A gun owners last prayer…

Lord, make me fast and accurate let my aim be true and my hand faster than those who would seek to destroy me. Grant me victory over my foes, and those that wish to do harm to me and mine. Let NOT my last thought be, if I only had a gun, and lord if today is truly the day that you call me home, let me die in a pile of empty brass…

It’s sad that we have politically reverted to 1769.

riverrider January 31, 2013 at 3:34 pm

or 1850?

and lord if today is truly the day that you call me home, let me die in a pile of empty brass…

Hell yeah!

Increasingly thinking just this way myself. I feel sorry for my kids and grandkids (thankfully not actually my blood, so I’m spared the guilt that could be associated for causing them to have to be here when…). I’m just hoping the little lady is gone before me, and if I’m lucky, I will be too before TEOTWAWKI. But if I am, DITTO AND AMEN TOO.

Dying in a pile of empty brass sounds much more appealing than dying in some horrible cold gulag somewhere….

That’s right. If I am willing give up my guns then I am willingly walking into slavery. If I die fighting, then I will always be a free man.

Stonewall Jackson often told his troops not to fear battle , for God has already determined how or if they will fall . This can not be undone , to worry or fear it is to no avail , it is not for us to know . just to understand that it will not happen before gods determination . As a result , his troops accomplished much against great odds .

“the day and time of my death were recorded even before i first breathed air, why then should i fear it?” t.j.j. “only when you realize that you are already dead can you truly be ready to do what has to be done to be victorious”t.j.j.

And with each pull of the trigger a tear will fall for having to resort to mortal defense.

It is important to always remember that there are fates much, much worse than a good death.

Rangerup.com has it as a poster and a t-shirt.

ruggles January 31, 2013 at 8:55 pm

I always thought it was “Lord, if I die, don’t let my wife sell my guns for what I told her I bought them for”

Tactical G-Ma January 31, 2013 at 10:07 pm

May God keep their hearts strong, their wills alive and their souls ever ready to continue fighting the good fight.

Donna February 1, 2013 at 12:04 am

…and lord if today is truly the day that you call me home, let me die knowing I died saving someone’s life, for greater love hath no man to give his life for another.

Papabear February 1, 2013 at 1:26 am

Amen

Ah Crap February 1, 2013 at 12:49 am

I like to paraphrase General Patton’s remarks:

“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.”

Annie Nonymous February 1, 2013 at 8:14 pm

All I can say… is Amen. May the good Lord watch over us, bring us out of the era of darkness, and bless our seeking the freedom he endowed ALL men (and women!)… that He would drive those who beckon to, and kowtow to, the whims of those controlled by the evil one… and that he endow us with the strength of His mighty right arm to for once and for all crush those who work for the forces of darkness… and for all that our forefathers fought and died for, that we may, in our final moments, faced with the choice of turning to the darkness or remaining true to His grace and Glory, for all that come after us and the era they are faced with, God, please grant ALL of us your fortitude and strength and power to bring our progeny not to the glory of mortal man and their weakness, but to THY glory… for ever and ever… Amen.

JW M February 26, 2013 at 11:55 am

an amendment to the prayer:
let me die STANDING in a pile of empty brass…
