Letter Re: “The Survival Doctor”

Except for trauma and injury, which American medicine handles well, what good are “real” doctors now? You go to them for help, they ask you what symptoms you are experiencing, you tell them, they give you a script for a drug that will suppress your symptom, and you will pay your bill and “feel better.” However, whatever is causing those symptoms is still working in your system, and will continue to make you even sicker. Even more, the drug you are taking will now cause side effects and other “symptoms” and you will return to the doctor who will order expensive (and more dangerous than we know) tests such as MRIs and Xrays–which will cause more symptoms in the future if not the present–and the doctor will give you more drugs to suppress your symptoms…etc ad nausea.

These same doctors know extremely little about nutrition, and don’t think it is important to health.

Perhaps American medicine will return to some sane and logical, helpful and meaningful ways of aiding people who are sick. Without all their drugs and tests, these doctors might even be useful again.

Full of blatant prejudice and ignorance of what I speak? Well, sure. Perhaps. And perhaps the criticism above is valid.

I guess we’ll see what the future brings…-Patricia

MDC Replies: Patricia you are correct about Doctors and current medical practices. They don’t care the disease for the most part, they only suppress or attempt to cover up the symptoms. My grandmothers Doctor treated her for arthritis, when in reality cancer was eating her life away. She eventually became so weak and sick that she could not get out of bed on her own. To make a long, sad story short, by the time they figured out what was wrong, it was two late. She died six days later. I am sure many of you have had similar experience’s with Doctors and modern medicine?
