I thought this was a pretty good tribute video.

Not many left of the ol’ country singers. Sure will miss the fact he’s not around any more.

I will miss his unique voice and way of singing that grabbed your heart and twisted it. They laid a wreath upon his door…

RIP George.

He was the best country singer of all time. I hate this crap they are passing off as country today, I just hate it. There are few bands and singers that inspire these days, but MD, listen to the Quebe Sisters on Youtube and I think you will see these Texas gals still sing the real thing. Their rendition of “Going Away Party” and “Georgia on Your Mind” will blow you away. Heck, anything they do is top shelf entertainment.

I grew up hearing George on my parents record player. I grew to love him as well as Buck, Loretta, Tammy, Dolly, Lynn, just to name a few. Life seemed so good then, maybe just was because I was young ,but I sure wish we could go back to that simple life again. Thanks George even though I shed some tears as you sang my life. You sang from the heart of your every day life and that’s what made you such a star.

Rest in Peace George, this darn song still chokes me up.

You’ll be sorely missed.
