How Many Acres? : “I once read that you need less than 600 square feet per person to survive. Personally, I want more than survival.”

The First Time Homesteader :  In the 30 years that we have been homesteaders, we have probably made every mistake in the book, at least once. This was partly because there was no “book”.

Show This To Anyone That Believes That “Things Are Getting Better” In America : “How can anyone not see that the U.S. economy is collapsing all around us? It just astounds me when people try to tell me that “everything is just fine” and that “things are getting better” in America. Are there people out there that are really that blind?”

40 Ways That China Is Beating America : “China is wiping the floor with the United States on the global economic stage, and most Americans are so clueless that they have absolutely no idea what is happening. The number one global economic superpower is in an advanced state of decline, and the number two global economic superpower is becoming stronger with each passing day.”

Detroit gun shop stops selling Bin Laden targets after CAIR outcry : “A Detroit gun shop has pulled its Osama bin Laden skeleton targets after an outcry by the the Council on American-Islamic Relations.”

Confederate past: Uproar over changing park names : Kennith Van Buren, a local African-American civil rights activist, said stripping away park names tied to the Confederacy or its leading figures were overdue. “It’s very offensive,” he said.

Jesse Jackson Claims Semi-Autos can “Blow Up Railroads : Rev. Jackson, this week boldly declared that, in addition to shooting down planes, semi-automatic firearms could also be used to “blow up railroads.” One word explains this guy… Dumbass.

Armed churchgoer prevents slaughter : “Charl Van Wyk, who carried a gun to a church service, shot back at terrorists bent on mass slaughter and ultimately was credited with saving hundreds of lives, says politicians should rise above the “politically correct” and do what’s right to save the lives of children and teachers.”

It Has Happened Here in America: The Police State is Real : “The Bush regime’s response to 9/11 and the Obama regime’s validation of this response have destroyed accountable democratic government in the United States.”

On Sheep, Wolves and Sheepdogs : “One Vietnam veteran, an old retired colonel, once said this to me: “Most of the people in our society are sheep.”

  1. md, my norton antivirus is going crazy when i log on here again, but obviously i get thru. “fake ad alert”mostly.

need a lot more than 600sf, believe me. we had 80 acres and it was still tight some years.

hope everybody checks out dr carson’s speech to tdl. good stuff.

    • riverrider,

Norton is junk – I don’t use it and don’t suggest it to anyone, to many false alerts, and it’s a resource hog.

Anyway, scroll down to the footer of the page and click on the Godaddy website protection button (I have to pay a monthly fee for this) it shows that the site was scanned today and was clean. You can also use the link below to scan any url (site address) for threats…. http://www.urlvoid.com/

      • I use Norton and I don’t have any false alerts. It also caught something that I didn’t think was possible when I was coping over a guys hard drive. Now they have trojans that attach to folders… not just files. Norton caught this and took care of the threat.

  2. Michigan gun shop may have punked out and caved on selling the Osama targets but if you really want one you can always print your own

Links to printable targets of all kinds- Can always spray glue them to cardboard or posterboard if you need to.

Since King Barack is determined put us in the sh…er…soup it might be good to have some Obama toilet paper to clean it up with. Though instead of taking sh…er…soup away it will probably just give you three times as much.

  3. I’d have to ask that Detroit shop owner what percentage of his clientele are Muslin and make a judgement from there.

  4. I resemble Lt. Col. Dave Grossman’s definition of a sheepdog. And he’s right about how some of the sheep resent the sheepdog/shepherd.

    • I’ve posted the link to Grossman’s essay here, numerous times, and I’m glad to see it keep getting posted until everyone has taken the time to read and heed it’s message. I attended his Bulletproof Mind Seminar a few years back and both he and his message are game changing. He’s also been involved in brain studies of kids playing violent video games, and predicted these shootings a decade or more ago. Hopefully someone will start paying attention.
I BTW, am a member of the Wolf Pack and a Sheepdog.

      • I started playing the very first “first person shooter” game when it was new. Doom and Duke Nukem was the beginning of the genera and talk about an addicitive game. Loved Doom to death… and I haven’t went on a shooting spree. Folks need to quit blaming video games and start blaming the parents for not teaching morals anymore. It probably doesn’t help that when I was growing up your folks or teachers could bust that arse and now they cant disipline you anymore.

        • SW,
Did you play these games for hours each day at age 10?

          • +1
We are in a constant battle with the wanton mayhem that is all around us in media and advertisements. Maintaining wholesome enriching content for children is a 24/7 job. It’s tough too when the kids go to school and are exposed to children of the radical left. I sometimes wonder how many of those kids are raising themselves.

    • I like the article, but I don’t fit in anywhere. Extending the sheep / sheepdog / wolf analogy, I would say I am definitely either a goat or a fox. I have no desire to follow the herd or run with the pack. I do not live in denial, I am constantly on the lookout for the wolf. But I have no desire to be the hero or protect the public, only myself and my loved ones.

      • Actually your own self description places you squarely in the Sheepdog category. You want to protect others, your loved ones specifically.
There are so many out there that don’t even think far enough ahead to want to protect even themselves let alone their family that they should be called lambs instead of sheep.

  5. police stopped david perdue on his way to catch a morning wave thursday. they let him pass, then seconds later a cruiser rammed his truck and multiple officers let out a hail of gunfire in his direction. looking for dorner. no warning. wrong truck color. wrong truck model. perdue is white. perdue is slim. so, why exactly should only the police have guns? btw, he was not hit. the two newspaper carriers have a lawyer. i’m feeling better about the revolution every day.

  6. oh yeah, the presidential marine guard marching in the inauguration, the secret service had their weapons disabled for the parade, after searching them for ammo……hmmmm.

    • Guess it just goes to prove the point that…. You shouldn’t trust anyone :)

Sure looks like the govt doesn’t. You’d think a Marine could be trusted.

      • riverrider says:

he must have REALLY pissed them off. he did after all fire general pettis, a beloved commander. not even to his face. he found out from the news. disrespect.

    • I may have posted this before, sorry if you had to read this twice.
This is common. When troops have arms meeting the President, any President, they are issued with bolts removed. There are usually a couple of ammo shakedowns before the event and if you are meeting the President expect to pass through a metal detector and be frisked. If you ever get the chance to meet with the SS and see their hardware you would be impressed. Talk about gun nuts. They have the funds and the contacts to carry some truly unique versions of various weapons systems. This is not really news and is not new.

  7. I have a problem with the article, “How man acres.” It advocates penning up the animals and feeding them the wrong type of food. You never feed a cow a diet of grain. They are ruminants and cannot properly digest grains. Chickens should not be penned either. The person who wrote this article has been deceived by big agriculture as to how to survive.

    • Ah Crap,
There’s a difference between penned and caged chickens. If you don’t pen your chickens around here, they become meals for the Raccoons, Coyotes, and Fox.

  8. “Kennith Van Buren, a local African-American civil rights activist, said stripping away park names tied to the Confederacy or its leading figures were overdue. “It’s very offensive,” he said.”

If you want to talk about offensive… how about them changing street and park names to Martin Luther King this and that. If you want to name a street or park after the man… I don’t have a problem with it. BUT don’t change a name of something just to credit him. If that’s the case then I want stuff renamed after Robert E Lee.

Or how about how there’s a African American Month, a Hispanic Month and god only knows what other kinds of month… but yet there is no white month. If we are going to be fair… then let’s be fair. Otherwise your just segregating part of the country.

Feds Set To Mandate “Black Box” Data Recorders In Every Car And Truck

    http://autos.aol.com/article/feds-set-to-mandate-black-box-data-recorders-in-every-car-and/?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl6%7Csec1_lnk2%26pLid%3D268884

    • Alittle2late says:

If it comes to that, I’m riding a horse!

    • The ‘black boxes’ are already in place, since 1996. OBD 2 controls that monitor emmisions also hold data that can be retreived such as speed, time, angle of steering, brakes or gas applied, ABS activated, seat belt use, and if the vehicle is equipped, temperature, GPS location.Police and insurance companies have quietly used this info to determine cause or fault of an accident. The ‘new’ federal laws will require even more data by the end of 2014.And they won’t need a warrant. OBD 3 is an update to faster, better electronics. The real fun begins with OBD 4, it will broadcast your info! Anyone with access will have all your info with a push of a a button. And if there is a problem,i.e. check engine light is on,your car will contact the police who will then send you a warning to get it fixed,if you don’t they can shut down your vehicle. There’s alot of stuff with the potiential for abuse that’s here already and much more on the way.

  11. The pieces from pssurvival were kind of fun but I must admit to being a bit skeptical of articles from a site dedicated to “survival after the coming pole shift due in 2013”.

China – All I can say is, it’s about time some other country took over the number one role we’ve held for almost a century now. It’s way past time for us to sit back on the porch and devote all our energy to our own country instead of being world policeman and king of the handouts. I don’t think of myself as a true isolationist but do we really need to continue trying to make over the whole world in our image? Let China try it for a while and soon a big chunk of the world will begin to hate them instead of us. And what can we do about the trade deficit? STOP BUYING CHINESE GOODS!! Nothing ticks me off quite so much as folks who complain about our high unemployment and lack of US manufacturing while in the same breath beaming over the money they’ve saved shopping at Walmart or Harbor Freight. Buy only US if you can and tell the manufacturers importing goods why you won’t buy their products.

Stopping sales of the Bin Laden targets – Seems a good idea to me but not only because of the Islamic stereotyping. Back when I was younger, the very idea of firing on a human effigy was considered sacrilege, but today, such is considered “normal” behavior and is even taught to young children just beginning their firearm education. I know that there are those who say such practice is “necessary” to be ready if you must take another life to defend your own, but like the violent first person shooter video games, I think we’d all be better off without such “hardening.”

    • Gee, that’s funny, last year that site was dedicated to “survival after the coming pole shift due in 2012”. Well, at least they’re keeping it updated…

Mercola has a new post on “vaccines”:

\Vaccine Propaganda Heats Up—The Latest Scandals You Need to Be Aware of

A wide range of vaccine stories have been featured in the news over the past few weeks – many, no doubt, published to propagandize the updated 2013 vaccination schedules for children and adults and to promote the seasonal flu vaccine.

Ironically, if not tragically, while increasing amounts of research highlight the many dangers of vaccinations and their ineffectiveness, the US government keeps insisting that everything is fine, “just get your shots and don’t worry about it. We know what we’re doing!”

But do they really? The evidence is overwhelmingly negative in this regard.

And, while suddenly paying lip service to vaccine safety, vaccine policymakers ignore the safest and most effective strategies that can naturally strengthen your immunity to help you stay well or move through illness with fewer complications if you do get sick.

Canadian News Anchor: ‘Gun Registration Will Lead To Confiscation’ (+video)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=_52pMg8qQcc

Living in Canada, Sun News Network anchor Brian Lilley has already seen where seemingly innocent gun control measures can lead. During a news broadcast this week, Lilley warned Americans that gun registration led to gun confiscation in Canada, and the same thing will happen in the U.S. if citizens don’t defend their Second Amendment rights.

Lilley also told the story of Ian Thompson, who was charged for defending himself with a firearm against four men firebombing his home in Canada.

“We are at a state in Canada where they don’t want you using firearms for anything. Ever,” Lilley said. “That’s the push. And as we look at what’s happening in the United States, that’s what’s happening.”

He went on: “So I’ve got a warning to my American friends: Registration will lead to confiscation. And if you don’t believe me, just look at what’s happened here.”

    • You are right, there is nothing “innocent” in the madness of gun control going on in the US right now.
