I have this habit of listening to talk radio every night before going to bed and while the subjects are usually varied and interesting, lately they have grown insipid with talk of the 44th president to be Barack Obama and his plans to rebuild America. I usually end up turning the radio off while fighting the urge to throw the damned thing through the wall in a fit of disgust and disbelief that people could be so naïve.
I will admit not being a big fan of McCain / Palin, but I voted for who I felt in my heart was the lesser of the two evils. This is the first time I had voted in years and instead of casting my vote in support of McCain, I pressed the button against Obama, and while four years of a McCain presidency seemed daunting, living the next four with Obama in the White house is downright horrifying.
I have long thought that the majority of people in this country were dumber than a bucket of rocks and considering the number of people who voted for and seem to worship this guy pretty much proves my reasoning to be correct. He is not “the Messiah” as some seem to believe, far from it. He is a far left liberal Democrat, who will push his agenda down our throats, through a windfall of legislative action and policy change within days of taking office.
Leading economist predict collapse by summer 2009 following Obama economic policy changes. Keep your assets tangible; meaning out of the banks and markets. During Russia’s economic collapse many people who had put their assets in the banking system, found the banks closed and their deposits inaccessible after their collapse.
Remove yourselves from the system as much as possible. Get out of debt or just walk away leaving everything for the bankers to contend with. Go off-grid; invest in survival preps, junk land, and a travel trailer or other debt free shelter. Work in the underground economy, barter, live a survivalist existence and stay low and out of sight, avoid attracting the attention of the authorities, it is best to stay invisible, remember the best way to win a fight is to avoid the confrontation altogether.
My plan for stockpiling survival food consists primarily of four basic foods: wheat, honey, powdered milk and salt. After you get the basic four foods in the needed proportions then it is a simple matter to add other foods as you get the extra money. Pinto beans, mixed beans, rice, split peas and canned meats, fruits and vegetables can be added with little expense and will add variety to your diet. And don’t forget to include pepper, baking powder, baking soda, canned yeast, dried eggs, cooking oil, multivitamin and mineral as well as extra vitamin C caplets.
Invest in a good set of firearms, plenty of ammunition and spare parts. There is no need to spend a truck load of cash here, a surplus bolt action rifle, single shot 12 gauge shotgun, .22 rifle and Smith & Wesson model 10 will take care of just about everything you could need a firearm for. Sure you could spend $10,000 or more on an arsenal of weapons that would make your friends green with envy, but if you are like most of us who are strapped for cash, don’t feel under gunned or unprepared if all you can afford is a budget arsenal.
