I’ll be taking a break from posting until after Christmas, I need to get rested, and spend time with family. You may be taking a little time off yourself – that’s a good thing – we all need time to reflect on the past year and plan for the next.
Before I go, I’d like to make a couple announcements that may affect you:
First of all in a blatant attempt to get more people to subscribe to my RRS feed. The RSS feed is now a full feed. That means you can read directly from RSS [What is RSS ] without having to come here. The RSS feed has no advertising. You can also get updates by email.
Second, my page of recommended books has been updated and expanded for your convenience. Check it out and tell me what you think…
Third, if you live in California and want a Berkey filter you need to get it now, before the California Ban on Berkey’s takes affect on January 1st.

Merry Christmas to all from a couple of newcomers…can anyone tell me why the Berkey is being banned? It is also a "will not sell to Iowa" product but no one can tell me why.
