We are quickly approaching 13,000 subscribers!

Well folks I’m happy to announce that The Survivalist Blog.net is approaching the 13,000 subscriber mark. While I’m not going to brag by claiming, that we have more far more subscribers than any other survival type blog, it would be safe to say that we are in the top five.

Thank you…

  1. Welcome to all the new folks!

    Great numbers, M.D.

  2. Does that mean you want some of us to unscribe 🙂 ?
Since holidays are out of the way may start prepping again. No big preps til March have to pay off all debts first

  3. MD
Welcome everyone! The larger the pool of resources and info the better we all will be. A network of like minded people will help carry the messege of freedom, liberty, self reliance, strength, honor and peace.

  4. worrisome says:

wish more of them would post that is a lot of wisdom that they could be sharing!

    • Worrisome, not all of us have wisdom to share or otherwise. I read to learn, and I’ve learned alot. Thank you, MD, and all the wolf pack. Thanks so much!!

      • Aunt B,
You may not think that you have anything important to share, but you would be surprised by what people can learn from everyday stories and little posts.

      • worrisome says:

Aunt B, bet you are wise in ways that some of us hasn’t even thought of yet.

  5. Mystery Guest says:

  6. Thanks for all you do MD. This blog has helped 13,000 people on their journey to preparedness. Your efforts are appreciated more than you know. You have probably viewed a kazilion posts and read a bizillion emails. You have tolerated more than your fare share of snarks, trolls, and rabid admirers.
If and when S really does HTF you can rest easy knowing that you did everything you could to help all those people. Even the trolls. Your name alone would gain you a place and entrance to any retreat (well almost any, you know humpfff) if you needed sanctuary. You would always have a place with us.
Many Blessings to you Alpha Leader!!

  7. Dean in Michigan says:

Especially a lot just over the past year and a half, if I’m not mistaken.

Just goes to show that an ever growing number of people can feel that ‘thing’ coming just around the corner. The powers that be can’t keep everybody fooled forever.

  8. Hey MD, Do they have a Prepper’s Choice Award? Ought to have.

  9. Congrats! Looks like more people are waking up.

  10. riverrider says:

i find it odd that less and less are posting though. seems like just us diehards on here. glad folks are looking at least. congrats!

  11. PGCPrepper says:

Meh. That would work MD to death. I think it’s more newbies getting worried and attempting to glean info from those that have knowledge. Folks have a natural proclivity to find a group that you can identify with. I always presume that many folks are reading me when I espouse a mindset on the net. I am not surprised about the #’s.

    • PGCPrepper says:

This response should have been in response to my friend worrisome above. It might make sense then. 🙂

      • worrisome says:

Now I get it…….was wonderin! 🙂 and you have a point

        • PGCPrepper says:

Yep….I messed up by not posting as a reply to your post. Just meant that I’m not surprised at the #’s and probably good that MD doesn’t have to moderate 13K posts per day that does not contribute to the “greater good” similar to my last three posts. LOL

    • U2redneck says:

I can speak for one newbie…gleaning is what I’ve certainly been doing! Thank you for those ‘older and wiser’ folks that post and thanks M.D. for doing all you do!

  12. Tactical G-Ma says:

Congrats MD. Your vision and mediation keeps this blog alive. I love having your blog as a resource and a social network. Keep up the good work.

I was just thinking more are posting. In October, a number of regulars quit posting because of politics, I think. I miss them and some are just too busy right now. But we have some really great minds posting now too. And there are more all the time.

    • Tactical G-Ma,

      Thank you…

After the re-election of Obama some of his supporters that had read the blog left, with one readers farewell message stating that “he (Obama) is doing the best that he can” and a few that disagreed with my prediction that during his next term that he would be coming for the guns. Now we see how that turned out…

      • MD, i wasn’t a member then, I think I started to read this in November after the election.
I sent someone of like mind here this morning. Hope he shows up!

      • Tactical G-Ma says:

I remember telling someone in 2007 that he was a dreamer or a liar and if elected none of his promises would be kept. I think a lot of people just can’t imagine that such deception could bring down this country and if Mr. Hagel is confirmed as Secy of Defense, we will be a lot closer to sleeping with the enemy. We just keep prepping.

        • riverrider says:

g-ma, the cia nominee is even worse. he ADMIRES the jihadist and says it a legitimate outcome of islam.

          • Tactical G-Ma says:

I knew that but names slip my mind. That’s kinda like hiring the fox to guard the hen house isn’t it?

      • Rider of Rohan says:

MD, I was about to tell you how good you are at predicting the future, but then I thought about Obummer and realized it wasn’t that difficult to know the guy was just waiting for the right opportunity to get our guns. The right opportunity coincidentially occurred right after his re-election. Very strange coincident, it’s as if it was planned that way.

      • wicked props says:

I’ve read at lots of different blogs and after the election tons of Obots were calling “us”(as in like types) crazy and Obummer wasnt coming after our guns “your all just nuts”.
well, like you said and we all thought

      • SurvivorDan says:

Not sure what the subscription does since I read this nearly daily, but I just joined MD. Felt like a slacker. Thanks for your hard work.

        • SurvivorDan says:

Just got my confirmation email. Since you have new content nearly every day but I check nearly every day it won’t matter.
I rarely….so rarely…… even look at another prepper/survivalist site because I get all the practical advice/knowledge that I can use/learn…….right here!
But congrats MD! Maybe I’ll be number 13,000…

        • SurvivorDan,

By subscribing you’ll receive new posts in your email or RSS feed so you never miss a post…

          • I just did the same thing, been on here close to 2 years but never signed up but did today. I think you are closer to over 15,000 if all the regulars that are not signed up would sign up.

          • SurvivorDan says:

            Couldn’t hurt. 🙂

  13. I’m curious, does that count people like me who get updates throut FeedDemon (which I believe uses RSS)?

  14. MountainSurvivor says:

Congratulations and thank you for your dedication and persistence.

  15. Alittle2late says:

    Thanks M.D.
Thank you wolf pack for sharing your knowledge so freely. I was just a lost curious sheeple when I stumbled upon this eye opening wealth of knowledge. lucky for me I was prepping and didn’t even know it. Now I’ve got a good sense of direction for where I want to be when the shtf. I just wish I could contribute more, I never was very good at getting my point across on paper.

    • Alittle2late,
You being here is what is important. I think you will find the more you prep, the more you learn, the more confident you will become. I am sure in your journey you will have something to share, even if it is encouragment and prayers to others. I can only speak for myself but I am sure the others would agree that knowing that you and your family will survive with the knowledge you gained here is the biggest contribution.
You may help others on your path. That is all that is needed.

  16. Gimme 3 Steps says:

I am one of those new subscribers, however, I have been reading for sometime now. I have to say that for the most part what is posted here is “good” stuff wether it be advise, suggestions, thoughts or just good natured conversation. So, my thanks to MD and the pack. Others have said that it is good to be here with like minded people and I have to agree because often with my line of thinking I sometimes feel like the turd in the punch bowl. Being here to read and think and learn and plan helps my blood pressure drop. Ok enough of that..I actually did not think I would even make a post but I will share this for now. The 10 yr old and I are planning our annual winter 2 night camp out. Last year it got down to 25 degrees. We will have a tent and sleeping bags, canteen and water filter, mre. He will make fire without matches…basically this is a teaching-learning and overall a enjoyable experience for us both, but, gotta tell ya..getting to old to sleep on the cold hard ground. I will let you know how it turns out!

    • Gimme,
“Turd in a punch bowl”!!!!! Died laughing. Welcome to the Wolf Pack!
Have fun camping. I have two Girl Scout troops and I DONT sleep on the hard ground anymore. Not if I want to walk the next day. However, you will freeze to death on an air mattress in the winter. I have a down mattress topper I fold three ways and it is WONDERFUL! I roll it up in my bedroll. But, I need a pack mule to carry it very far.

    • G3S, Two words. Hand warmers. Buy them at Wal-mart. Put them in your underwear, your pockets, your sox, etc. You get the idea. They make all the difference for this Mom who camped and hiked with Scouts for all those years!

    • Rider of Rohan says:

Hahaha…I’ve been known to throw a Baby Ruth or two into punchbowls and swimming pools in my younger days. Good one, Gimme 3 Steps.

  17. Congrats MD! You definitely earned your spot at the top of the prepper blog world and we appreciate your wisdom and your leadership.
PGC Prepper, you are in my prayers. May God bless you with healing. It would truly bless us all for you to regain your strength. Your wisdom, humor and kindness are a real blessing.
Here is a little encouragement for the folks new to prepping. I recently calculated the food and medicine preps I have collected over the last four years. One of those years my husband spent many months out of work so we were working with only my salary. Just by avoiding expensive toys, shopping smarter without increasing my food budget, and in spite of rising prices, and in spite of adopting a homeless dog and 2 homeless cats, I have collected food and medicine preps with a replacement value at today’s prices of approximately $4,600. I only spent about $2,500. That doesn’t even count the chickens or my security preps. Where else can you get that kind of return?
Start now. Buy a little each month. Check out MD’s article about starting with a shopping trip for the basics at the local Wal-Mart in “popular posts”.
Buy the items you regularly use, when they are on sale and rotate them so nothing spoils. Stop splurging on dinners out on a regular basis and cook real food, it is healthier and cheaper. You will also find that you will have less illness when you eat real food. Oh, and buy a gun and ammo while you still can.
Thank you to all the pack. You are in my thoughts and prayers always. God bless you all.

  18. tomatogal says:

This is the first blog I try to read daily and the source of a lot of new or confirmed info for me. I think most folks who post know more than I, except on growing heirloom tomatoes, but will try to start contributing more to the general comments. Patti, I keep telling everyone I want to talk to, that purchasing a little here and there, does not hurt the budget and is an inflation fighter. Whether people are “true preppers” or not, they seem to grasp that being a few meals ahead is not a bad thing.

  19. Can’t recall when I joined, as I have always felt at home with like minded people…
Found that what M D says, regarding politics, prepping, most anything, is true. Nothing fancy no twisting and turning to accept his opinion…just black and white truth. Put it out..take it or leave it. I respect this…respect MD’s knowledge and judgement. Greatly appreciate the Pack, we are like minded and draw comments from personal experience or knowledge, which is invaluable. Read more to continually learn, appreciate the comments and laughter. Whether you joined this road to prepare for political shif, natural disaster preparedness, or to save $$$ by stocking items needed in our lives, as a hedge against inflation…we all can bank on one thing…America will never be as it was few short years ago.
Thank you M D…the Pack…and I’m proud to be here

    • Tactical G-Ma says:

I don’t know why people who disagreed with MD’s political views left the blog. No one was ever belittled or attacked because they disagreed.
Sometimes there are remarks made by a cubbie that I find a little too radical for the times. I think MD does a great job keeping things in perspective.

      • Tactical G-Ma,

I bet they are rethinking their stance on the issue now… After exactly what I said was going to happen is happening…

        • worrisome says:

Do you think that really? I think that the left wing believers, believe without ration and nothing can change that mindset. For those in the middle on either side, right or left, it is always a struggle because we have to always be trying to ferret out the truth

  20. Severed Head says:

“Cult YouTube gun channel boss found shot dead on rural Georgia road.
Keith Ratliff was found shot to the head but had cache of weapons near him He ran YouTube channel with three million subscribers and all videos combined have been viewed more than a HALF BILLION times 32-year-old man leaves behind a wife and two-year-old son”

    • Tactical G-Ma says:

      Severed Head,
      Interesting alter ego

He does make a valid point. Mr. Ratliff became popular but also attracted crazy people. But so did John Lennon, Jody Foster, and others who had nothing to do with controversial topics. But the more high profile the greater risk. Hope you always keep vigilant.

      • Tactical G-Ma,

I always watch my six… Hopefully I can at least take a few of them out before they can finish me off. A lot of folks don’t realize it but running a popular blog or website that goes against the ”norm” can be dangerous.

I’m seldom farther than arms length from a gun… and I have a lot of alarms and warning devices in place.

        • PGCPrepper says:

Just sent you the same article before reading this. Disregard but look out. This world is getting crazy.

        • careful MD,
remember what they did to that poor family on the mountain, FBI snipers do not care, take out kids and dogs! Your best friends could be the local police/sheriff’s department, at least they can call you in advance!

Might want to organize some ringed security in depth with the other locals, mountain watch, like neighbourhood watch only with rifles and binoculars. Both of our countries are following set proven patterns of rule that led to millions of people dead, Gooberments never learn, and who is pulling their strings anyways! Puppets in power.

        • Tactical G-Ma says:

If you ever feel threatened my DH and I will ride shotgun for you.. And I got peeps.

        • Mother Earth says:

Wow MD, it never occurred to me you would be in danger for hosting this blog. That’s just sad that God fearing American citizen who is trying to help people would have to worry about their safety. That just goes to show how bad a shape we are in. May God keep you safe!

          • Mother Earth,

I’m just cautious, after Keith Ratliff from FPSRussia was found murdered, I’m even more so. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been directly threaten for my views.

The funnest was one guy that said he was going to come to my house and beat me up then rape me…

        • It’s only against the norm if you’re a sheep.

    • worrisome says:

Wonder what a “cache of weapons” were in the opinion of the reporters…….could have been nothing more than a bb gun and some kids toy bow and arrow set?

      • georgeislearning says:

Not sure exactly what kinda office this was. If its where they keep the weapons, its amazing the firepower this group has access to. Check out some of his videos. FPS Russia on you tube.
He did a video not to long ago where they had a uav had 4 motors flew like a helicopter and had a small machine gun on it. freakin awesome. mini guns 50 cals I mean like every gun there is.
Check his videos pretty cool stuff. Sad this happened to his producer.

    • georgeislearning says:

Some thing is off with this story. I’ve watched FPS Russia for a bit over a year now. His producer was the one shot in his office. He had guns nearby. Seems someone he knew and trusted was able to get in the office. With the weapons he had its not like the door is unlocked. Time will tell where the story goes but I doubt with 13000 subscribers MD has anything to worry about, at least no more then the rest of us.
The guy that should be worried is Alex Jones. He seems like he’s pissed off a few peeps in the world.
may God watch over us all and keep us safe.

      • georgeislearning,

13,000 subscribers and and an adverage of over 30,000 page views per day isn’t chicken feed LOL… That is a a good size reach for an online blog site. But I hope you’re right…

        • georgeislearning says:

I love your site so much I view it around 3 x per day. morning lunch and after dinner lol love to read the comments the information everyone contributes is wonderful.

  21. M.D.
Thank you for all your hard work on this. I have learned a lot and look forward to the postings everyday. I didn’t agree with some of your politics, but to stop reading or posting because of that in my opinion is very short sighted. I hope those people that have left come back as they not only can still learn, but usually have a lot to offer regarding prepping. The whole purpose of prepping is to be prepared if it hits the fan. Why it hits the fan is irrelevant, you still have to prep for it. People should stay focused on that, even if they don’t agree politically. Just my .02.

  22. Indianaprepper says:

Mr. Creekmore unable to send this to you any other way this is not an entry Just something I felt that the pack should know about

This is something that should never be aloud to happen they are using gun control and every other dirty trick they can as a smoke screen to get everything they want . which is to gut and rape the Constitution of the United States this has to stop. it is time to take out country back from those that mean to enslave the American People. they should be impeached and tried for treason, as they are traitors. I know that most people will not agree but that is what they are counting on to pull all this off. God Bless America and God save us.
I contacted my congressman about this and he stated the more people pushed maybe this could be stopped. I am wishing good health to all the pack keep your powder dry

  23. recoveringidiot says:

Your work here is very much appreciated. One good side effect of blogs like yours is that lots of folks start out just looking to learn about prepping and soon start to see how today’s idiot politics can and will have a huge effect on our quality of life not to mention our freedoms.
Your site is tops because you allow us to give feedback and even differing opinions, I don’t see that at all except for some really boring forums.

    Congrats and many thanks

  24. I tried to get another pack member over here yesterday. I don’t know if he checked out the site yet.

  25. Thomas T. Tinker says:

Meet up! Feb. 2nd… Saturday.. Rossford, Ohio. Buck Road Exit of I-75. DENNY’S. 08:00 A.M.

No seditious talk. No ranting and raving. Leave your ego and camo at home. Dress will be Casual Saturday… A calm adult conversation regarding current domestic affairs.

No RSVP is needed….. just show up. Your screen name is all the introduction you need give.

  26. I remember when the number was more like 1500 !!

  27. Richard J. Medicus says:

This is off topic, but extremely important.

Have you contacted your state and federal representatives, the NRA and the NSSF yet?

The NRA and the NSSF are meeting with the VP and his cronies tomorrow. Let them know how you think. Put pressure on your representatives to back HR 35 which was introduced by Rep Stockman of TX. The bill would repeal the “Gun Free ‘Kill’ Zone” laws.

    Please do this NOW!

  28. Copperhead says:

Great news! Congrats, MD!! Blessings to you and the whole Wolf Pack!

  29. Caio César says:

Well, I believe that I am a proof that The Survivalist Blog breaks the borders. And I hope that keep breaking new borders, because every wolf here has a little experience to pass on.
