Nope, no homophobe hate. I had a lesbian couple as neighbors for many years. They were great neighbors, oddly enough both were over weight, which I attributed to all the fast food they ate.
My complaint is the verbage used in the story, let’s not give minority status based on sexual orientation (PC brain washing). Plus the money being thrown at it, $1.5 MILLION after all….we do have starving children to feed, turtles that need tunnels, windmills to build and guns to confiscate…..

This is my last post on this theme today, This discussion..IS in order because each of us have to determine what kind of behavior we accept as normal, and want displayed before us and our children.
If an attitude is hard for you to be around, it would be in the entire group’s best interest, to keep those persons on the fringe, of your outreach, because of emotional stress…alone.
…God created Adam and Eve..and placed them in the garden. He instructed them to be fruitful and multiply. He gave man and woman what they needed for life, and it was “very good”.( Gen 1:27-31) I guess God’s way isn’t “good enough ” for some.
Positions on this matter may give some clarity, to positions some take, and it’s essential to know person’s positions on multiple matters, you choose to have in your group. It may affect physical, emotional and spiritual health of the entire group.
( If any person has a value in your group that does not live by your ideals, then it would be wise to make some provision for their privacy to practice those beliefs, whether religious or in other matters of life)
….All need to know beforehand know how EVeryone will be expected to behave in times of close/ dependent living..
I choose to have those who have similar beliefs in our circle of friends. This does tend to eliminate most persons who claim to follow..”an alternate lifestyle”.
I don’t like to have others lack of values shoved down my throat, and try treat others in like manner. This would involve some in my family who are too lazy to hit a lick at a snake.

When SHTF, there are certain relatives that will NOT be welcome in our group, mainly because the choices they have made in the past reflect on the well-being of the entire group. I have a relative-by-marriage who is a pedophile. After years of getting away with this behavior, all the females in the family started talking at a family reunion. Good thing he wasn’t there or he would have been hanging from the nearest tree. Every single female said they had been molested by him! Every one! That is at least 12 cousins, nieces, sisters. Some were very young (one was 4 when he touched her the first time) and some were 18 (me and one other woman). He didn’t care, he was a law unto himself. Because of the laws in this state, he could not be prosecuted at such a late date. Also banned is his wife, who knew he was molesting their daughter and let him. She also kicked this child out of their home when she was 14 and threatened to turn him into the police. 14 and on her own! She shuffled around from relative to relative and is in her 40′s today and still a mess.
The point I am trying to make is we have to choose who we have around us for the sake of everyone. Those whose lifestyles do not mesh with our own are on their own. And if anyone turns out to be living a deviant lifestyle while here during TEOTWAWKI they will either die by group choice or forced to leave. Sounds harsh, but you must address this issue within your group of survivors.

We had an old man in our family that we were finally able to stop..He pinched all the women on the top or bottom,One day I called him out..I told him He was married to____ and if he wanted to pinch someone go pinch her. ____heard part of the exchange and said,” What did you say?” I had no trouble repeating it, her response was “You listen here OLD Man!”..stopped. His last event was in a care center, He was 90 and pinched an old lady, she knocked him down with her cane. He broke his hip. Never recovered from the injury.
So men let that be a lesson, Don’t pinch a little old lady with a cane!…:>)

Sometimes DH and I play “What if”. What if we were to buy 300 or so acres and advertise for 12 or so couples or families to be employed by us in a homesteading environment. What would our list of qualifications and specifications be. We came to the conclusion that we would look for people with the same core values as us. Like every human being alive or dead we have faced temptations, questioned our upbringings, maybe even been a little inquisitive…I never inhaled:-) But…
There are things we believe are right and wrong. We want to socialize with and live around people with similar thinking.
What disturbs me is that our National Institute of Health granted these funds for something that serves so few of our citizens. And that although some things may be legal, doesn’t make them right and too many people seem to think being actively homosexual is okay. Do fat ugly women become deviant or do deviant women become fat and ugly…it is an offense to me and a waste of my money.

The “fat” thing bothers me, I was morbidly obese at one time, I was ridiculed most of my life, because I was always different..what I wore, my weight, wore those cat glasses,…it was always something… and my weight is still something I have to give special heed to, even tho I lost more than 100 lbs.
Metabolism is controlled by many things, not just what is taken in..and the government making more rules to enforce, will not make the entire nation slender to their specifications.
They are just wasting money on so many things, but consider it as “we have to do something” .. well let that thief, run in on someone with protection, but mandate the homeowner do a really,.. good, job! #1 – my question – if 3/4 of lesbians are obese, how does that compare to the rest of the female population? I know not all obese women have low self-esteem but there is a lot of evidence that points to obese women having emotional problems leading to low self-esteem. Are the causes the same in lesbians and non-lesbians? There are too many unknowns to simply look at why lesbians are generally obese when gay men are not.

I am going to take the “reins” from M.D. on this subject. I am his senior and probably more mouthy. He may or may not take this down.
We here at The Survivalistblog.net are not “homophobes”. And we are not haters. We do not agree with certain things that are going on in this world to it’s determent.
We cannot all be “equal” even thuough the “Constitution” say we are.
Example:
We have the very rich, the rich, the middle class, the poor and the destitute. Even when it is our countries law there is no way to make everyone equal. We live in a country where we do have the ability to rise above our so called slot in life. But that does not mean we give someone elses status in life to someone that does not deserve it. The person with the gold should take it upon “HIMSELF” to help his fellow man.
But in the last 5 decades we have seen not only the idea that all should be serfs, and the few over them, we have seen the very fabric of our country being shredded by factions that are really not what we base our life on. Some of these actions were considered good. But they have brought nothing but heartache and confusion to us as a country.
I do not hate Obama. But will definitly consider it as so if he brings this country down and/or rises against it’s people.
The subject of “homophobe” Is not even revelant to anything a prepper does. Most of us are to busy trying to prep for our families and living our lives the best we can.
To not like the way a person lives is far from “HATE”. I don’t liike wife nor child beaters, I do not like dog kickers, I do not like drunks, etc. I pray for them and hope they can change their lives before they have to pay for it in some drastic measure.
If one cannot or will not sanction the lifestyle of the gay life it does not mean they are hater’s of the person.

I read this blog every day. I haven’t posted in some time because I haven’t had a lot of time to sit down and really put thoughtful things into written form. But I did want to say in regard to some reactions to #1 I am disappointed with some of the disparaging remarks about not only lesbians but overweight people. You can disagree with someones lifestyle and you can not find people attractive, that is your right, but to be so rude about that lifestyle or look is reprehensible. We have been talking about how narrow minded and off base the media and some liberal are about the prepping/survivalist lifestyle. How we don’t want to be lumped with the crazies. How our gun ownership doesn’t make us terrorists. But then we have some of our very own come out and put down people and be what we all hate for others to be towards us! I think spending the money on that study is insane and a complete waste, but let’s leave the personal feelings about the choices people make for their lives out of it. We are a large group of great and accepting people, let’s not fall into the pigeonhole that some have tried to put us in by bringing such negativity into our conversation. We aren’t going to change peoples hearts and minds about a wasteful goverment by giving them ammuniton to fire back at us. Having someone see some of the comments that were made will do nothing but further perception that preppers/survivalist/conservatives/libertarians/republicans or whatever you are, are bigots and hate filled….even though we are not.

These will increase more in value than nickels.

#6 Donna, someone in 1962 could have said the same thing about quarters. What do you pay for a 90% quarter today. Also there is almost NO DOWNSIDE Did you buy gold at $1800 silver at $40, if not great for you, but some did. Isn’t there some possibility that gold and silver will drop significantly (hey I have them and am thinking of getting more, but I also know there is some downside risk). A nickel will always be worth $.05.
Finally, how much commission do you give metals dealers? When $1.99 is a good deal on silver dollars you are paying about 7% just for the privilege of buying “money”. No commission on nickels.
Donna, I’m no big nickel guy, I only have what is in my change bowl, but I don’t act so superior as to know what will and what won’t increase in value in the future.

Oh, and let me say about about homosexuality and choice. Our best scientific data suggest that sexual orientation is not a choice. You can, in fact, create lesbian hamsters in a lab. Here’s how: you prenatally remove the ovaries from the female hamsters. Then after the hamsters are born and reach physical maturity, you inject testosterone into their contra lateral pre-optic portion of their temporal lobe. The female hamsters will then display mounting behavior, the characteristic sexual behavior of male hamsters.
The same works in reverse for creating homosexual male hamsters. You would prenatally castrate them. Wait until they are born and reach physical maturity. Then inject estrogen into their contra lateral pre-optic portion of their temporal lobe. As a result, the male hamsters will display lardosing behavior (sticking their butts in the air, waiting to be mounted). This is the characteristic sexual behavior of the female hamster.

Sometimes I wonder if all the soy that is now in so many foods has anything to do with males becoming homosexual. The body treats soy as estrogen. Hmmmm. Maybe Obumer should have a study on THAT….

Yes, being left handed is like having a learning disability. You get special treatment because you’re different. LOL (Seriously, I’ve had students tell me they get $500 per year because of the left-handedness disability.)

I just took the time to watch Glenn Beck’s Episode #1 “For the Record” regarding the NSA and unconstitutional data collection. Of note? Out of all the NSA employees and those 100,000 s of others involved since the day after 911, there were only 5 whistle blowers. All of which were intimidated, visited by FBI without warrants, and one the Feds attempted to try and lost Big Time. Despite that warrantless data collection is in progress and will be even more so when the Utah facility opens up in the fall of 2013. If you get a chance to watch it? It will probably shock you. It is chilling!

And they wonder why the govt is broke. It’s paying for stupid shit like this. We are being forced to take furlough days and they are throwing around money like it grows on trees. Hell… three quarters of the American population is very fat or obese. I don’t need a 1.5 million dollar study to tell me why Im fat. I already know. Use that money to pay off our debt and balance the budget. Sheesh.

I haven’t pissed off anyone today (been kind of a slow day)… so lets see if I can do it now considering all the talk in the comments.
If you’re a Lezzy… I don’t care. If you’re gay… I don’t care. It is your right to choose how you want to live your life. It is NOT my right to tell you how to live your life. One of my co-workers is a lezzy and we have had some very interesting conversations. I don’t hate her for her lifestyle choice.. hell… I envy her. She can get women easier than I can…. and I’m a guy. LOL
Some will say it’s immoral or against god or whatever. Once again… not my call. As long as they (lezzy’s or gays) aren’t hurting anyone else… why do we care? It is their life… let them live it.
Point being… whether you agree with it or not… you have to protect their rights otherwise your rights could be the next ones on the chopping block. If you’re unwilling to protect their rights to live their lives as they see fit… then you’re a hyprocrite when you start crying about your rights to live your life as you see fit.

The flaw in your theory, SW, is that Christians choosing to live a lifestyle according to the right and wrong of the Bible, are condemned already – we see it every day. I have no problem letting the gay community live as they wish ~ as long as I may live as I wish according to the morality of the Bible. I am sick and tired of being bashed because I have certain standards that gays and other liberals do not like and want to condemn me and take away MY rights to live as I choose. Why is it they cannot accept other people having different beliefs than they do? I do not stand on a soapbox spouting off why they are wrong; yet I am condemned because I say I am a Christian.
The liberals will not be happy until every ‘conservative’ is smashed down and crushed. You talk about intolerance!
