Question from Anti-zombie
Watched a documentary on the “Black Plague” which was caused by a bacteria transmitted through rats (or their flees). I constantly battle mice and the occasional rat on my farm and have kept them at bay through various brick poisons, cats, traps, etc.
I was thinking how when TSHTF normal pest control will surely be unavailable. Some have allergies related to cats and once satisfied they are pretty worthless anyway. With all the presumably dead corpses that will be a part of the landscape I can see where BP and other related plagues might again rear their ugly heads.
Maybe you or the pack can comment on how to control this and other pests in a post-shtf scenario. Just food for thought.
M.D. adds : I keep a stockpile of rat and mouse traps and poison. Also don’t feed them – dispose of all potential food items properly, this includes dead bodies and animal remains. Also homemade repeating traps like this one work great and cost little or nothing to make.
