Before we start with this weeks segment, I would like to give a shout-out and a big thank you to Sherry S, Peter W, Katharine N, Vanessa M, and Angela M for their generous donations via PayPal this week. Thank you.
I need to worry less and sleep more, but I know that’s no always possible without strong medications, that I refuse to take. No, I’m not worried about me but about you. Things are accelerating rapidly, both toward economic collapse and an increasingly tyrannical out of control government. And most folks are not prepared.
A lot of folks were about to panic during the recent “government shutdown”, even a few readers of this blog that seemed to be in shock and ready to start shooting people.
What do you think will happen when federal and state governments are forced to cut employees by 80% or more? When nationwide unemployment surpasses 25% and ”benefit programs” (food stamps, government-funded housing, disability etc.) are eliminated?
How about when federal government seizes government pension funds, then private retirement funds, then private bank accounts – taking your money, in an attempt to stay afloat.
Or when they make owning gold and silver illegal, then start confiscating or forcing you to “sell” it to them in exchange for IOUs or federal reserve notes (monopoly money)?
It’s coming folks – what did you do to prep this week?
This week, I drew a map of my property, marking locations for more fruit and nut trees and other food bearing plants that will be planted next spring. I’m also expanding the number of raised beds in my garden area. I’m going to double my current number of laying hens, and build another rabbit hutch. And possibly add several ducks to my flock.
As you can see most of my week was dedicated to planning, and looking for areas where I can improve or expand my level of self-reliance – without spending a lot of money. No personally owned fire trucks or bug out airplanes for me, just keeping it simple and realistic, here at “last stand” (the name, that I’ve giving my retreat).
Okay, now it’s your turn – what did YOU do to prep this week?
