  1. Nebraska Woman says:

Blatant hypocrisy: the act of being against guns and yet hiring people with guns to protect you from those carrying guns who are out to harm you.
Blatant hypocrisy: the act of making millions from violent gun scenes on TV or movies and being against it all in your personal feelings.
    Well, well, well…

  2. I firmly believe that you should support the causes you believe in. But them I expect you to have nothing to do with the thing you are against. Many of these people are doing it just for the publicity, because it is expected of them and their social group.

Whoever, “If I were King” you would not be able to have a gun, or be protected by “private security” who have guns, if you are opposed to personal ownership of guns. NW is right, it’s just hypocrisy.

  3. Some are just useful fools, the sheeple of the entertainment world, I find it so wrong for “actors” to make their money using every possible weapon in movies for example, then come out “against” guns. disgusting, my dollars will go elsewhere in 2014…..

  4. Donna in MN says:

Those demoncrats who suppport the big O are all on this list. Big Hypocracy here as Neb Woman said. They don’t know our constitutional rights and most are pretty dumb on it.

Yale college professor Khan took gov’t funds in a grant and did a study to see how dumb Tea Party People were compared to Demoncrats. What he found was astonishing with the National Science Foundation standards of evaluation…..Tea party people were smarter than Demoncrats. I think this was worth the tax payers money, but you won’t hear about this study in the lame stream news!

    http://politicaloutcast.com/2013/10/yale-professor-stunned-learn-tea-partiers-smart/

    • Nebraska Woman says:

Donna, don’t you just love it when liberal eastern professors at liberal colleges are stunned to read that they have been “outsmarted” by us who are not “educated” to their standards?
But then again he was smart enough to get the money from us…
      Thanks for the link.

    • Of course, you might have overlooked the professor’s comment at the end of his more nuanced summary, “Of course, I still subscribe to my various political and moral assessments–all very negative– of what I understand the “Tea Party movement” to stand for.”

Also, his preceding statement: “…the relationship is trivially small, and can’t possibly be contributing in any way to the ferocious conflicts over decision-relevant science that we are experiencing.”

Or in other words: no big deal.

    • worrisome says:

Here is my take on it all. Guns in the hands of the criminals and the criminally insane are the problem. In their haste to do “something”, they are doing the easy thing. Taking out the low hanging fruit, meaning the lawful, that will in fact, stand in line to register a gun. They are too cowardly to do what they need to do. As in throw a ring around the south side of Chicago or any other gang related hell hole like it and go in and start taking guns away every chance they get. This ‘gun control” thing is only going to make things worse. And we all know that when the government gets involved in anything………it can get much.much.wqrse.

  5. Thanks for the info. I will do my best to not support the people and organizations. Should be fairly easy since I usually don’t watch TV. or movies. LOL

  6. The world is amazingly full of fools and hypocrites.

    • I thought interesting, mainly these groups. All Medical which is tied to Govt, Many Black Organizations, Mainstream Churches of the left, the Jews surprised me a little, and then of course all the Hollywood and Business left leaning politically.

      • worrisome says:

I saw Alec Baldwin on here…………..all I could think about was it may be a good thing he is anti gun, especially if he doesn’t have any of his own…………..talk about someone needing anger management……………..

  7. Can a person believe in some gun regulations and still support the Constitution? Still believe and own guns?

I own guns. As a family we own even more. I also support some regulation. My real pet peeve, and I don’t support a law for it, is gun owner responsibility. I do not understand why people can spend thousands of dollars on weapons and ammunition and won’t spend the money for a steel gun safe bolted to the floor joists. Or a trunk safe welded to the frame of your vehicle. If your weapon is not holstered on your body or in your hand it should be locked up where your child can’t get to it, and the average criminal can’t steal it. That simple precaution would curb gun violence more than anything else, and prevent thugs from stealing and then selling our guns to be used criminally. I believe the vast majority of gun owners mean to be responsible and never want anyone innocent hurt with their weapons, but I am not so sure that they are willing to do anything to make sure of it. Last night we were in a neighborhood celebrating the New Year, and I can’t even count the number of gun shots we heard at midnight. Idiots shooting wherever, probably after drinking, in a neighborhood. At least with fireworks they will only blow off their own hands or set a neighbors roof on fire.

    • Congratulations for one of the few sensible comments on this post.

    • I agree with you. I support the right to bear arms, and I support legislation to keep guns out of the hands of people who abuse them. Being for gun control does not mean being anti-freedom. It’s just about being reasonable.

  8. exile1981 says:

Half the celebrities on that list are not even US citizens. Most of them are useful idiots. Of course most of the A list celebrities have huge squads of body guards. Ok I think they should have to give up their security before they can sign that petition.

    • I think you’re missing the whole point of why they have bodyguards in the first place. (Hint: most actors in gun-controlled Great Britain—or France, or Germany— don’t employ armed guards…)

  9. Hunker-Down says:

    What’s behind a name?
The American Firearms Association is on the list.

  10. lurker judith says:

I find it shocking how many Jewish organizations are on that list. What ever happened to “Never Again”?

    • Ironic, isn’t it? Bet they dont have that policy or think that way in Israel, while the ones on that list would be horrified if they were to disarm the folks there.

  11. It’s easy to see why they are all for gun control its loaded up with ACTORS pretending to be GUNFIGHTERS now with the economy collapsing we are going to see REAL GUNFIGHTERS pretending to be ACTORS(sans camera’s).

  12. mom of three says:

WOW this list made me dizzy. I only support our church, focus on the family. The actors on this list are a bunch of washed up, angry people who waste the air we breath.

  13. Swabbie Robbie says:

Hmmm Football teams are against guns while the same people they support are wanting to ban football because people might get injured or even die by playing that violent sport. Will we see similar anti football lists in coming years?

What really gripes me is actors like Mark Harmon who plays Jethro Gibbs on NCIS who in his role on the show is a former sniper who took the law in his own hands to assassinate a man. Why wouldn’t such an actor refuse that role – at least in such episodes?

Sean Connery – 007, Sylvester Stallone – Rambo, Judge Dredd, The expendables? Gimme a freakin’ break!

  14. plus ANYTHING for money

  15. Kinda interesting that I didn’t see a single actor/actress or organization that I really give a crap what they say or think. Hmmmm :)

  16. Pete, the Windy City Viking says:

A big thank you to M.D. for the list!

I’d love to know how many of the people on that list own a FOID card as well…hypocrisy runs deep…

    • Donna in MN says:

Some of those people have been dead since 2009. Are they talking about gun control beyond the grave? Are they still allowed to vote? Have they appeared on the Walking Dead?

  17. I see a BUNCH of celebrities whose movies & TV shows I’ll be BOYCOTTING. If these IDIOTS don’t support the constitution, I will not be supporting their fancy lifestyles.

Has it “occurred” to them that THEY have for decades been setting bad examples for the public with their shoot-em-up roles — shooting everything that moves? OR that their bodyguards carry GUNS to protect their sorry behinds.

WHY DON’T WE JUST BAN GUNS FROM BODYGUARDS, MOVIE STARS, and MOVIES? That should get rid of 99% of the violence.

  18. Terry Hackett says:

What are your plans when there isn’t enough police to protect you idiots. That is WHY we got this amendment to begin with, to keep each person free. There will be trouble. It’s a given, but your the type of people that do the most yelling when things go bad.

  19. hmmm -

I have no tv and haven’t had one for 10 yrs, no cable etc. prior to that for many more. I used it for a plant stand for quite a while lol.

no pro games for me – overpaid adolescents – football is one of the most violent sports – how many more are going to suffer brain concussions and the debilitating after effects that they are starting to research – and yes – the game kills – buncha steroid using adolescents I tell ya

I work in a hospital (you’d be surprised how many of my coworkers own, and are card carrying members of the NRA etc.) One of the best was the ambulance crew that went by a very peaceful demonstration in support of our right to bear arms – waving, and hitting the horn! Only had one car call us names in the 3 hours I was there.

I don’t buy movies, very few CD’s, – kills me not to buy music cause I love to dance my way through my chores – in the grocery isle etc…but again – it’s about NOT paying for spoiled brats – though musicians are a much more decent lot than actors imho. Actors are hypocrites – violence in movies….etc.

So in my own way I’ve been boycotting most of these folks for years (more than 20!) and will continue and will renew my efforts to be sure I boycott all of the above.

Happy New Year everyone – be safe and watch your backs!

  20. Hey, thanks so much for a concise list of folks to support / vote for/endorse and recommend. Without you, I might have forgotten one or more of these sensible, level-headed people working to keep firearms out of the hands of crazies, wackos, sickos— and the mentally ill too.

  21. Will Wynn says:

    This IS my surprised face.

  22. short answer: who cares.

long answer: celebrities et al are just people. Organizations are nothing more than a collection of people that reflects a collective opinion of the opinions of their members.

People are entitled to their opinion. Fortunately we have the 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution so that their opinions don’t matter. Even if they are a majority, our Constitution is intended to prevent a majority from trampling the rights of a minority, or a one.

  23. Wow what a comprehensive list of both organizations and people supporting gun control.

  24. The list missed actor Edward James Olmos who is a staunch advocate of gun control. He is also one of the single-digit FEW civilians to receive a CCW in Los Angeles County. Apparently, it’s O.K. for him to carry, but no one else. F’n hypocryt!

  25. wolfwalker says:

I agreewith the lot of you about these actors that make millions of dollars a year doing action movies and tv series, then spout of about gun control. I guess they’re entitled to there opinion, just dont force it on me.

My mother and grandmother were like that. My uncle was murdered by his wife in the early seventies. She tried to claim self defense but she got two friends to dispose of the body and he wasnt found for two weeks. Açcording to them, me and my brother werent supposed to like guns. Couldnt even own a Ruger .22 pistol till after they passed. I dont blame the gun, I blame the shooter, and dont force an opinion on me. I’ll make my own decision and I’ll hear you out and decide. I’d like to know what happened to being able to do what you want as long as you dont hurt anyone.

As far as actors and hypocrisy goes, the biggest one on that list is Michael Douglas. He did the voice of Patrick Henry on the kids cartoon Liberty’s kids about the American Revolution. The guy has done protests and has said that we need to put our security in the hands of the U.N. I’m sorry, but if you dont believe in this country, dont take a roll like that.
