issues.”

2. UN and Feds Plan to Fight Ebola With Tyranny : “In an amendment to “Executive Order” 13295 signed last week, Obama, expanding on a previous order, has already purported to grant his administration vast powers to detain Americans suspected of harboring a “respiratory illness.”

3. Obama: ‘The American People WANT Me to Sign All These Executive Orders’

“The American people don’t want me just standing around twiddling my thumbs and waiting for Congress to get something done,” Obama said.

Really? The American people don’t want the president of the United States to follow the Constitution?

4. Anti-Cancer Diet: 6 Easy Ways to Lower Risk : “Anti-cancer dietary fads are as common as the “Big C” is deadly. But how many trendy nutritional approaches that promise to lower your cancer risk are actually backed by solid scientific research?”

5. Border Patrol Agent: Federal Government Releasing Murderers Into U.S. : “A Border Patrol agent claims that the federal government is allowing murderers from Central America to be released into the U.S. Speaking to Fox News on Wednesday, agent Chris Cabrera stated that these teenage gang members crossing the border are being released to family members in the U.S. If they have family in the United States, they’ll release them to the family, even if they’re admitted gang members,” Cabrera explained to Fox News. “We’ve had a couple that had admitted to murders in their home country.”

6. CDC bombshell: Ebola spread to USA ‘inevitable’ : “The spread of Ebola to the USA is “inevitable,” said the head of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday. Tom Frieden made the statement in a House Subcommittee hearing.”

7. At Augason FarmsThe One Month Pack : The One Month Pack contains plenty of food in everyday size cans for one person to last 30 days.

8. It Is Becoming Clear – We Are NOT Prepared For An Ebola Pandemic : “The United States is woefully unprepared for an Ebola outbreak. If a pandemic were to erupt, the very limited number of hospital labs and isolation units that we currently have would be rapidly overwhelmed. Yes, we may be able to provide “state of the art care” for a handful of people, but if thousands (or millions) of Americans get the virus you can forget about it.”

  1. Just heard where we air dropped 6000 MREs into Iraq. I had to get my brother to give me three for my GHBs because they are too expensive. Makes me _________ing sick that we spend my unborn grand children’s money half way around the world instead of doing ANYTHING fot the Natural Born Citizens of this country. Those azzclowns know it’s coming yet they won’t do a single thing for the people. Have to be satisfied in knowing that carma will get em and their day of judgement is coming.

    • riverrider says:

there’s more to it than you see. the people being given mre’s,( and i hope its more than 6000 because there are upwards of 40k stranded ) are victims of this regime creating the isil/isis group. they are not muslim and they supported us during the war and we left them hanging. now tdl/hillary’s goons are trying to destroy them, its genocide of our making and we have a moral obligation to help. isil was created by hillary thru the saudi prince to take libya and then syria. it was originally supposed to go after iran but their effort to drum up a war with them failed. they turned to syria instead where we trained and armed them further. this is what ambassador stevens knew, what got him and 3 other heros killed. this is why we haven’t bombed them to hell. they however have turned on the saudis, assassinating saudi intel agents “handlers”. this is why only now we attack. we created this mess, we failed to act against it, so we must own it.

    • read that Anguson food ad,that will make you sicker! 48 cans of soup for 160? Really, anything thats advertised as survival anything is disgustingly priced! For 160 at walmart, you can get 6 months worth of soup.

      • I believe of the 48 cans included, only 11 are soup. Still may not be the best deal for your $$, but that is what each individual needs to decide.

        • True Susy. Some are rice, some are potatoes some are orange drink also. These are done for convenience not for saving money. I do have some freeze dried stored myself but mostly meat and veggies not meals. You can package your own rice, beans, potatoes ( mashed type ) for much less

  2. 1. Pastors at predominately white churches face threats to lose their tax-exempt status if they say anything political. Does the name Lois Lerner ring a bell?

#2. Not surprising. Tyranny is the MO for all statists/socialists/communists.

#3. If Obama had said some Americans want me to sign these orders, he would be telling the truth. A good many Americans desire a dictator to do the things they want but can’t get done through the democratic process. Refer to #2.

#5. Yep, we knew murderers were among those who were being released, then bused and flown all over the country. The only important thing to those now in charge is getting enough votes to hang on to power long enough to destroy the Constitution, then 1 party rule like they have in any number of banana republics, communist dictatorships, or socialist pseudo-utopias.

#6. It is inevitable that ebola will get here under the current circumstances. I believe we’ve said it here on MD’s blog any number of times. People should come here and listen to us if they want to know what will happen in the future.

#8. The nearest hospital to me is in a small city of 10,000 people. The hospital has 35 beds, and no dedicated isolation unit with reverse air flow, etc. It is woefully unprepared for an ebola outbreak. This city also has a small college with 3000 students, but as many as 100 of those students are from 3rd World countries, including some in W. Africa. Yeah, the spread of ebola to the US is inevitable. Even to small communities, so just because you don’t live in a big city doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be prepared for the worst.

  3. Nebraska Woman says:

Church pastors are afraid of offending people.
About the ebola scare: I just can’t help but think that bad water and nutritional deficiencies are to blame for a lot of these deaths. I may be naïve, but the fact is that the relatively healthy Americans who contacted this disease are recovering while others who lived the typical African way of life are dying.
I have no problem with dropping MREs to the Christians in Iraq, but I do have a problem with our prezdent running the show with his pen and phone.

  4. The 2 Americans are recovering, Nebraska Woman, because they were given blood transfusions from people in Africa who had recovered from the disease. If you noticed, the doctor was able to walk from the ambulance to the hospital. He had already received the transfusion before he left Africa, and was improving. This is the only known treatment that works, and has been used in past epidemics to save some few lives(7 of 8 who were given these transfusions in the last outbreak, according to Bam Bam in a previous post). This virus is very potent, and only 1 virus particle can cause an infection. I am not confident that Americans have any real immunity to this virus, and since we’ve never been exposed to it, we may in fact have less immunity than people in Africa. Granted, sanitation and clean water go a long way toward disease control, and being healthy as well. I just don’t want to be over-confident when it comes to ebola. I just have a really bad..bad feeling about this disease.

    • transfusion? where did you hear that?

      • Bam Bam posted it on one of the other threads. If I remember correctly, Bam Bam got her information from Samaritan’s Purse, the org he worked for. If I have time later, I’ll look for it. Just checking in right now, but I’ll be back.

        • The first reports were that he received a blood transfusion from a 14 year old boy who recovered. Then it came out that both Americans received an experimental serum called Zmap.

      • This news story reports the American doctor received a transfusion from a 14 yr. old boy who survived the disease. It’s a lengthy article, so if you don’t want to read it all, skip down to the heading, “Sick American Doctor Airlifted”, and you can read about the doctor receiving the transfusion. I know these type transfusions have worked in the past. This ZMap serum may be a dodge so that Americans will relax, and not demand more stringent border security. Hard to know at this point.

      • Worrisome says:

Samaritan’s purse and the cdc both addresses the fact a serum was developed out the blood of someone who had survived this particular brand of Ebola, additionally, one of the treatment options is transfusion when the disease reaches a point where tissues start breaking down

  5. Canyonman says:

I enjoy reading any true article that exposes Joel Osteen. And most churches aren’t about truth any more; they’re about “your best life now” and the false doctrine of prosperity.

#2-3. It’s not that I dislike him. I actually despise him.

#4. A recent study has proven that research causes cancer in laboratory animals. But seriously…. one week it’s coffee and eggs causing it, the next week they’re curing it. Day 38 without a cigarette, and I’m eating what I like, and it doesn’t include soy! LOL

#5. We need to put some maps and suggestion boxes down on the border. Might find some use for those fellas.

#6-7-8. QUOTE: “In truth, almost nobody is America is prepared for an Ebola outbreak — not the people, not the hospitals, not the grocery stores and certainly not the government….Even a small, local Ebola outbreak would result in a mandatory lock down of people in their own homes….The problem with all this is that the very minute the public gets word of Ebola spreading in America, people will launch into panic buying of everything you can imagine: gasoline and fuel, water, storable foods, chemical sanitizers, ammunition, firearms and so on. Think “zombie apocalypse” and you’ll get the idea.” END QUOTE

… Hmmm. And suddenly, it seems, the less than 1% who “prep” have become the smartest animals in the jungle…

    p.s. Buy more ammo.

  6. Canyonman says:

But the good new today is, we have a massive budget surplus! Apparently, enough to spend $450,000 on spa/gym memberships for DHS staff in D.C.

Not to mention that $619 billion in spare change that they’re having a bit of trouble documenting …

  7. I’m off work for a few days because I hurt my knee and the Doc said to rest the knee, and I can do seated work. Well I can sit and work on preps , the Cub can do the lifting . Stay safe eveyone, God bless

  8. #1. I read this yesterday, and I agree. I want a pastor who will speak the truth and allow it to be spoken. We have an issue this years budget, funds are tight. I have been working for 9 months and finally got a report that someone other than the finance guy can understand. I told them to main reason for me campaigning so hard for this is the current administration is NOT our friend. They see the churches as the next big threat. So they can use the 501(c)(3) clause like a club to put them back in line. Many of our older members just don’t want to here it.

    • worrisome says:

The churches- you can bet it is just Christian churches being watched…………..I doubt that any other sect/religion/cult is.

      • No offense to black conservatives and right-thinking blacks, but black churches are free from gov’t interference as well, just so long as they keep towing the Democrat Party line. Stray from that, and they will be attacked as well. Think Ben Carson, Allen West, Mia Love, etc., who are pilloried by the media for being Uncle Toms and race traitors.

  9. Ebola being brought into the US:

My DW and I were talking about this last night. Ebola is like a bomb with a working, ticking timer. And just because you have a group of people looking at it, does not mean that you have it under control. It’s still going to go “boom”. It will get out, it will spread. And it will be a mess that the government can’t control. No mater what they think.

    • riverrider says:

if dr. carson says be afraid of ebola, and he does, i’m afraid of ebola. this is a colosal screwup, or the worst attempt at germ warfare in history. this has been in my nightmares since i was a kid and first heard of it. now it seems like a premonition.

      • “Dr.” Carson has an honorary degree from a church college..”I’m not a doctor, but I play one on the interweb.”

        • riverrider says:

well thats funny, they let him do brain surgery at johns hopkins. must be sooome church.

          • Dean,

            Benjamin Carson Biography
After graduating with honors from his high school, he attended Yale University, where he earned a degree in Psychology.

From Yale, he went to the Medical School of the University of Michigan, where his interest shifted from psychiatry to neurosurgery. His excellent hand-eye coordination and three-dimensional reasoning skills made him a superior surgeon. After medical school he became a neurosurgery resident at the world-famous Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. At age 32, he became the hospital’s Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery.

        • worrisome says:

Dean, you are wrong on Dr. Carson, he has a long and distinguished career as a neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins. He has been listed in the top three of all neurosurgeons nationwide. Besides that he is very bright!

          • shorter dean: “Carson ain’t no real doctor”.

Except he is, a brain surgeon no less.

      • LittleAnniePrepper says:

Being the science person I am, this has also been a nightmare for me for decades (I’m middle aged). I’ve read a book about the coming of the plagues (or something like that). Once I did that, it only made me more frightened of these types of diseases. Prep more!!

  10. #3. I don’t know where he is getting his information from. Someone is seriously filtering. He truly has no clue what the American People want. Only what his “handler’s” want. Personally, I think they (that’s all of DC) would do a lot less damage if they did “twiddle their thumbs” for a while.

In Montana, our state legislators meet every other years for 90-120 days. The period can be extended by the Governor if he feels that they need more time. Works for us. I wouldn’t mind seeing Congress go for something like that. The less time they are in session, the less harm they can do.

    • Canyonman says:

AMEN, Brother JP. It would be nice to NOT see our tax dollars spent on Senate hearings for light bulbs, and steroid use in baseball, and a million other things they stick their noses into.

  11. That’s the truth , D.C. is a charlie foxtrot. If you want something screwed up let those bozos get involed.

  12. #8 – Whether there’s a vaccine or wonderful treatment, the medical facilities would simply be overrun.

  13. worrisome says:

They all say “the American People want”. Doesn’t mean that they have asked any of them in the last 20 years……….just like everything else they lie about.

  14. OldSoldat says:

Everyone needs to do what I do when I get angry at libs or the government more generally. Just google up some Rep. Trey Gowdy YouTube vids and watch’em LOL. He a boss.

  15. ChristineM says:

Canyonman, the first time I saw Joel Osteel on TV I thought there was something “off” about him. Same with Obama.

    1. I like the idea of the non501c3 Liberty Church Project. I’ve been looking for a church for some time that will address current issues and promote preparedness as a group. Can’t find one. The cowboy churches are popular and growing here. I don’t like that they use God to justify animal misery.
    4. I’d like to see this article rewritten considering meat that does not have the harmful roundup, antibiotics, nitrates, nitrites, artificial dye, etc. in it.

    • Canyonman says:

Amen, sister. He’s a complete and total fraud who has gotten quite wealthy telling folks what they want to hear – that God wants them to be rich. Interesting that most of the ministry of Christ revolved around every aspect of giving, and there is nothing in the Bible that states He ever owned anything.

His ministry poisons the minds of those who are seeking the Truth, making them think that they’re not rich because they’re not good enough for God or their faith is too weak. That’s what it all boils down to for him. He sickens me.

There is a special sublevel of Hell awaiting the false prophets.

      • ChristineM says:

        Well stated Canyonman.

OMG, my very first thumbs down, ever.

        • Canyonman says:

Good for you!! Remember, every second spent down-thumbing on this blog is one less second a troll has spent setting a small animal on fire…

And my wife also pegged the O-Hole at first sight. Said she’d never seen such dead eyes on a human being, “like two raisins on a muffin”.

        • I seem to get the thumbs down more frequently.

          • Gone West says:

I meant that as a general thumbs up, not a thumbs up to a thumbs down (does that make sense?? LOL). I for one like your comments!

          • LittleAnniePrepper says:

Ignore those thumbs down, Bam Bam. We love ya. Everyone except the trolls and they don’t count.

  16. HEADS UP: Nigerian President has declared state of emergency as ebola spreads across Nigeria. “The entire world is at risk”, he said. That’s the truth.

  17. CDC Bombshell: Yes, and the government is preparing for a large-scale outbreak. Before this outbreak, only BSL (4) labs/hospitals (such as the one at Emory University) could play with the Ebola virus. These are labs where you see scientists wearing containment suits and they work inside negative pressure and the materials are contained in a hood.

The CDC just released new protocol saying that medical personnel will be okay if they just have gown, gloves and mask. In a conference call one supervisor said that it’s hard to imagine that a thin plastic gown, gloves and facemask is enough when we are seeing CDC staff wearing the space suits to handle Ebola.

Half of the Ebola victims have been medical personnel wearing gown, gloves and facemask. It’s hard to imagine medical staff going into to work (putting their families at risk) because the hospitals don’t have the right equipment to protect them.

    • Inference: Expect high absenteeism at hospitals should Ebola spread in the U.S.

    • I hate to be right this time, but I predicted this a few days ago. And also predicted the medical system would collapse if these rules were enforced. As Bam Bam said, no one will go to work, and people will die because they can’t get routine surgeries performed in these ebola-contaminated hospitals. Bacteria are much easier to contain than viruses, and look how successful hospitals have been at containing staff. Yikes, I’m losing confidence by the second here.

  18. I’m really getting sick and tired of this hysteria over ebola. It’s just not that contagious. It’s like HIV, there has to be an exchange of bodily fluids . It’s the worst outbreak in history but only 1,000 have died in parts of Africa where there are 3rd world sanitary conditions. Local custom calls for washing bodies before burial which is the main reason for contagion. It’s not going to spread across America like the black death. In fact, I have to go to Emory University Hospital next Wednesday for a kidney evaluation so I can get listed for a transplant. If i happen to see one of the two ebola patients while I’m there, I won’t shake their hands. I take immunosuppresion medications, but I am not worried I’m going to catch something any more than I do normally when I visit the hospital.

    • We’ve known for 20 years that Ebola can spread via droplet and fomite transmission.

    • Gone West says:

You might want to rethink that – Ebola HAS mutated in the past, remember there are 5 (that we know of) strains. That means mutation from the original virus. What has happened once can happen again. If this virus mutates to airborne, all bets are off.
And if there’s nothing to worry about and this is all over-blown – “not that contagious”, why wouldn’t you shake their hand??

      • It has mutated. I posted an article yesterday or the day before that analyzes its genome.

    • Normalacy bias.

    • You will get even more sick and tired before this mess burns out, I believe. I personally asked Col. Jerry and Col. Nancy Jaax, the 2 US Army ebola researchers who discovered ebola Reston their opinion about ebola a few years ago. Both told me they feared this virus more than any other single biological threat that now exists in the world. I believe them. This was in 1999, the virus may be even worse now than it was then.

  19. The three countries most affected by Ebola (Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone) have quarantined a large swath of land (over 100 miles in diameter) so the virus doesn’t spread further. We have no news from the quarantined zone–no pictures from folks taken who live there, no medical reports, nothing for the past three days.

Flu Trackers is going off line for three hours tonight. I can’t access my regular info sites via Google.

I have to dig for suspected cases in the U.S.

    • Worrisome says:

Thanks bam bam for all you are trying to do keep us informed, this one is hard to get info on.

  20. HEADS UP: There are seven more cases in Nigeria and 139 people have been exposed.

  21. I just saw a PBS special the other night stating that the “The Black Death” was NOT bubonic plague and could possibly come back again. There’s something else for you all to worry about. Oh yeah, they’re not sure it was the flees after all.

    • It very well could have been ebola, what color dose blood turn when it is dry ? It has a black tint to it.

  22. Preachers/ministers outside of the church as persons, have freedom of speech like we do. Outside of Dr Michael Youssef,

…what other mega church preacher is doing this? They won’t speak out against evil in our society that involves gov’t because they are greedy and don’t want to lose their tax=free status for their millionaire lifestyles …..all for the love of money which they put higher than God. (I found the tax reports of these mega church ministers earnings and their property assets which blew me away)
