John P. Avlon takes a look at anti-government, militia, patriots, oath keepers, minutemen, civilian guerillas, paramilitary groups, white supremacist groups and survivalists.
It would be nice if this lunkhead knew the difference – instead he talks about each as if they are one and the same. But did you expect anything better? Typical…

“The problem with a fanatic is not that he is willing to die for his cause, but that he is willing to take you with him”. Robert Heinlein, fron his book Friday.

Your typical left wing slant & agree with IdahoBob, what a steaming load of crap!
Isn’t it interesting that the rise in “hatriots” comes in direct proportion with the attempts of eliminating our constitutional rights as American citizens.
By the way, coining the phrase “Hatroits” is a pretty low blow to all the patriots living in our country today & who died upholding the ideals of the US Constitution & Bill of Rights.
That writer is a spineless simp ~
This article is irritating, but that was the intent. People in general seem to lack the ability to entertain themselves, they have to turn to American Idol, TV, Radio,(Insert addiction here). Our news is just providing what the masses want: cheap entertainment.
The real problem is we are allowing ourselves to be played with like puppets. All mass media has some sort of political affiliation that gets woven into reporting. When you combine this left or right bias with overdramatization and sensationalism, you end up with an article that implants that biased agenda or its antithesis in readers at a deep emotional level. It’s hard to remove idealogy that has been planted this way, and with the wide spectrum of our mass media all this is really doing is disenfranchising us as a nation. Instead of us being able to see through the fog and collectively do what’s best for our country, we’re left fighting each other over the same old trivial left vs. right issues. Ergo, we get screwed regardless of what party is in office because they are all the same. If we could stop fighting the same battles and chasing the proverbial carrot that the media dangles in front of us, we might actually be able to find some candidates who would actually represent our best interests.
