I’ve spent a lot of time away from the utility pole and the water meter. It’s not that bad – it just takes getting used to.
When I lived in a van, my nights were spent reading under the light of a LED headlamp. These things are work great and leave your hands free for doing other stuff. I highly recommend you have several.
Try washing dishes, preparing food, cleaning or repairing your guns or even going to the bathroom in the dark while holding a flashlight and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
These lights aren’t expensive and I’ve never had a blown bulb and they are very energy-efficient with batteries lasting up to 120 hours of continuous use. I’ve tested this and the batteries actually held up past the manufactures 120 hour mark. I turned the light on and left it on.
For the first couple days I only checked it once a day, after the third day every few hours. On the fifth day I set it up on my table so I wouldn’t miss the actual time that it went black.
The batteries gave it up after 132 hours and ten minutes. It’s rare to find a product that actually exceeds the manufactures claims, but this time, I was pleasantly, surprised by the performance of this product.
