No Money Left: State to Release Thousands of Felons

Prison Gates Open January 25

Starting January 25th, thousands of dangerous criminals will be released early from California state prisons – and for the first time in nearly 30 years, sent back to local communities without any supervision,” stated the Los Angeles Police Protective League.
“The County of Los Angeles will be dramatically impacted, with over 5,000 felons to be released to our city,” said Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) President Paul M. Weber. “What concerns law enforcement is that unlike the current program, where released inmates have been placed on parole, restricted from certain types of activities, or provided various community-based rehabilitative resources, these inmates will be completely unsupervised.”
“The only condition for these released inmates is that local law enforcement officers are allowed to search them without a warrant. However, since local law enforcement will not know who these people are, that is a virtually useless provision,” Weber said.
“We can expect crime to go up as a result of this massive release, considering California has the highest recidivism rate in the nation, with seven out of ten parolees reoffending then returning to the prison system,” added Weber.
For months the LAPPL has been warning the public that the prison gates are going to fly open in order to close the state budget deficit.

Do you have enough ammo?

They are going to do the same thing in Florida due to the economy. The felons used to be supervised by probation and parole officers but they are talking about laying off probation officers. I hope the community feels safe!

So they're releasing prisoners. Are they cutting food stamps (or the modern, debit card equivalent)? Are they laying off social workers? I think they decriminalized medical marijuana, have they eliminated other prohibitions?

Of course if they cut food stamps, they'd get riots that bring back memories of Rodney King.

It appears crime does pay. What can I say,the government is leading by example. All you can do is like Jay in NC says and be careful when you go out. My problem is I live in the Communist State of Illinois and there aren't any concealed carry rights so I have no way to protect myself. Also buy more ammo and bury it for later if you have to. The people will demand government action and you know what that means, outlawing guns and there goes all of our rights. It's coming,we better be ready.

What sucks for Californians most is that they have very strict gun laws. So they are told, "You don't need guns for self defense. We have Police and Court and Prisons to handle criminals. Don't be a vigilante." And now the "justice" system is failing them but they abdicated the right of armed self defense.
May God have mercy on them. because MS13 won't.

And just how many of these are actual "dangerous" felons? It only takes more than one ounce of pot to make you a felon.

I see this as a push by TPTB to panic the sheeple in Kalifornication, so they can justify, even while the state goes bankrupt, more prisons, more gestapo, more control,

Michigan has been doing this for about three years now. The Michigan Department of Corrections has been able to close 8 prisons and camps over the last few years because of all the "rehabilitated" prisoners they have released. Detroit, Grand Rapids, Flint, Saginaw, and many other cities have seen spikes in their crime rates, especially robberies and violent crimes. County prosecuters are up in arms in their protests but these protests have fallen on deaf ears in the Governors Office and with the Michigan Department of Corrections. If this isn't a reason to be a heavily armed citizen I don't know what is.

We shouldn't just assume all of them are going to do harm but that there will, likely, be some whether or not they are supervised. Instead of looking at this like a victim would…I thought we were safe, etc. etc…. why not learn how to defend one's self. Everyone that's not a criminal should and that is because, like those who ended up in prison, they had to commmit the crime before they ended up in prison and they were someone's friend, brother or sister, mother or father, aunt or uncle, etc. Anyone has the potential to commit a crime and I don't see why we should be so much more aware of those who are in prisons(or getting out of them) than just being aware that…any person including our selves could find ourselves commiting a crime and be one of "those people" at some time whether it be for selling drugs, being a drug lord, being a rapist, being a petty thief, being a car thief, being an abuser, being (whatever)…that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. P.S., don't forget to think about the fact that any lock can be picked and that while you are in your shower, bed or kitchen, an intruder can get in without breaking glass or breaking down the door when he or she knows how to pick locks. I know that 13 pin locks are harder to pick but and still they can be picked. One can always use a bar of soap to ward off an attacker but that is really slippery especially when you have the soap in your hand and you squeeze it to use it to blind someone (now for the "watch the soap fly trick"). I don't think the shower brush would do so well either. Not even a slipper could help. I think it would be a mistake to bend over to pick up something with an attacker or rapist nearby. Maybe the towel unless you are in the middle of rinsing off and don't hear the S.O.B. Bar the doors and windows! Hmm…I wonder if a glass cutter would cut through the window and let an intruder in very quietly while people are sleeping…Safe in our homes? Safe sleeping in a car? Safe anywhere? Well, people are people and there are some that commit crimes. Good luck to the ill-equipped and I pray that no person commmits a crime today nor harms anyone.
