The New York Time at it again:
The nation’s police chiefs are finding an alarming increase in criminals’ use of assault weapons — the high-powered battlefield rifles that used to be banned, back when the federal government showed greater concern for public safety. The 10-year ban expired in 2004, despite the vows of presidential nominees from both parties to fight for renewal. Congress hasn’t mustered the guts to try, preferring to roll over for the gun lobby.
What I can’t understand, is how crime and police gun deaths are down? Could someone explain this to me…

The reason is the police's hands are tied so that they can't do anything that way people will demand the government take action. Don't worry Congress will find the guts to fight the gun lobby and take our guns when this Medical deal goes down. Uncle Sugar will buy the votes and then nothing will stand in his way to enslave us. Third World Nation here we come. You better buy more ammo and bury it because anyone that will stand up to his oppression will be fighting for their lives against U.N.forces. It's coming,we better be ready.
This is always such BS when they bring up this argument. The assault weapons ban never removed anything from the street, it only attacked cosmetic features for sales during the ban. Like these rifles have so much more firepower with a flash suppressor, bayonet lug and telescoping/folding stock. I never saw a decline in availability of high capacity magazines during this period either, just a large increase in price.
You have to remember that most big city police chiefs are political appointiees. Most big city mayors are democrats. Therefore, if a police chief wants to keep his job, he toe's the democratic party line which says guns are bad.
Greetings someone should explain to the police chiefs that assault rifles are not high power nor main battle rifles but instead under powered carbines made to be used in assaults or attacks at short range. they should know the difference.
I doubt there has been a single crime committed with a true "assault rifle" in the United States in the last 10 years, except for crimes committed by the police and BATF.
I got a good laugh from this nonsense:
"Polls regularly show that the public, including most gun hobbyists, wants more realistic gun controls."
LOL.
It is a fact that the LWM wants to start the ball rolling on the rest of the left wing agenda. This will also divert some of the attention away from socialized medicine and the government going bankrupt.
M.D. Its very simple the rules state that if you are a conservative you must present facts that are verifiable and that do not conflict with the progressive movement. If you are a progressive you may present any opinion you wish and claim it as "fact" even if it un-sourced and not at all verifiable regardless if said "fact" is then contradicted by you in the next paragraph or by another progressive.
I have to laugh at this one. Ok everyone relax, take a breath and a nice cold drink and listen closely. The fact is the use of said weapons is up ONLY if you do use the term assault weapon properly… to be an assault weapon it must be a selectfire arm… that is semiauto and full or burst capable. The incidence of the illegal use of these type three firearms HAS risen in the US, most notably in the southwest along the ….GASP…. Mexican border! But THIS is not news! it is simply the liberal media FINALLY reporting something that is 100% FACTUAL and then mixing it in with the lies… most notably the Idea that the ten year ban was on REAL assault weapons, which it wasnt, it was on SPORTING ARMS that resembled assault weapons to those with less knowledge than a novice. You people need to start getting YOUR terms straight… how the hell can we accurately lamblast the media when we cant even accurately identify the firearms by class? I own a fairly large collection of firearms including ak clones and ARs and other "black rifles" but I do NOT own one single assault rifle, YET.
