  1. That’s great news because anything would be an improvement over there…

  2. What? No bonus for putting up with his massive, bloated and completely unfounded ego?

  3. Say what u want about JWR; I’ve learned more from survivalblog & his books about prepping/survivalism than from any other source. There’s a reason that survivalblog gets more hits than almost any other such site.

  4. RedC,

Who told you that he gets more “hits” than any other survival blog? Where are your stats? According to Alexa traffic rankings his traffic is only very, very, very slightly above this blog and is below several others like SHTF Plan. Also according to Alexa his bounce rate (people that view the blog for only a few seconds is 80%! The bounce rate listed by Alexa for is only 34% a huge difference.

    • Mike, pls read my post again. I didn’t say JWR gets more hits than any other one. Note the word “almost.” Last year, I read something that said survivalblog got more hits than any other survivalist site except shtfplan. Personally, I’m not a fan of shtfplan b/c that guy uses fear in almost all his articles. & in my experience w/ people, fear is not the most effective motivator. As for JWR, I think that his books are better than his site, but his site is still good to very good. But then, I don’t need colorful pics to hold my attention; I’m more interested in solid, helpful content.

      • RedC

If his site is so great and helpful to you then why are you here? Obviously, his site isn’t giving you everything that you need so you have to come here to find real information that common preppers (most of us are not rich like that) can actually put to use in the real world. Most of us can’t afford to buy our own firetrucks, bug out airplanes or 100 acre retreats.

        • I don’t think gathering multiple opinions, and viewpoints is a failing. It seems to me that it would be a benefit.

          • YoTeach,
Amen. I normally haunt about 4-5 sites on this genre, generally at different frequencies, but the first thing anyone should do to really learn anything is to remove the chip from their shoulder, the plug from their ears, and learn to listen. Seeing things with different opinions and persepctions have always been the best way to see clearly.

          • Getting multiple opinions is why we all are here. It would be like saying you only read one persons comment here and ignore the rest. I personally look at three blogs a day with this being my favorite and JWR my least but I gotten some good info from his site.

  5. Let’s be cool guys…We love MD, but survival blog is a good blog, too.

This opportunity might allow a pack member to move to his BOL for good. We want all of us to have that chance, right?

  6. Hunker-Down says:

I thought about applying for the job but then wouldn’t have time to lurk here. I like it here.

  7. Jersey Drifter says:

Maybe he could hire one of the guys / gals that worked on the ObamaCare web site. I hear they might have some spare time on their hands.

  8. I applied. I could use another job, and I think I could even do his plus what I already do. Although he might find my own blog too woo-woo and be afraid I’d do that to his blog, I wouldn’t.
