U.S. National Debt Tops Debt Limit – The latest calculation of the National Debt as posted by the Treasury Department has – at least numerically – exceeded the statutory Debt Limit approved by Congress last February as part of the Recovery Act stimulus bill.
The ceiling was set at $12.104 trillion dollars. The latest posting by Treasury shows the National Debt at nearly $12.135 trillion.
At least we are on top of something. Must be the change we heard so much about during the presidential election…

LETS REMEMBER WHO IS IN OFFICE,THE ONES WHO ARE RAISING THE DEBT LEVEL TO AN ALL TIME HIGH.LETS FIX THE PROBLEM WITH OUR VOTES PEOPLE.WE NEED BETTER,WE DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS GROUP OF DUMMIES IN OFFICE.FROM JAY IN NC
I guess the sky's the limit with Uncle Sugar and his liberal congress. He's not going to stop until we are changed into a third world nation. That's his idea of change, mine is change at the voting booths next election if we can last that long.
WOW, after almost ten years starting two wars, weaking regulatory oversight of the financial markets, raising the debt to the highest level in US history and allowing corporations to run free…..and you guys allow 12 months to correct the problems? Really? He’s just a President who has to deal with an imovable object (Republican lawmakers), not a King. I dount a King could do all of that.
Politics! At least when I get heaven I won’t be hearing polictical ads, because there won’t be any politicians in heaven!
I’m not for one side or the other, I’m not prejudice, I dislike them all equally!
I think of us all as being Americans and for us all to work together as Americans. If you were ever in the military, you might remember “defend the consitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic”. Did you ever attend a change of command ceremony? That’s when the old commander leaves and a new commander comes in. Did you bad mouth the new commander at every chance you got, did you try to defeat anyone attempting to carry out his orders? Did you attend rallies to voice your displeasure? Did you do those things to get a new commander or get the old one back? Probably not, like a good service member, you probably supported the new commander regardless of your personal beliefs and feelings for the better of your unit and your fellow service members. That’s what a good service member would do. Why can’t we all be good Americans and support those leaders appointed? At least try to carry out the orders for the good of our country. Then, when the next election comes, vote in your own best interests, not how you are told or how you think your family or friends wants you to vote, but vote in your own best interests….and then go with the majority as indicated by the election of our leaders. Can we just be good Americans, can’t we conduct ourselves as we expect those who honor us by thier service, suffering and especially by thier scarifice? Together we stand, divided we fall.
Why can’t we be good Americans
