What Is The Real Unemployment Rate? : “According to the Obama administration, the unemployment rate in the United States has been slowly coming down over the past couple of years. But is that actually true? When you take a closer look at the data you quickly realize that the real unemployment numbers are much worse than we are being told.”

Smith and Wesson’s Revenue Surges On Overwhelming Demand Of Guns : “As consumer retail giants like Best Buy, which saw a 90% decline in net income in the second quarter of 2012, struggle for survival amid the worst economic crisis to hit the globe since the Great Depression of the 1930′s, there’s one industry that’s not only maintained its growth, but is showing record profits month after month.”

Instant Response: Carry off-duty : “Several years ago a comprehensive study of active shooter incidents found that most were over too quickly for a Rapid Deployment Contact team to assemble and make entry into the kill zone. In almost every incident where an active killer was stopped before they fully ran their plan, someone on-scene took immediate action. Generally, these “Instant Responders” were security guards or ordinary citizens . Even when police officers did stop the shooter, they were either on-scene when the shooting started or the first to arrive at the call.” Thanks to Scott G for the link.

But a judge ruled Wednesday that the coins belong to Uncle Sam.” Thanks to Gwen C for the link.

  1. “Ban corporate profits”. Someone needs to take a basic economics course.

  2. I have said for years that the Police are on the scene of a violent incident 2% of the time, the victim is there 100% of the time. I carry a gun for the same reason I carry car insurance; I’m not looking for an incident, I’ll just be ready if/when there is one.

    • In 15 years of law enforcement I can count the number of times I happened upon a serious crime in progress on one hand. I can count the number of times I arrived on a scene in time to stop a serious crime in progress on both hands.

I’ve always said that citizens are the single most valuable part of law enforcement, but the police academy teaches officers to never trust the ordinary citizen. In many ways I understand this, but all too often, it is the actions of the ordinary citizen who pulls some cop’s cookies out of the fire. This is especially true for small towns and rural sheriff’s departments.

Wow, the complete and total failure of our education system was on display at the DNC on the corporate profit segment. But the thing that scared me the most was the lady who said she would support Obama on anything he wanted to do. He asked her again, and she said anything. The cult surrounding this man reminds me of nothing more than the cult that surrounded Jim Jones. And we all know how that turned out.

As for the gold coins, one would have to be stupid to give them to the government and somehow expect to get them back. Make a necklace of something out of them, and wear them across the border into Canada or Mexico for goodness sake. It’s way past time that intelligent people trust this government we have now to do the right or honorable thing. Nothing but a bunch of crooks and their cronies.

Rotten smell wreaks havoc across Southern California

September 11, 2012 – CALIFORNIA – When the rotten egg smell wafted into the Santa Clarita United Methodist Church in Saugus on Monday morning, Kathy Gray thought the church’s sewer pipe had burst. More than 70 miles to the east, steelworker Chris Tatum’s nostrils got the punch in Riverside. He assumed a brush fire had just broken out. “It smells like rotten mush.” Southern California awoke Monday morning to a foul odor that wouldn’t go away. Residents clogged 911 lines with calls, prompting health officials from Ventura County to Palm Springs to send investigators looking for everything from a toxic spill to a sewer plant leak. The prime suspect, however, lay more than 100 miles away from Los Angeles. The leading theory is that the stink was caused by the annual die-off of fish in the Salton Sea. Officials believe Sunday evening’s thunderstorms and strong winds churned up the water and pushed that dead-fish smell to points west overnight. Officials from the Air Quality Management District and other agencies said they have never dealt with a stench quite like this. Although the fish die-off usually causes foul odors in parts of the Inland Empire, officials cannot recall it traveling this far. “It’s very unusual that any odor would be this widespread, from the Coachella to Los Angeles County,” said Sam Atwood, spokesman for the South Coast Air Quality Management District. “We’re talking well over 100 miles. I can’t recall ever confirming an odor traveling that distance.” The Salton Sea did track 40-mph winds Sunday night, and officials said that probably served as a trigger. “The winds could have stirred up the water,” said Bill Meister, president of the Sea and Desert Interpretive Assn. “Because the lake is so shallow, and there is 100 years worth of decayed material at the bottom, you’d get that rotten egg smell.” At its deepest points, the Salton Sea is only about 50 feet, said Andrew Schlange, general manager of the Salton Sea Authority. The 360-square-mile body of murky, highly saline water is also receding into the desert. More water is evaporating from the sea than is flowing in from agricultural runoff. In some places the falling waterline has uncovered thermal fields studded with features like geysers and boiling mud pots spewing clouds of steam and sulfur dioxide gas that smells like rotten eggs. The “accidental sea” was created in 1905 when the Colorado River jumped its banks during a rainy season and gushed north for months, filling an ancient salt sink. It’s 35 miles long, 15 miles wide and 227 feet below sea level. Schlange said it’s a common occurrence for fish populations to explode and then suffer die-offs when oxygen is depleted from the sea. “The problem is [the odor] would have to have migrated 50 to 100 miles, without it being dissipated by mixing with other air. It doesn’t seem possible,” he said. “I’ve been in Southern California my whole life, and I’m not aware of any time in the past where the odor from the Salton Sea has migrated as far as people are telling us.” -LA Times

    • School House says:

I live in the high desert of so cal. We smelled this at the 3500 ft elevation also. I really don’t believe it’s coming from Salton Sea. Our wind direction was from the west as usual not from the east, and to travel that high in elevation??? I don’t think so… I have hunted the Salton Sea for many years and yes at times it can get pretty rank, but only locally. The gov needs to aim their darts at something else for an excuse…

  6. Homeinsteader says:

I posted last month that China is buying up all land in decaying Toledo, Ohio. Why? Because it is at the mouth of the Great Lakes, and China fully intended to ship fresh water from the Lakes back to China, drawing down our own fresh water supply. Why? Because China doesn’t have enough potable water for it’s population, and has not had in two decades or more. China limits its people to one gallon of water per day person, per day. That’s one gallon for EVERYTHING. Pakistan and India have similar problems.

Some have said the final war will begin over water rights, not oil. Kind of makes you wonder, doesn’t it?!!

    • Homeinsteader says:

1 gallon per person, per day – you knew what I meant

      • Lets see the Great Lakes have 5,900,000,000,000,000 quadrillions gallons of water and a supertanker will hold 172 million gallons of liquid, so that would take 34,302,000,000 billion loads to drain the lakes. It would take 4593 loads to drop it by just one inch. Now I am no mathematician and just made some quick calculations but if my figures are right let them go for it, or better yet lets start selling it to them. If was feasable to do it would probably already have been done. I think the volume in the great lakes is such an astounding number we can not even imagine how much is there, much like the national debt is such a large number , the only good thing is that the Great Lakes are being replenished and our National bank account is not. Maybe TDL has got the two mixed up and thinks he has dollars and not gallons of water!!!

        • Homeinsteader says:

Well, that sure sounds good, george, but the reality is there is NOT an infinite supply in the Great Lakes, the Mississippi River, or the planet, for that matter. The fact that China, India, and Pakistan must NOW import water (they’ve actually been buying water for years) should be proof enough. Or the aquifers that have gone completely dry in the American West. China once BOUGHT water for its people; now they take it from the Great Lakes. It will not necessarily always be replenished at the same rate at which it is drawn down and shipped out. It has been suggested that the U.S. MAY be allowing China to ship out the water to prevent them from calling our loans. I have no idea whether that is true, but it certainly NOT surprise me.

        • Hunker-Down says:

          george,

I prefer that the USA give the water to our western states than allow Nestle to profit from it.
I’m glad we don’t live where it is illegal to capture rainwater from our roof.

“Real Unemployment Rate”. I am ashamed that out government lies to us like that. I am ashamed that our school system cant produce a graduate that can count past the fingers on their hands.

“Ban corporate profits”. Those people are tdl’s “useful idiots” educated by our esteemed liberal education system. The system that produced them needs to be dismantled.

“War on fresh water supply”. That water is consumed by several million tax paying (and a bunch of food stamp free loaders) individuals. I used to live in Des Plaines Illinois, a Chicago suburb and remember when the roads were dug up to lay huge pipe that today carries fresh water from Lake Michigan to the western suburbs. We paid for the pipe by special real estate assessments, and paid for the water every month in our utility bill.

If I form a corporation can I STEAL the water and sell it like Nestle is doing?

  8. Gold coins belonging to Uncle Sam! Just goes to show you, do not trust the government to verify legitimacy of a coin… go to a private collector instead.
Wait I elaborated way beyond what I should have… I should have stopped at “do not trust the government.” ;O)

  9. Those folks with the gold should have kept their mouth shut and put them up for private auction . There are several of them that cater to wealthy individuals that buy artifacts of questionable legality . Keep quiet and get rich at the same time . Trust those yankees in the government ? they should have known better .

New Atomic Element Governmentium (Gv) Discovered

Researchers at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory have discovered the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium (Gv), has one neuron, 25 assistant neurons, 88 deputy neurons, and 198 assistant deputy neurons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.
These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.

Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second to complete to take from four days to four years.
Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2–6 years; it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neurons and deputy neurons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium’s mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neurons, forming isodopes.

This characteristic of moronic promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.

When catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

An outside force called Bureauacritizatium guides and directs all the peons and morons no matter how much their power levels drop. Even when Governmentium and Administratium no longer function, Bureauacritizatium is always read with an additional infusion of control. Contrary to all the laws of physics, while Bureauacritizatium can be created; it can never be destroyed.

Voters, Clueless about Fiscal Cliff, In for a Shock

The nation may be barreling towards a fiscal cliff that has policymakers in Washington gnashing their teeth and wringing their hands, but lawmakers just returning from a five-week congressional recess say the crisis hasn’t quite penetrated the consciousness of many of their constituents.

For sure, there’s a lot of fretting about the $16 trillion in federal debt, the prospects of rising taxes by the end of the year, and the persistent pain and fear about high unemployment.

But even in this highly charged political season, the threat of a year-end perfect storm of expiring tax cuts and massive defense and domestic budget cuts that could push the economy back into a recession largely remains a preoccupation of congressional and administration officials, budget wonks and the news media, according to lawmakers.

    THE COMING FISCAL STORM

“I think your average person is just starting to learn about the implications of the fiscal cliff,” said Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., who held three town hall meetings during the break that focused on fiscal issues. “There is a real concern in general about [inaction] in Washington. There’s a feeling there is no resolution of our fiscal issues and there doesn’t seem to be people working together in terms of addressing the economy.”

Note: “The Coming Financial Collapse” would be a more appropriate title. –

China And Russia Are Ruthlessly Cutting The Legs Out From Under The U.S. Dollar

The mainstream media in the United States is almost totally ignoring one of the most important trends in global economics. This trend is going to cause the value of the U.S. dollar to fall dramatically and it is going to cause the cost of living in the United States to go way up. Right now, the U.S. dollar is the primary reserve currency of the world. Even though that status has been chipped away at in recent years, U.S. dollars still make up more than 60 percent of all foreign currency reserves in the world. Most international trade (including the buying and selling of oil) is conducted in U.S. dollars, and this gives the United States a tremendous economic advantage. Since so much trade is done in dollars, there is a constant demand for more dollars all over the globe from countries that need them for trading purposes. So the Federal Reserve is able to flood our financial system with dollars without it causing a tremendous amount of inflation because the rest of the world ends up soaking up a lot of those dollars. But now that is changing. China and Russia have been spearheading a movement to shift away from using the U.S. dollar in international trade. At the moment, the shift is happening gradually, but at some point a tipping point will come (for example if Saudi Arabia were to declare that it will no longer take U.S. dollars for oil) and the entire global financial system is going to change. When that tipping point comes the global demand for U.S. dollars is going to absolutely plummet and nightmarish inflation will come to the United States. If such a scenario sounds far out to you, then you have not been paying attention. In fact, China and Russia have been working very hard to move us toward exactly such a scenario.

China and Russia are not the “buddies” of the United States. The truth is that they are both ruthless competitors of the United States and leaders from both nations have been calling for a new global currency for years.

Germany’s highest financial court is scheduled to render a key decision today, and the decision could impact us all — globally — no matter where you live.

If the court votes NO, it may set off a rapid debt meltdown across several European nations: Italy, Greece and Spain to name just three.

If the court votes YES, it will prevent the immediate meltdown but result in runaway currency devaluation / price inflation as Germany cranks up the (virtual) printing presses to bail out European nations from their failing debts.

Why does this matter to you? Because either way, the crisis is going to eventually hit U.S. banking giants hard. We should all expect eventual “bank holidays” during which we won’t be able to access our deposits, ATMs, checking accounts, and so on.

After 45 years of hard work and grassroots struggle, the organic community has built up a $30-billion organic food and farming industry and community. This consumer and small farmer-driven movement, under steady attack by biotech and Big Food lobbyists, with little or no help from the federal government, has managed to create a healthy and sustainable alternative to America’s disastrous, chemical and energy-intensive system of industrial agriculture. Consumer demand is behind strong organic sales. Conscious of the health hazards of genetic engineering and chemical agriculture, and the mortal threat of global warming and climate change, millions of Americans are demanding food and other products that are certified organic.

In case you have not yet heard about this movie, coming out in two days:

(a message from the American Family Association/AFA)

It’s no secret that Hollywood and big media companies no longer respect our traditional values. Nowhere is this more apparent than at the movies: Hollywood produces an endless flood of films that disparage our beliefs and erode American values. But this weekend, we are turning the tide.

This Friday, September 14, we encourage you to experience Last Ounce of Courage, an independent film for families to enjoy together, that celebrates and upholds our traditional values of family and faith. The movie received the highest possible “Five Dove” rating from family media watchdog Dove Foundation, and prescreening audiences call it an inspiring reminder that our ideals and beliefs are worth fighting for.

By going to see this movie, and encouraging your congregants to do the same, we can all send a message to our government and our media: that we the people still stand for family, faith, and traditional values. Help us get the word out about this film and together we will make Last Ounce of Courage a box office success.
