  2. Thanks, MD, for the Daily Miscellany. I can’t say that I “enjoy” it, but I appreciate it. Yes, I think it’s going to be bad after the election(if it waits that long) for several reasons. Jim Rogers’ assessment is one. I also think it’s looking more and more like the current president will be re elected. And that definitely does not bode well. I am praying and praying and praying. And prepping, of course.

  3. But on a lighter note, while the world seems to be going to hell in a handbasket, many of us on in the Pack are getting some much needed fun diversion by fantasizing about the “MD Creekmore Chicken Races”! It seems there is no limit to what we can concoct about it! Thanks for allowing us the levity at the expense of your chickens!!!

  4. I have been talking with a couple of like minded friends about then next 4 years. I feel that if Romney gets elected, things globally and country wide will be so messed up that he will only get one term to fix it.

First he will have to stop the runaway spending, then cut back to where we are reducing our national debt, all while trying to set up an environment where business can grow, thereby increasing the number of opportunities (I prefer self employment to jobs, but that’s another topic).

And to get reelected he’s going to have to do it in a way the the cut backs don’t alienate voters. Tough deal.

And all that assumes that China and Europe don’t have their own implosions.

    • JP At this stage of the game, it feels like figuring out what color to paint the elevators in a burning building. There is no way out! Internationally the big potential enemies and the enemies think we are too weak to prevent them from doing what they want. ‘thus all those out there thumbing their noses at us and regurgitating old hatreds and quarrels. Here at home, financially we need to just put a fork in it and call it done and start over!

        • Ha Homeinsteader……..I guess I have lived in fear of all this for quite a while and now that it is here……I am just accepting it. I might have been funny, tee hee, and now that I read it, I get that. But no, I would never intentionally be funny about the dire straits we all face. I am reading a book called the AfterShock Investor. by David and Robert Wiedemer and Cindy Spitzer. I read their Aftershock Series as well. I concur with them, we are not going to get through this well. They “think” we can possibly fumble along for another year or so before it gets “really” ugly. This book came out just recently and they thought that this round of “easing” that Bernanke did last week would not happen until late in the year or early next. So, it would appear that things are potentially more dire than even they thought. In the meantime, I wish my knee would improve so I could do more prepping!

Given his past behavior when facing re-election, one wonders what the Obama Regime will do when not facing the voter. He has now given the ATF the power to seize firearms based on rumor, suspended due process, and given himself the power to take over the entire economy, including all food and private property. Just by declaring an emergency. Yet he is still leading in most of the polls. The people in this nation are truly sheeple being led to a slaughter. It’s disgusting, scary, pathetic, stupid….you fill in the superlative.

      COLD OPEN

We spent the first half of this week watching the intra-campaign sniping in Boston as various (anonymous) Romney staffers leaked to Politico to complain about strategy chief Stuart Stevens. In one sense, there wasn’t much to see here: Very few campaigns are models of bureaucratic efficiency—a national campaign is too big and freewheeling to be run with UPS-style precision. What really separates our perceptions of the campaign’s skill are the numbers. If Romney was ahead by 6 points right now, you could write the same story about the idiosyncratic genius of the campaign. And the candidate, I would argue, drives the numbers. The campaign is the candidate; the candidate is the campaign. Everything else is secondary.

So why is Obama still ahead? He’s not ahead by much—his convention bounce seems to have mostly dissipated and, as Jay Cost notes, when you look at the likely-voter models the two are very close indeed. But here’s the thing: When we talked about this election a year ago, Obama’s theory of victory was that some late green shoots of recovery would be enough to convince voters that he had turned the economy around.

      Instead, the opposite has happened.

When you look at the news from the last eight weeks or so, it isn’t just that the economy hasn’t turned around—things are getting worse. Unemployment, inflation pressures, gas prices, manufacturing, retail sales—every economic indicator is heading in the wrong direction. An American ambassador was killed, the Middle East is in flames and Obama’s response has been nothing short of embarrassing.

Voters don’t need to wait until January 2013 to see what a second Obama term would look like. They’re seeing it right now.

What should worry Republicans is that Obama isn’t clinging to a narrow lead with America making a slow, arduous turnaround. He’s leading even as the country goes from bad to worse.

      • I think they both still have the opportunity to loose this thing. Neither one of them can stay on a message that keeps them from saying the dumbest things! And neither of them can admit to having any “real” program to fix all this mess!

    • SurvivorDan says:

Leading in the polls….. It is incredible. Not unbelievable, what with the overwhelming support of the main stream media. Look at the distraction of the ‘secret’ Romney tapes. The media is the voluptuous assistant of the magician (Obama)….Pay no attention to the magician…look at me!
Am I getting too cynical? Are the sheeple not worth saving?

      • SD: If you look at history of polls just prior to the election (6 months or so) the Dem’s need to be 12+ points up before they will have a true leed. If he (Obama) is only up by 3-5 points he’s really behind by 4-7.

      • I just can’t figure out what is in it for the media to continue this sham of a campaign bias????? Do they think somehow that they are going to have any better luck with the economy from what has been shown over the last 4 years. Really? They can’t even get a budget done! We are going to end up in WWIII before the election at the rate they are trying to ignore the mess over in the middle east……….and then Obama goes on Letterman last night and can’t even tell Letterman how big the national debt is? Well, I guess that would be one way to just start over……….. just do nothing……hmmm wonder if that would have worked with my kids, or would that work at work for me………..must go consider now…

  6. okay, i saw a breakdown of the democratic platform snafu where they left out “God” and dissed Israel. its worse than we were told of course. The word “God” was omitted from the statement that our rights are “God given”. think about this for a moment….okay i’ll help you out. they don’t believe that our rights are God-given, but Obama given, to be applied as he sees fit. this muslim movie thing is a prime example. see they hauled the guy in for “questioning”, for exercising his GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH. so anybody can burn the flag etc for “free speech”, but making fun of muslims is to be punished by prison (or some are calling for the film makers death!)…..now, Marines with no ammo, NOT! the marines were sequestered to ships off the coast in one case, replaced by plain clothed “security personnel” in the other. you see miss hillary abhores the military, can’t stand us, is intimidated by us (her own words). during her husbands reign she insisted that the JOINT CHEIFS don civilian attire when attending whitehouse functions and meetings, and was furious when told they would not. she didn’t want the marines in veiw at “her” state department, a kinder gentler state dept. yeah, that worked out well now didn’t it. and the media plays on…..and if you believe the muslims are mad about the movie, well quit prepping, theres no hope for you. ITS AN EXCUSE TO KILL US, PEOPLE! and TDL is going to release the blind cleric that admitted to planning the WTC attack of 1993 and others, for “humanitarian reasons”. i garrantee that will come back to us in some horrible way. and the media plays on…..point is that not only are they holding back, but outright telling us LIES!, and feel no duty to tell the truth. they have NO morals. the ends justify the means. they will do ANYTHING to stay in power. be prepared for it.

And has anyone not noticed the McCain-like pacifist behavior of the Romney campaign? Obama will win. Traitor! You say? Not at all. I believe the fix is in. It will take a miracle.
Even if Romney is elected, how can he stop the juggernaut that is the economy? Too late. Too long kicking the can down the road by all of our Feds. I used to hate the Reds (Chicoms, VietCong, et al) now it’s the……

  7. Jim Rogers is saying what I’ve been trying to preach at home, to no avail. It doesn’t matter which candidate wins US election. If Romney wins, the militant left wingnuts will flip out plus my guess is things will totally crash before Jan 20. (Crossing fingers on that.) If Obama wins, the economy will simply give up. The golden goose is just about dead, at that’s that.

  8. As for the fluoride video, every claim made on toxicity is out of context and thus meaningless. What’s missing is context. Precisely, the principle that the poison is in the dose is absent. All of us have some toxic elements in our bodies. Nature is full of them. Our bodies have been evolving to handle small amounts of them like mercury, lead, dioxin, arsenic and asbestos and others. Such claims can be made of water. We all need it to survive but too much will kill us and so will too little. So what? Without putting the info in some context this video makes meaningless statements.

    • Homeinsteader says:

so let’s knowingly and willingly put MORE toxins in our body…

      Oh, good grief!

Do your homework, find out how “fluoride” came to be, and what it really is.

The “context” is to tell the truth, MM – most people still think fluoride has some value for strengthening teeth. It never has, and it never will. It has ALWAYS been about $$$.

      • No, don’t swallow the toothpaste, spit it out. That will keep you alive for decades. The evidence is out there – we have had Fluoride in public water systems and toothpaste for over 70 years and more people have died of mosquito bites in Texas then people who have died of Fluoride poisoning in the world.

It cannot be about the money – it costs more to put Fluoride (another ingredient) in toothpaste than what you can charge for it. The difference in price of any toothpaste with and without Fluoride is nothing – it is still 2 bucks for a tube of toothpaste. It does something otherwise it would not be in every brand on the market. No, it does not strengthen teeth directly – it allows Calcium to “bind” to teeth (making them stronger), kills the bacteria on your teeth including the places you can’t reach with a brush and keeps the tube of toothpaste from rotting on the shelf.

I don’t care if you have bad teeth but I will spare myself the indignity of rotten teeth.

        • Homeinsteader says:

Do you think what you put in your mouth does not get absorbed into your tissue? And then your blood stream? If that were true, we’d still be telling everyone, “suck the venom out” when someone is bitten by a poisonous snake.

The $$$ isn’t about what you and I pay for it; when a municipality buys fluoride and adds it to your water, YOU are paying for that – in your monthly water bill. It’s not a “freebie”.

Fluoride is and always has been and always will be about making certain wealthy individuals/families even more wealthy. There’s ample proof out there. It never had anything whatsoever to do with teeth; there were two families, Carnegie and Rothschild, I believe was the second one…who each held a great deal of interest in the aluminum production industry making airplanes, etc. for the war effort during WWII. When the war wound down, so did demand for aluminum, and they had all this “aluminum byproduct” from the production they needed to do something with; they weren’t finding many states willing to just let them bury it, but, they did some of that, too. So the company owned by these two ordered their scientists to find a way to bolster demand for this “byproduct”; the scientists, of course, ran “scientific” experiments proving the efficacy of this byproduct on teeth. It made teeth STRONG! It made them last longer. It made our kids healthier, and what good parent didn’t want to do something that made their kid healthier?

It has always been a lie, it’s still a lie. You can find all the information you want on it. You’ll also find “scientific proof” that fluoride IS effective for teeth. Now do your homework. Trace those “scientific studies” to the origin, and see who paid for them.

If it makes you happy to use fluoride, if you really believe it’s helping you, then, that is a choice you are free to make, of course.

Personally, I just want to make sure people have ALL the information so that they can choose wisely.

Fluoride: like artificial sweeteners, MSG, etc., one of the reasons we ARE the Alzheimers and Cancer generations.

Cost of Regulations Under Obama: $488 Billion

The American Action Forum has released new analysis of the burden of new regulations under President Obama. It’s most striking finding? The cost of added regulations under President Obama is now estimated to be $488 billion.

“Based on data from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and regulations published in the Federal Register, the Administration has published more than $488 billion in regulatory costs since January 20, 2009 – $70 billion in 2012 alone,” reads the analysis from AAF.

“Ignoring all non-“major” rules with costs in 2009, the regulatory tally still surpassed $61 billion. In 2010, counting only “major” rules, the regulatory bill rose to $160 billion in lifetime costs. AAF began tracking every proposed and final rule in 2011. That year alone the Administration published more than $231 billion in regulatory costs. AAF reviewed 6,705 regulations in 2011 and has tracked more than 4,700 regulations to date in 2012.”

The most costly government agencies in 2012 alone are Health and Human Services (which has an estimated regulation burden of $16.7 billion), the Environmental Protection Agency ($12.1 billion), the Department of Energy ($10.6 billion), the Department of Justice ($6.9 billion), and the Securities and Exchange Commission ($6.2 billion).

The other cost associated with these regulations is the man-hours that it would take to implement and enforce these new regulations. Under President Obama, this cost is at least 1.58 billion hours.

WARNING: DISTURBING PICTURES of rats with GMO tumors.

Here’s the partial text of this article, which EVERYBODY needs to read and pass along. SHARE this email, forward to everyone you know:

(NaturalNews) Eating genetically modified corn (GM corn) and consuming trace levels of Monsanto’s Roundup chemical fertilizer caused rats to develop horrifying tumors, widespread organ damage, and premature death. That’s the conclusion of a shocking new study that looked at the long-term effects of consuming Monsanto’s genetically modified corn.

The study has been deemed “the most thorough research ever published into the health effects of GM food crops and the herbicide Roundup on rats.” News of the horrifying findings is spreading like wildfire across the internet, with even the mainstream media seemingly in shock over the photos of rats with multiple grotesque tumors… tumors so large the rats even had difficulty breathing in some cases. GMOs may be the new thalidomide.

From the Daily Mail: “The animals on the GM diet suffered mammary tumors, as well as severe liver and kidney damage. The researchers said 50 percent of males and 70 percent of females died prematurely, compared with only 30 percent and 20 percent in the control group.”

Here are some of the shocking findings from the study:

    • Up to 50% of males and 70% of females suffered premature death.

    • Rats that drank trace amounts of Roundup (at levels legally allowed in the water supply) had a 200% to 300% increase in large tumors.

    • Rats fed GM corn and traces of Roundup suffered severe organic damage including liver damage and kidney damage.

    • The study fed these rats NK603, the Monsanto variety of GM corn that’s grown across North America and widely fed to animals and humans. This is the same corn that’s in your corn-based breakfast cereal, corn tortillas and corn snack chips.

“This research shows an extraordinary number of tumors developing earlier and more aggressively – particularly in female animals. I am shocked by the extreme negative health impacts.” – Dr Michael Antoniou, molecular biologist, King’s College London.

“We can expect that the consumption of GM maize and the herbicide Roundup, impacts seriously on human health.” – Dr Antoniou.

“This is the first time that a long-term animal feeding trial has examined the impact of feeding GM corn or the herbicide Roundup, or a combination of both and the results are extremely serious. In the male rats, there was liver and kidney disorders, including tumors and even more worryingly, in the female rats, there were mammary tumors at a level which is extremely concerning; up to 80 percent of the female rats had mammary tumors by the end of the trial.” – Patrick Holden, Director, Sustainable Food Trust.
