Thursday miscellany

Welcome to the American Gulag: Using Involuntary Commitment Laws to Silence Dissenters : “What happened to 26-year-old decorated Marine Brandon Raub—who was targeted because of his Facebook posts, interrogated by government agents about his views on government corruption, arrested with no warning, labeled mentally ill for subscribing to so-called “conspiratorial” views about the government, detained against his will in a psych ward for standing by his views, and isolated from his family, friends and attorneys—has happened many times throughout history in totalitarian regimes.” Thanks to Scott G for the link.

Panel Actually Debates if DOJ Should Prosecute Anti-Islam Pastor Terry Jones for Libya Deaths : In the wake of the tragedy in Libya, where U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed by a frenzied mob over an anti-Islam movie, an MSNBC panel took the time Wednesday to discuss who should be held accountable. One of their suggestions? Anti-Islam Pastor Terry Jones, who has burned the Koran in the past and promoted the film that allegedly sparked the most recent wave of violence. Thanks to Scott G for the link.

117,000 Americans Get Jobless and Disability Benefits: Roughly 117,000 Americans double-dipped by cashing unemployment and Social Security disability checks during the height of the jobs crisis, costing taxpayers a combined $856 million in fiscal 2010 according to a government watchdog agency. Thanks to Gwen C for the link.

Why The U.S. Dollar’s Reign As World Reserve Currency Is Ending : “The mainstream media in the United States is almost totally ignoring one of the most important trends in global economics. This trend is going to cause the value of the U.S. dollar (NYSEARCA:UDN) to fall dramatically and it is going to cause the cost of living in the United States to go way up.”

Defiant Christian Radio Host Under High Tech Attack, FBI Suspected : “The man, who broke the bombshell interview about private detective Doug Hagmann’s informant’s warning that DHS was planning for “massive civil war” in America, has recently suffered several suspicious and serious technical problems disrupting the distribution of his weekday programming.”

Real Wealth, Gold, and Why Government May Want You on Food Stamps : “When the gold price rises, this means there is less purchasing power and confidence in paper money. Most Americans don’t have enough money to buy gold. They spend every dollar they make.”

Brad Pitt doesn’t feel safe without a gun : “Brad Pitt ”doesn’t feel safe” unless he has a gun hidden somewhere in his house, and feels owning a firearm is ”in his DNA” as an American.”

    Has anyone hard from Chloe?

    • Home’r…wow, I heard that shout out all the way over on my SOTP…just logging on and scrolling/reading the posts…saw your post…and started LOL…

Have been busy…and overdid it again and my knee is sore again – I’m getting old and seem to be falling apart…carrying heavy containers is the cause…too hard on the knee…

so, limping about most of the last few days…had to get a backpacker in to help me with some of my preps…

washing more cans etc in prep’n for my next wheat purchase – by the way – a huge price increase has taken effect, as asked the salesperson when will he get his next fresh shipment in – he wanted to let me know of the big spike in price…wow…and when I asked him approximately how much of an increase per bag…he wouldn’t even venture a guess…just have to wait and see (both of us) until he receives his next order…

Also…guys, it is almost the end of the year…what happened with this year – time seems to have just flown…

I had too many projects going on at the one time…so, had to get my head down, and b**t up and just get it all done.

Prices here have gone way up in my neck of the woods…shocking. Am watching all the weekly specials and buying what is required.

It has been months since I have seen the cheap boxes of matches in the stores…so have been buying the other brands…

Was able to get a heap of buckets (some without lids) for free…last time I had to pay $5 each for them.

That fridge I got for free some months back from the big smoke died…so will take it to the dump next chance I get…also, my dryer only works for about 10 min’s then stops…so, too expensive to get repaired, as repairman wants $80 just to look at it and give me a report on what is required for repair…it only cost me $30 from a garage sale – years ago…so, got my money’s worth out of, will get myself a new larger dryer.

When I get a chance will post more…cheers to all, prayers sent out each morning for those that need them, big hello to any new cubs and all the lurkers.

      • Homeinsteader says:

So good to hear from you, Chloe…we were worried! (Sorry if I hurt your ears…..giggle).

Now, how many ways can you, our most creative pack member, perhaps, come up with to repurpose the pieces/parts, or even the whole, of that refrigerator and dryer? Hmmmm…

We on this SOTP have long been spoiled with low food prices and fuel prices; that is changing by the day. But, if careful, one can still get low prices on the things we need/want – but must hurry.

Blessings to you and all that is yours,

        • Homeinsteader says:

PS: Get you some wheels and turn one of those into a wagon, so you’ll stop carrying heavy things and blowing out your knee. Just one suggestion… ; )

        • that was a funny post Home’r…made me LOL again…cheers. catch up on the new WDYDTPTW…

  2. Homeinsteader says:

That Brad Pitt LIKES guns is pretty amazing considering his liberal left-wing political views and partner, and the fact that they both just LOVE Pres B-HO.

    • Homeinsteader…So…someone viewed as a “Liberal” is deemed odd because he/she believes in owning a gun? Not all “Liberals” are tree-hugging, homosexual, pot smoking peace-niks on welfare.

Besides, it’s not black and white what “Liberal” or “Conservative” mean; individuals can have a combination of both positions. I believe these designations have become too easy to use to judge and denigrate anyone who does not share the same views. I myself, am “Liberal” about some things, and “Conservative” about others. Examples: I believe there is a place in society for “helping others” (ie: welfare) (= “Liberal”)…with certain rules (=”Conservative”). I believe it’s ok for people to immigrate into the US (= “Liberal”), with rules (= “Conservative”). I believe that conservation and preservation of the environment is crucial, and I am a member of a couple of orgs that address that (=”Liberal”), and I own a gun and will kill for food and self-defense (=”Conservative”).

I actually do not see these positions of mine as “Liberal” or “Conservative”, nor do I see them as conflicting. They are the result of my life experience and weighing the facts of each thing I encounter, and drawing conclusions based on that…reasonable conclusions for me, that allow me to live in peace with the world around me.

Brad Pitt and his wife have done a great deal of good. His commitment to helping New Orleans rebuild continues. Their giving a home to children who need one continues. I have a great deal of respect for them, though I also feel they hold some political views I do not agree with. I choose not to judge them on what we DON’T have in common.

If we are all God’s children, then we are ALL God’s children. And God is the only judge. Just sayin’…..

  3. So Brad, you need a gun to feel safe? Then why o’ why do you support obama? Maybe because you know that since you’re such good buddies that he won’t take yours away? After all he wouldn’t lie.

American Embassies Around The World Under Attack Right Now

“For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.” Obadiah 1:15

President Barack Obama turned his back on Israel in their struggle to stop Iran from building a nuclear bomb. PM Netanyahu asked to meet with him and Obama said no. That was Monday. By Tuesday after noon the embassy in Egypt was under attack. By Wednesday morning 4 Americans including the US Ambassador Chris Stevens lay dead in the streets in Libya. Obadiah lays out a definite spiritual principal that when nations come against Israel they will be judged. What you are seeing right now playing out in the headlines is the beginning of God’s judgment on America.

From Reuters: Demonstrators attacked the U.S. embassies in Yemen and Egypt on Thursday in protest at a film they consider blasphemous to Islam and American warships headed to Libya after the death of the U.S. ambassador there in related violence earlier in the week.

Obama said security was being increased at U.S. diplomatic posts around the globe and on Thursday the U.S. consulate in Berlin was partially evacuated after an employee fell ill on opening a suspicious envelope.

About 1,000 Bangladeshi Islamists tried to march on the U.S. embassy in Dhaka after protests earlier in the week outside U.S. missions in Tunisia, Sudan and Morocco. The U.S. military dispatched a Marine Corps anti-terrorist team to boost security in Libya, whose leader Muammar Gaddafi was ousted in a U.S.-backed uprising last year.

The attack, which U.S. officials said may have been planned in advance, came on the 11th anniversary of al Qaeda’s attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001. source – Reuters

Obama’s calculated destruction of the American dream

In his groundbreaking bestseller, The Roots of Obama’s Rage, Dinesh D’Souza explored how President Obama’s upbringing and early career molded him into a man who viewed America as the great colonial exploiter, oppressing and taking advantage of the rest of the world. Now, in his shocking sequel, Obama’s America: Unmaking the American Dream, D’Souza reveals how Obama’s anti-American worldview has given us everything from Obamacare to Solyndra—and what disasters the next four years will hold if Obama wins a second term.

“Never before in American history have we had a president who seeks decline, who is actually attempting to downsize his country,” says D’Souza. “America is now on a short path toward becoming the shortest-lived superpower in world history.”

In Obama’s America, D’Souza exposes how President Obama’s vision for America is far different than what Americans would expect from the president. Contrary to conventional wisdom, Obama’s actions are not “misguided” or those of an “amateur,” but are the results of deliberately destructive policies. For President Obama, America, as a whole, is the 1% and must pay by transferring its wealth to the global 99%. President Obama’s ultimate goal is not to spread the wealth from rich Americans to poor Americans but to shrink America’s footprint in the world and transfer its wealth and power to poor countries.

D’Souza describes President Obama as “the architect of American decline,” content to see America lose its superpower status. Obama’s America shows how President Obama’s plan to “fundamentally transform” America is so drastic that the “shining city on a hill” is destined to become a shantytown in a rather dangerous global village.

    Obama’s America reveals:

Why Obama is not a conventional liberal in the mold of Bill Clinton, John Kerry, and Jimmy Carter, but in fact sees America as the plunderer and himself the restorer.

Why Obama appears to promote green energy by thwarting off-shore drilling in America yet his administration has bankrolled $2.84 billion for off-shore drilling in Brazil, Columbia, and Mexico.

How Obama plans to use debt as a weapon of economic mass destruction to downsize the United States.

  9. I look at the miscellany and just shake my head. The Libya thing sounds like an excuse for a planned attack. It wasn’t an embassy but a consulate located in a house. But after seeing the pictures of the ambassador being dragged out, I would be having my DOD and State sending a “strongly worded note” stating something like “you have 2 days to find these guys and hang them publicly or you will loose your port facilities and oil fields”. The last check they would have gotten from us would have been yesterday.

But then I’m just a bit of a radical who is tired of making excuses for the bad behavior of others.

  10. DOJ even thinking about prosecuting that man is more proof at just how weak willed and irrational this nation has become . Somebody in another country commits an act of war ……attacking another nations embassy is and always has been an act of war , instead of looking at it like we should , which is , you kill 1 of ours we are going to kill 1000 of yours …… dont want that …….then cool your shit ! We have more bullets and bombs than you have people ……..think about it . Yes it IS the responsibility of those in charge of a nation to protect embassies from their own people .

REPORT: Obama Has Appealed Yesterday’s Indefinite Detention Ruling

This sent a chill down my spine. In the midst of my interview with Tangerine Bolen, a plaintiff in the lawsuit against the NDAA’s indefinite detention provisions & coordinator of, she received an email from her lawyer to inform her that the Obama administration has already appealed yesterday’s historic court ruling. That court ruling found indefinite detention to be unconstitutional, and issued a permanent block of that provision. Listen to the full interview directly below.

For a man who doesn’t want the ability to order the military to abduct and detain citizens – without charge or trial – it is quite odd that his administration is appealing yet again.

  14. Obama is a staunch supporter of the Cloward-Piven strategy. Increase welfare benefits to the point where either one of two things happen: collapse the system or increase taxes to the point where it collapses the system. Either way, we are screwed. The more I learn about Obama, the more scared I get for this country.

  15. While the embassy attack in Libya is a sad thing to happen, and with increased demonstrations at US facilities in Egypt and other near east locations, I believe it is only a matter of time before the next Executive Order placing us closer to a Fearless Leader proclaimed National Emergency is only days away.

Watch as the twist will start leaning to ‘We are at war, and this is not the time to change leadership.’ I do not trust this government, and consider it a ‘conspiracy theory’ or not, I would not put it past our government having played a role in it at some level. Even the death of a US Ambassador I would not put beneath them to attain whatever goal of the times they wish to achieve. The issue is try to prove it, just like trying to prove Kennedy was assassinated by a covert US force; if they can kill a President and get away with it, what is an Ambassador to attain a specific goal?
Time will tell, but that is the “writing on the wall” I interpret.

Hundreds Of Muslim Rioters Reach Jerusalem

Riots by Muslims that began on September 11, 2012, have reached Jerusalem, where demonstrations were held after Friday prayers at the Al-Aqsa mosque in the Old City.

The protests began peacefully with several hundred people demonstrating on the plaza that holds both the Al-Aqsa and Dome of the Rock mosques, chanting, “With our blood and our soul, we will sacrifice for you our Prophet.”

Riots in Gaza over the film Innocence Of Muslims has spilled over to Jerusalem today.

But clashes broke out between a part of the crowd and Israeli police as the demonstration moved out of the Old City, with security forces firing tear gas and stun grenades that injured at least five people, an AFP correspondent said. Several policemen were reportedly hurt.

“Israel police are dispersing rioters at Damascus Gate, rocks and stones are being thrown at them,” police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told AFP.

An AFP correspondent at the scene said demonstrators appeared to be trying to head to U.S. diplomatic premises in east Jerusalem, with Israeli police, some on horseback, seeking to prevent the protest from moving.

In Gaza, thousands of people rallied at demonstrations in Gaza City and the southern town of Rafah, a day after the ruling Hamas party urged citizens to turn out for protests after Friday prayers.

Protesters waved the flags of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements, and set fire to American flags, chanting “Death, death to America, death, death to Israel.”

Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh, in a sermon during Friday prayers, repeated a call on Washington to apologize for the film, produced in the United States.

“The US administration should apologize to the Arab and Islamic nation for this offensive film and bring these criminals to justice,” he said.

Haniyeh said the film was the result of “a Jewish-American-Crusader alliance to ignite a war on Islam and sectarian strife, particularly in Egypt.”

The amateur production called “Innocence of Muslims,” which was virtually unheard of before this week, has sparked violent protests across the Middle East.

USA Economy: Real Help vs. Shell Games

The Federal Reserve just announced a so-called “QE3”, which is economist lingo code for increasing the money supply. The Fed will buy $40 billion every month in bonds, etc. to “hold down short-term interest rates” (they hope), but where do they get the money? Not long ago, they would have had to actually pay for these bonds, or print the money, but today it is a simple click of a computer mouse to create dollars. Such is the ease in the world today now that our money is undermined.

These intensified shell games have been going on with the Fed during the last few presidencies. Weak economy? Artificially stimulate the housing market. Trouble funding the budget deficit? Have the Fed buy the bonds from the Treasury. In fiscal year 2011, the Fed bought over 70% of new debt issued by the Treasury, surpassing China in that period as the number one buyer of our debt.

The official word is that it is to keep interest rates down. Lower interest rates by creating money out of vapor? That does seem like alchemy, but just as the alchemists were never able to turn anything into gold, this sleight of hand will not work forever.

First of all, even the thought of flooding the money supply would normally create an expectation of inflation that would raise interest rates. For the moment, the Fed is holding that at bay by focusing on the purchase of those interest sensitive bonds. A smaller supply of bonds means lower rates for those who buy them, and in effect a lower “official” interest rate.

Secondly, the European economic situation has made the USA look safe. More on that later, but let’s just say that if Spain is too big to fail, it is also too big to save.

Thirdly, a key aspect to the game is shorter and shorter terms on the national debt. Big creditors are more willing to accept lower interest rates on short-term debt since they will get their money back sooner, can reinvest in something else rapidly, and perceive that they face less risk. By focusing on short-term debt, the Treasury has been able to force down interest rates for the moment. However, all of that debt will need to be rolled over when it comes due. If the government were smart (cough, cough),while interest rates were low they would be issuing long-term debt to reduce the overall interest cost. Instead, borrowing massively using short-term debt reduces today’s expense at huge, unknown future cost. Unlike when a person pays off a mortgage, the government just rolls the debt over and borrows again. What happens when interest rates surge? What happens if in ten years there are few willing buyers for our government debt?

The Fed is like a bull fighter holding a red cape in front of a bull, except the cape is massive bond buying using pretend money.Sooner or later the bull always notices the guy holding the cape

What CAN we do that really does help our economy?I discuss this issue in further detail in my book, but clearly when we buy what we produce here in the USA, we do so much better. We create good paying jobs here. We take those good men and women out of the unemployment lines, they pay taxes instead of collect welfare, and so on.

We really do make a difference with every USA-Made purchase!

None of what is coming should be a surprise, and we all have the ability to be prepared.

For all of my prepping, and all the teaching of others to prep, the greatest of all the preparing we can do is this: to know Y’eshua/Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior.

Nothing to fear – which is not to say there is no responsibility, no work to do while we remain on this blue marble, on our parts. But absolutely nothing to fear!

Wonder if our Pack Members Down Under are seeing this yet?

Attacks on German and British embassies in Sudan, the ransacking of an American school in Tunisia, a fire at a U.S.-based fast-food restaurant in Lebanon and attacks against multi-national peacekeepers in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula were among the latest targets in protests that turned violent.

The unrest reached Australia, where hundreds of demonstrators clashed Saturday with police outside the U.S. Consulate in Sydney.

Top Western diplomats warned leaders in countries where the unrest has been most pronounced to ensure the protection of its missions and its people.

OUTRAGE! Obama’s State Dep’t Demanded ‘No Bullets In Guns’ For Libyan Embassy Security

State Department Rules of Engagement for Libya

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Fox News military analyst Colonel David Hunt laid the blame for the murder of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans at the Benghazi, Libya American mission on Hillary Clinton and the State Department:

The State Department just allowed our guys to get killed. If you approve no bullets in guns for the mission security guards and an outhouse for a mission, you’re inviting it.

Earlier, on Howie Carr’s radio show Thursday, Colonel Hunt said that the American mission at Benghazi “was like a cardboard building, there wasn’t even bullet proof glass.” In addition, Hunt said the security guards inside the mission didn’t have bullets:

Howie Carr: They weren’t allowed to have bullets, is that correct?

Colonel Hunt: That’s true. They were private security. The rules of engagement were ridiculous.

Hunt told Breitbart News that the new State Department Rules of Engagement for Libya, approved and signed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton since the 2011 fall of Khadafi’s regime, severely compromised the safety and security of murdered Ambassador Stevens and all American diplomatic staff in Libya.

Society now criminalizing parents that allow children to play in the yard – What is the world coming to?
Saturday, September 15, 2012 by: Ethan A. Huff, staff writer

(NaturalNews) A Virginia mother was recently interrogated four times by police, and visited twice by social services, after neighbors spotted the mother’s children playing in their own yard unsupervised, and decided to report the non-incident to local authorities. According to Lenore Skenazy of Free-Range Kids, such hysteria and Stasi-style paranoia are becoming the norm in America, where children are being excessively coddled, overprotected, and treated as though they are always in grave danger of being kidnapped or harmed.

During a recent interview with Alex Jones on The Alex Jones Show, Skenazy reflects on how the days when society’s youth could simply ride their bicycles to school or into the woods, climb their neighbors’ trees, or play at the local park by themselves without adult supervision are essentially gone. Today, it is practically considered abnormal in many areas for young children to even be outside at all, let alone to be exploring on their own or with their friends.

“What’s happening … is parents who let their children play outside, walk to school, or go to the grocery (store) for them often have neighbors who turn them in, supposedly out of concern … and what happens is Child Protective Services (CPS) is obligated to come and check out whether or not these parents are being negligent, or worse abusive,” says Skenazy, who receives calls all the time from parents that are being persecuted by law enforcement for allowing their kids to play outside.

“What has happened is that the parents are found wrong by the police or CPS for leaving their children in what CPS calls ‘a dangerous situation,’ which I would call a ‘normal, nice situation.’ In fact, less dangerous than just letting your kids sit inside all day getting fat and diabetic, you let your kids run outside or have some independent adventures, that’s considered bad parenting now.”

Texas woman forced to spend night in jail for supervising kids’ outdoor playtime

Just a few days ago, for instance, Tammy Cooper of La Porte, Texas, was actually handcuffed and arrested for allowing her children to play outside on their motorized scooters in the family’s cul-de-sac. Cooper was forced to spend the night in jail for this non-crime, despite the fact that she had been outside with her two children watching them the entire time. (

“It is so unusual for parents to let their children play outside, or climb a tree, that they are being turned in as negligent,” adds Skenazy. “The immediate assumption is that something’s wrong, they escaped, maybe they’ve been kidnapped by somebody, or could be kidnapped, that’s the big fear.”

On her blog, Skenazy documents all sorts of wild cases involving the disturbing societal trend of people calling the police and CPS on neighbors that allow their children to play outside, as if letting kids be kids was some sort of crime (

Deadly superbug germ kills 7th person at NIH in Maryland

September 16, 2012 – BETHESDA, Md. — A deadly germ untreatable by most antibiotics has killed a seventh person at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Maryland. The Washington Post reported the death Friday. NIH officials told the paper that the boy from Minnesota died Sept. 7. NIH says the boy arrived at the research hospital in Bethesda in April and was being treated for complications from a bone marrow transplant when he contracted the bug. He was the 19th patient at the hospital to contract an antibiotic-resistant strain of KPC, or Klebsiella pneumoniae. The outbreak stemmed from a single patient carrying the superbug who arrived at the hospital last summer. The paper reported the Minnesota boy’s case marked the first new infection of this superbug at NIH since January. –YN

    Let’s talk coffee….

GOOD NEWS! (At last!) Coffee is actually GOOD for you! (As though we were going to give it up?!)

Mounting Evidence Suggests Coffee May Actually Have Therapeutic Health Benefits
September 16 2012 (this from a recognized ‘health guru’)

Coffee contains theobromine, also found in chocolate (poisonous to dogs), and theophylline.

Did you know that a fresh cup of brew can help stop an asthma attack? Yep. I use it all the time. Oh, yes, I have the daily “drug” (keep trying to give it up and not successful), and I have a “rescue inhaler”, which I prefer not to use – it’s a quickly inhaled drug; but when I start to feel the airway constriction, I quickly brew fresh coffee; it needs to be consumed as freshly as possible, as the chemicals alter themselves fairly quickly upon standing; drink it black – you need the benefits of what naturally occurs in coffee, and additives may inhibit those benefits. But doing this CAN (and for me, DOES) reduce the inflammation and return things to normal, rather quickly. Disclaimer: This is not a substitute for a medical treatment. That said, this approach has kept me out of the ER on more than one occasion, especially while travelling (stop at the nearest food joint and ask for a cup of the freshest coffee they can provide; sometimes, they’ll make it for you, when they know the “why”. It works for me, at at any rate.

Did you know that coffee actually comes from a “cherry” inside a seed of a tree or a bush. That cherry has seed inside of it or “bean” which is then cleaned, dried, roasted (cooked), ground and then brewed.

According to one website, coffee was discovered by a goat -well, his goat herder, but the goat purportedly pointed it out.

    Here’s that post:

Yup you heard right coffee was first discovered by a goat! More specifically a young goat herder by the name of Kaldi in the 9th-century. He noticed his goats acting strange when they ate the cherries from the coffee tree so he tried it for himself. This story does not show up in writings until the 16th-century but I like the story and it sounds very plausible

Did you know coffee was once “illegal” in some places? More fun facts:

The longer coffee beans are roasted, the less caffeine it contains. That’s why Dark, French, and Slow (three names for the same thing) actually contain less caffeine than regular roast. You can also get a more full-bodied cup of coffee from these three; but if you don’t like full-bodied coffee, just back off a bit on the grounds when you brew and stretch your food budget!

Think about how much you enjoy your coffee – how far it travels to reach you; most areas in our part of the world can not sustain the growth of coffee, so you MUST “import” it.

IF you are a coffee lover, I hope it’s high on your prep list, and, if not…add it to your barter list, because nearly everyone else does love it!

We have tried many different coffees over the years, from some of the most well-known in the U.S. (most of those are not that good – they just had better marketing teams!); to the high-end products. Our personal favorite? Believe it or not – the “Dark Roast” from Wal-Mart, “Sam’s Choice”. Brown and white label. Dark roast – reduced caffeine – more flavor (the longer a bean roasts the more flavor and the less caffeine).

We’ve also done the buy the beans and grind it daily. We’re obviously not sufficiently coffee connoisseurs, as we did not deem this worth the effort every morning.

So, what is YOUR favorite coffee? Are you a little more energetic in the mornings, and grind your own? Or, are you like us? Take the “easy way out”?! ; )

A good vitamin supplement is essential to optimum health, as few of us eat the right combination every day, and will be even more so when SHTF. Dr. Connealy has what appears to be a respectable article on how to choose a good vitamin supplement, and a short list of the “essentials”.

Please note: on that short list of essentials, they have failed to mention that the Vitamin D needs to be D3. You can do some online reading if you want to know why.

Your body also manufactures its own Vitamin D, which is why it is essential to be in the sun at least 15 minutes a day. You can wear a long-sleeve shirt and pants, and wide-brim floppy hat, if you have to stay out of the sun for skin health reasons, and STILL produce naturally the vitamin D your body needs. But, since many people today are NOT in the sun 15 minutes each day, Vitamin D3 can fill that void.

This is not only a prep item for you and all your pack but it’s also a good barter item for the future. Just remember: men, women, children and teenagers – male and female – need different combinations, so, try to have the right vitamin/mineral supplement stored for each.

I don’t know that I agree with him that a reverse osmosis filter (a method originally used in desalination process) is the ONLY way to stop this, but it is clearly a very effective method. The point is not to employ scare tactics, but to raise the question, “what are you drinking, and how does that fit into how you’re feeling?”.

If you want to see how reverse osmosis filtering works, try here:

From: “Daily Dose”, William Campbell Douglas, II, M.D.
    [email protected]

    Death in a cup

And you still think your tap water is safe?

If the poisons, drugs and chemical contaminants that routinely turn up in US drinking water aren’t enough to scare you, consider this: Your water could contain brain-eating microorganisms.

Sounds like something out of a horror movie, and I’m sure some Hollywood hotshot is cranking out a script right now. But that’s the frightening reality in American homes today after two people in Louisiana were killed by brain-eating amoeba that came right out of their own faucets.

Both victims were using neti pots for nasal irrigation. That’s when you send water up one nostril and out the other to help clear out snot and other junk.

But in this case, what went in was a lot worse than what was already there. Specifically, the Naegleria fowleri amoeba that had been quietly lurking in the water and waiting for just the right chance to eat some brains.

Like I said, this is horror-movie stuff. But at least it’s pretty rare.

The REAL scares come when you see what’s turning up in water routinely from coast to coast — including poisons they readily admit they’re putting in it, like fluoride and chlorine, supposedly to protect you.

But that’s only the beginning. Drugs known to make people sterile and stupid are showing up in water samples, and I’m not entirely convinced it’s an accident.

And still other junk is flowing from your tap because water treatment plants simply can’t keep them out. Drugs both legal and illegal including cocaine, dangerous chemicals such as rocket fuel, and more have all been found in the water that millions of Americans drink every single day — including water in major metropolitan areas.

There are two ways to protect yourself and your family. The extreme way is to simply stop drinking water.

I don’t drink the stuff myself, so I’m living proof it can be done.

If you can’t go that far, then you MUST install a reverse osmosis filter — the only system that keeps out everything but the H, the 2, and the O. Install it where the water enters your home to make sure that every single tap is protected.

    FEMA Concentration Camp in Hawaii?

I received an email awhile back from an acquaintance who works for the State of Hawaii on Oahu.
The email included the above Google Earth photo that shows a satellite view of the old Naval Air Station Barbers Point on the South West end of the island of Oahu.
The email stated that the photo shows a FEMA concentration camp and that I should watch the documentary “Camp FEMA” and I would see.
I originally blew it off as not worth my time looking into but then later I saw something that mentioned Senator Dan Akaka (D) from Hawaii as being on the Senate committee overseeing FEMA.
That reminded me of the email I had received earlier and if Senator Akaka was on the FEMA oversight committee it would be natural for him to get his own FEMA camp.
A few days later I had the opportunity to watch the documentary “Camp FEMA” and lo and behold the movie does show a FEMA camp almost exactly like the one in the photo at Barbers Point. The description in the documentary was uncanny to say the least.
Well, by now I was intrigued and so I decided to drive out to Barbers Point and have a look for myself. Yes, it is there and there are signs leading to it saying it is a car storage facility.

It is located at the farthest southwest part of the air field and is fenced off with a guard at the entrance.
Ok, why should anyone be concerned? This week at the Honolulu City and County Council they are going to vote on a resolution 12-74 CD-1 submitted by Councilman Tom Berg.
This proposed amendment was originally billed as moving the homeless into affordable shelter but now is billed as providing temporary housing for farm workers.
What the amendment is asking for is relaxing the building codes to allow people to live in extremely small off the grid housing that is not up to code.
This relaxation of the housing codes would in effect legalize the FEMA Concentration Camp.
As Martin Luther King said, “Everything Hitler did was legal”.
Mahalo for your Aloha Senator Akaka!
