Ten Must Have Self–Sufficiency and Preparedness Books

by M.D. Creekmore on May 22, 2009

Survival BooksI am often asked for recommendations about survival books and other self-reliance gear, it seems a lot of reads are afraid of wasting their money (who can blame them?) and want to be given a heads up as to the bad and the good.

Just yesterday; a reader sent me an email asking for my advice. He posed a hypothetical question “if I could choose only ten books related to survival and self-reliance what would they be?

This is really a good question, most of us do not have hundreds of dollars with which to buy a library and many books cover the same general ideas and techniques.

Another consideration, at least for those of us that live in small spaces like a travel trailer, converted school bus , van or other dwelling is space – we simply have nowhere to store a lot of books and related paper. Choosing only the best and complementary titles become necessary.

So here is the ten “must have” self – sufficiency and preparedness books for your bookshelf. Keep in mind that this is my own personal list, tailored to my survival plans and location. Your needs and final decision could differ with from those given…
