Twiddle Dee or Twiddle Dumb

by M.D. Creekmore on November 1, 2008

I have gone numb over the last month listening to the half-truths and falsehoods bring put forth by both presidential candidates. Both have no real plan and neither will have the answers needed to solve the economic problems we face. They simply repeat whatever their handlers tell them to say, with hopes of gaining support and votes needed to become the next ruler to walk the floors of the oval office.

The outcome has already been decided and no matter if it’s the Muslim communist or that other guy sitting in the White House on January 1st we are still heading toward a world of shit in a hurry. Sure they will try propping up the economy by pumping in more worthless dollars but the outcome will be unchanged, we are in for tough economic times on par with those suffered by the Soviets in the 1990’s or worse.

I can see it now; Barack Obama Osama wins by a landslide, the liberal media cheerleaders chant kudoses for their new wonder boy and his economic polices, all the while the system continues to crumble from all sides. Unemployment with massive inflation and a greatly reduced standard of living for all but the wealthiest Americans will be the order of the day, all the while home evasions and property crimes will increase ten fold, leading to calls for new and tougher gun control measures, to make us “safe”.

Still the media will have his back with words of support and one sided “analyzing” of his performance, at least up until the point where the obvious can no longer be denied. Then they will go on the attack and wonder boy will be taken to task by the very people who put him into the presidency in the first place, as they try to distance themselves from any responsibility for the current state of affairs.

Anyhow, this is all wasted effort, it doesn’t matter at all what the politicians or talking heads say nor do we will face the consequences of our actions. It seems most people in the U.S. are looking for a savor, one that will carry them through troubled times, without any effort on their part. But no savor will come. Twiddle Dee or Twiddle Dumb will not save you; you must save yourself though planning and proper preparation.

Stock up on as much wheat, beans and rice as you can get your hands on, you can’t have too much of these basic foods. My plan for stockpiling survival food consists primarily of four basic food items: wheat, sugar, honey, powdered milk and salt. From these four basic ingredients, a wide variety of foods can be prepared. The advantages of this plan is that these four food items are relatively inexpensive, readily available, storage is simple and the wheat, honey and salt will store indefinitely if kept dry and free of pests.

After you get the basic four foods (wheat, honey, powdered milk, and salt) in the needed proportions then it is a simple matter to add other foods as you get the extra money. Pinto beans, mixed beans, rice, split peas and canned meats, fruits and vegetables can be added with little expense and will add variety to your diet. Never make the mistake of storing only one type of survival food, such as wheat. You need variety in your diet, adding only one other food, such as pinto beans or rice will increase the diversity of foods you are able to produce for the table, increasing your chance of survival.
