San Antonio Theater Shooting

Shots fired, patrons panic at San Antonio theater from Encourager

Has anyone who isn’t a local heard about this shooting in San Antonio?? Two days after CT? This was posted on Facebook.

On Sunday December 17, 2012, 2 days after the CT shooting, a man went to a restaurant in San Antonio to kill his X-girlfriend. After he shot her, most of the people in the restaurant fled next door to a theater. The gunman followed them and entered the theater so he could shoot more people. He started shooting and people in the theater started running and screaming. It’s like the Aurora, CO theater story plus a restaurant!

Now aren’t you wondering why this isn’t a lead story in the national media along with the school shooting?

There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. SHE pulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to kill anyone. So since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun, the media is treating it like it never happened.

Only the local media covered it. The city is giving her a medal next week.

Just thought you’d like to know.

I remain disgusted with the media’s deliberate attempt to whitewash news while at the same time creating their own narrative for whatever sinister reasons.

The Grey Wolf December 31, 2012 at 11:04 pm

I just turned 33 and was thinking the same thing! What is a practical solution to not get angry I wonder and still stay informed?

Can only agree with you.

SurvivorDan December 31, 2012 at 11:23 pm

Ditto. Only angry yellow man.

Very interesting. Not surprised the media didn’t nationalize it. God forbid they would report that a good person would stop a bad person thereby saving many other good persons. Not part of their agenda.

Considering how many states and municipalities are cutting back their police forces due to lack of money, I will not be surprised to hear of other such incidents.

Hey Pack, plz post whenever you hear of such things in your area. If barely reported, would certainly make good info for those who write letters to newspaper opinion pages (or other to post on other forums).

This is the first I’d heard of it too. And I spend a fair amount of time on gun related blogs that usually carry this sort of story.

Nope , haven’t heard a word ………..makes sense why

DITTO!

This likely won’t fit the narrative either. Nothing in the NYTimes; prolly won’t be on the TV media much either.

“Police found a flare gun that could be used as a grenade launcher, a modified Mossberg 500 12-gauge shotgun, nine high-capacity rifle magazines and ammunition” Also,
“high explosive material used to make bombs, bomb-making instructions, including one document titled ‘The Terrorist Encyclopedia…”

The reason this does not fit the narrative of libs and gun control activists is because of where it was found and, maybe, who possessed it. Looks like some allegedly *cough* bad peeps had some bad things in a very gun controlled city (NYC) and a NYTimes search gets *crickets*

Will ‘seed’ this article onto social media. People need to know of s’good’ gun toting stories and such an egregious example of media bias.

SurvivorDan December 31, 2012 at 11:34 pm

It would be nice if everyone would spread this story via social media. Use your friend’s Facebook page. Whatever. Just get the word out.

This is a perfect example of how the only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. But, since it was an off-duty LEO, it’s not an example of how “regular people” being armed helps stop massacres. Some in the media could even twist it the other way by saying that *ONLY* LEOs are capable of stopping a tragedy and then using this article as proof.

I heard one brief little segment about it. I guess it wasn’t sensational enough to help ratings and it does show the benefit of carrying a licensed weapon in public places.

Just shows how sick we have become as a society,

I saw it on Facebook too. I have shared it so as to spread the information and help viewers understand just how one-sided the media can be.

EthanP December 31, 2012 at 5:35 pm

I suspect that few if any readers of this sight need a reminder of media bias. I do thank you for informing us of something the MSM “overlooked”.

NANN! January 1, 2013 at 2:17 am

I saw a small blurb about this the morning after it happened. It was hidden in with the “older news”. The article I read made no mention of the girlfriend being killed or even shot, nor anyone else…just that he had fired many shots in a restaurant, then went next door to a theater, where he was shot.
The headline I saw said “shots fired in theater parking lot” and the article said only one person was in the parking lot of the theater. I knew something sounded very wrong with this story. Thanks for the ‘update’.
I believe you’re dead on about the reason for this not being national news.

Talked to a friend of mine who sent me this link from the San Antonio news. The media is so blatant in its bias, even the local news is apparently minimizing the off duty cop saving lives.

Well, wasn’t that a watered down version of what happened!

BTW, I wasn’t the one who WROTE the above article – I copied it completely from the site I found it on. Note M.D. said ‘from’ not ‘by’. I don’t want to take credit when it isn’t due to me.

I like the idea of us posting every incidence we come across so we can send it on to family, friends and congress-people. So much is blacked out so MSM can continue their biased reporting.

GA Red January 1, 2013 at 10:46 am

The DH and I repost many articles for friends and family to read on Facebook. The DH also posts information and quotes from The Federalist Papers. We have found that much of our family supports the second amendment and reposts many of the articles we share.

Mexneck January 6, 2013 at 11:35 pm

Everyone knows about our left leaning media in San Antonio. The mayor is a communist and we have a lot of obumer supporters in the hand out side of town.

EthanP January 7, 2013 at 11:52 am

If the left has this kind of clout, incuding the PC textbooks in the public schools, what chance do the restn of us have?

Stephanie January 8, 2013 at 2:47 pm

I heard about it the day it happened. I work for a law enforcement agency east of San Antonio and try to keep up on the latest “leo” type daily/weekly news. I too expected it to on all the various television networks, internet, etc. I found it on one page only and that was only a brief synopsis of the incident. I found that extremely suspicious that it wasn’t, for all intensive purposes, reported media wise at all.
