Thursday Miscellany

1. Tennessee Joins States Restricting Drone Flights, Citing Fourth Amendment – “Last week, Tennessee became the latest state to pass legislation limiting unmanned aerial drone flights in its territory. Governor Bill Haslam signed the Freedom of Unwarranted Surveillance Act into law making it the fifth state to have passed legislation restricting drone surveillance by police and federal agencies.”

2. Russia sending warships to the Mediterranean : “Russia will “over the next few days” be sending an anti-submarine ship and a missile cruiser to the Mediterranean as the West prepares for possible strikes against Syria, the Interfax news agency said on Thursday.”

3. Gun-toting, foul-mouthed Pa. chief won’t back down : “Police Chief Mark Kessler expects to be fired for posting incendiary videos in which he ranted obscenely about the Second Amendment and liberals while spraying machine-gun fire.”

4. The funny : Obama Dubbed “Walking Eagle” By Native Americans – Although President Obama was vague about the details of his plans, he seemed most enthusiastic and spoke eloquently about his ideas for helping his “red sisters and brothers.” Be sure to read the punch line…

5. An easy way to send encrypted emails using Gmail – SecureGmail encrypts and decrypts emails you send in Gmail. This happens all on your machine, and the unencrypted text never reaches Google servers. This is useful if you don’t want anyone but the intended recipient to ever read your email (i.e. companies, governments, etc.)

6. JIM ROGERS: FINANCIAL CALAMITY IS COMING, THEY’RE GOING TO TAKE OUR BANK & RETIREMENT ACCOUNTS! – Famed investor Jim Rogers says, “This is the first time in recorded history all the banks are printing money at the same time. This is the first time we’ve had massive debasement, and it’s going to end very badly no matter what they say.”

russian news reports putin said obama was a “monkey with a grenade.”….two groups of campers in a kali park got to shooting at each other. when the cops arrived they found both parties were l.a. county deputies. for once, they were arrested and will likely get fired……aweful lot of “chatter” on the net about something significant on or about october 1st. i’m ramping up a notch myself, keeping everything topped off…. oh, scrolling across the bottom of good morning america: bloomberg put mosques on the terror watch list, so now they can be “survailed without a warrant.” clearly, new york city has seceded from the union and is no longer bound by the CONSTITUTION. and he’s jockeying for a run at prez… not of my union. stay frosty folks.

    • riverrider says:

sorry ghost. just read your comment on weds misc. didn’t mean to step on your parade ref the putin bad.

      • riverrider says:

oh and all this mlk “i have a dream” stuff……i think the dream has been realized. they ARE being judged by the content of their character and many have been found lacking. the rest need to give those lacking a swift kick in the ass and tell them to get with the program.

      • No problem River, it’s just as funny the second time!

  2. I would like to address the coming war. First off, this is a war for control of the Middle East. Either Russia thru Iran/Syria will, or America will thru Egypt/Turkey/Saudi Arabia. Either side can not afford to back off.

Secondly BOTH SIDES are backing a sect of Islam, Putin is backing the Shites of Iran and the U.S. the Sunni’s of Saudi Arabia, and the Muslim Brotherhood. Frankly as a Christian, I’m sickened by this.

Some have said that Putin is the “good guy” because he is White. Need I remind you that so was Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, and Castro. Also, Biden, Pelosi, Durbin, Hill/Bill Clinton, and John Kerry are White.
Is Col. Allen West a bad guy because he is Black?

Thirdly, the chances are VERY HIGH that this is going to happen. Prepare accordingly. “Trust in The Lord, in all of your ways, and lean not on your own understanding”.

    • riverrider says:

roger that! obama is just a puppet to the ptb anyway. this is about making money and protecting that money stream.

      • Amazingly… No one is actually positive that Assad is responsible for the attack. In fact… It is hard to believe that after 2 years of killing tens of thousands of his citizens, indiscriminately… as long as he didn’t cross Obama’s red line with chemical weapons… that he would all of a sudden, decide to use them?

After watching that rebel cut out his enemy’s organs, and then eat them… It is entirely plausible that they might also kill a few hundred citizens and make it look like Assad did it, in order to get the weapons they want from Obama.

    • If both China and Russia get involved directly against the US ………we will be defeated . Either one on their own could not do it , we could defeat Russia by herself , China by herself , the best we could do is a stalemate and could probaly force them into peace negotiations . Russia did a study on China during the cold war , and the results were that even if Ivan fired every nuke they had at China , they would still be in Moscow in less than 6 months . Their population is just too great . Our geography is one of our allies , we are hard to get to without forewarning . Another factor is that we dont have the will as a people at this time to win a war of that magnitude , we are not the same people that marched off to WW2 , when you start up the draft with the kids we have today ……good luck . Thats the one thing that Liberals ARE good for , protesting , and organizing anti war , refusing to go . Plus , where are we going to get the money to fund it ? pull it out of our ass ? we dont have it , we dont have the industry , we have outsourced it remember ? In WW2 , we DID have industry at home , and even so , it took 3 years to get it up to full bore production . Then you toss in modern things like chemical / biological warfare , electronic warfare ( We probably have a huge advantage in electronic warfare ) . Then the unavoidable shortages and discontent that follows . Bottom line , NOBODY is going to “win” if there is a WW3 . Is Syria that important considering ? you cant tell me that it is . It will be the end of this nation if it goes full WW3, I myself dont think that is a fair price to pay for ANY situation . Not like we dont have our fair share of the pie over there . Thats another thing , it gets sticky and convoluted real fast when you stop doing things the Constitutional way , its like a liar trying to frantically keep track of all the BS he has said , after awhile it fails . Every place we have gone without a constitutional declaration of war has rarely turned out good for us long term . You only need to go around the constitution if your cause is not legitimate . Just like search warrants . Your right , trust in the lord , thats all the guy on the street has to lean on at this point . Just sayin .

      • axelsteve says:

Tolic. We have fought Russia and China in the past. We fought them indirectly and directly in Vietnam.

        • We lost vietnam …………anything but absolute victory is a defeat .

        • I believe , that Russia and China were giving military aid to many of the nations we fought . We do the same with nations we support , that is much , much different than fighting that nation in an all out conflict with their regular forces . If you look at the Korean “conflict ” ( we never declared war on anybody …and we did not win that one either ) , we were very successful against the North Koreans , pushing them back to the Chinese border , Then China got directly involved with their regular forces , when that happened , we found ourselves in headlong retreat back to the present day border . An enemy with that kind of numbers can overrun an enemy on the ground rather quickly , the Germans learned this the hard way in WW2 on the eastern front . When the Russian steamroller finally got itself moving , they got literally run over . The Soviets could afford the losses in manpower , the Germans could not . Same thing happened to us in Korea , we had to pull back or get annihilated . I have to agree with him , syria is not worth it . Personally , I dont think it will go farther than the usual posturing and possible skirmish . They have a lot to loose as well . Either way I think we need to stop being the world policeman .

in case you didn’t open the link…un inspector says she thinks rebels did the chemical attack, not assad. this morning tdl says “regardless of what the un inspection reports, we have classified info that assad did it”….umm, benghazi was just a demonstration too i guess? what a joke. can you say “iraq has weapons of mass destruction”? sound familiar?

  4. #1.Good for TN !!!
#2. The best thing that could happen to us is for us to get our ass kicked , and kicked HARD . We have been too big for our britches for too long , we need a good solid defeat . Go back to isolationism . One by themselves could not do it , but with both ( Russia & China ) , yes .
#3. This guy is part of the problem , he also lives in the wrong part of the country for a crusade of this type . Read more about his other activities .
#4. ” Lying Negro ” would be more suited .
#6. All the members of my family have taken out their money from their accounts except for just enough to pay regular bills……..the rest is cash and carry . They cant steal what isnt in an account .

  5. With the inspectors leaving Syria on Saturday, this could be an interesting weekend.

Question: If we shoot missiles into a country that has not shot at us, or our soldiers, isn’t that declaring war without a declaration?

    • Its called being a Bully , the biggest favor you can do for a bully , is to get a few guys together and beat him to an inch of his life ……..because thats the only thing he respects and understands .

    • When Hamas (or add whatever group name you desire here) shoots missiles into Israel it’s called terrorism. If the US government does it it’s called “foreign policy”….lol.

  6. In regards to the Bank and Investment account article… I’m not sure I’d believe anything he says. The article starts off with a bold face lie

“This is the first time in recorded history all the banks are printing money at the same time.

The BANKS don’t print money… so they all can’t be printing at the same time.

As for them taking my bank account… they aint getting much. I’m constantly living paycheck to paycheck.

    • Most of America is brother .

    • Donna in MN says:

I think it be a misprint by the article’s author and when other’s copy it from website to website, it repeats the mistake –This is the first time in recorded history all the CENTRAL banks are printing money against gold.his is from UTube web sites on the video.

The Central Bank in this country is the Federal Reserve Bank. Japan’s Central Bank is printing money and so are many big Central banks globally.

  7. Speaking of Tenn, has a video called “5 things in Dave Ramsey’s wallet.” His wallet has the usual cash, 2 debit cards, drivers lic., & handgun carry permit. Yes, Dave Ramsey is a concealed carry guy!! I always knew there was a reason I liked that guy with the silly grin!

  8. My house is spotless. I mean spotless. I even hand scrubbed floors, washed walls, took a toothbrush to the counters. Relevence? Burning off a lot of nervous energy.

    • riverrider says:

right there with you…gas went up 15 cents today here.grrrr.

      • Went up 20 cents here yesterday–before I had time to fill up.

      • Rr, I told the dh to go gas up the vehicles. He just rolled his eyes. Prices havent jumped at our local station yet, but I am hoping he sees it around town today so he will get us to the gas pump to fill up before our price rises.

        • riverrider says:

i filled all my cans, that were empty from grass cutting, and the truck two days ago before the spike. i’m sure theres more to come.

      • Keeping it topped off at all times. I told DW that if she was below a quarter of a tank pull into the local gas station and fill up. We are in full on contact mode with all movement being planned and contengencies for regrouping discussed before hand.

    • Schatzie Ohio says:

TG, can you come to my house – it could use some hand scrubbing……Ok, maybe a lot of hand scrubbing. 🙂 I am afraid that I don’t have much in the way of nervous energy or any energy at all right now.

      • Schatzie, lol. I get to reading news articles then start getting antsy. It is either I scrub or I pull my hair out. I would rather be at the store buying them out of whatever I can afford but the dh cut me off saying I have been buying too much ‘junk.’

  9. In regards to #3:
Obama offers new gun control steps
Striving to take action where Congress would not, the Obama administration announced new steps Thursday on gun control, curbing the import of military surplus weapons and proposing to close a little-known loophole that lets felons and others circumvent background checks by registering guns to corporations.

Four months after a gun control drive collapsed spectacularly in the Senate, President Barack Obama added two more executive actions to a list of 23 steps the White House determined Obama could take on his own to reduce gun violence.

    and yet in other news:

Harvard study shows gun control doesn’t save Lives

  10. While it sure is funny, snopes says the “walking eagle” story has been around since at least 2004, and has been applied to many different politicians. Here’s the link:

  12. Doris Jones says:

Has anyone else read the proposed new “guidelines” for Facebook?
I went to their site and read the “documents” as they are asking for all the people on Facebook to “let them know what they think” and “what they want.” The new proposals read like a total crackdown on freedom of speech!(And they did not make it easy to find nor locate the actual information either.)

They have items that say “no harassment” and “no hate speech” and many other phrases that are subjective and open to interpretation. Looks like the government wrote it. Unbelievable stuff.

My concern is that ALL the web is going to be run under these new “rules”. I did notice that the feedback in comments was totally negative and everyone was saying “DO not use my information” “Do NOT invade my privacy” and so forth.

These new rules, if adopted–they are only proposed at this point–will interfere with freedom of speech, not allow you any rights to your photos or other items and I will NOT be on Facebook at all nor any
other location with these repressive rules because they can use the
phrase “hate speech” to cover most anything. Facebook stands to lose a LOT of customers (and advertisers) if they continue in this path.
DO go read the new proposed rules–it will blow your mind.

    • Not picking on you personally Doris but as I’ve said what seems like a million times, anyone foolish enough to use Facebook (or any other social media site) deserves everything they get.

      • Not only that , but a study was made few years back about FB , it said that at any given time , there were upwards of 15% of users are on-line predators . This information was figured in part by police stings of child molesters . Its an electronic garbage can .

        • Doris Jones says:

Probably time that FB got into the “electronic garbage can” and we closed the lid on them anyway.

          • I look at it as a diversion away from us , I want it to thrive , that way the Gestapo has to devote time , money and resources to monitor it . With it gone , that would free up those things and they would be able to be even more intrusive with spying .

      • Doris Jones says:

I agree with you. I do not post on facebook etc. Just use it to stay in touch with some grandchildren who are in distant states and sometimes other countries. Now I won’t even do that.

ALL the social media sites are compromised, but these new guidelines have some things that suggest you could even be prosecuted for something very simple that is not illegal. Just someone’s point of view. My point in posting this info. was that I think the government intends to crack down on ANY communication on the web. It sure sounded that way. That could mean US, the Wolf Pack, right here. Hope it doesn’t happen because I can’t see M. D. agreeing to the documents that they have proposed on FB. (I did not go into all the weird
stuff they were saying they were going to require.) I am also going to check on what the other social sites are proposing. If they ALL are doing similar things–then I will know it comes from the government.

    • Donna in MN says:

I never used FB, but all my relatives and most my old friends use it every hour to every 10 minutes. They have lost their “real lives” to a virtual world and obcession/addiction to FB. I saw their addiction and lack of a real life as something I didn’t want.

When my mother passed last spring, (a wonderful woman who had relationships with my friends), no one sent a card, no one sent an email, or called me for condolences in my grief for the loss of my best friend. They spent five seconds to send my daughter “condolences” on FB.

I see the results what FB, texting and tweets have done to our population. It hits home. At our family lake cabin vacation last week, all my relatives were too involved posting and texting to do much in activities. Before FB, we used to go berry picking, crafting birch bark baskets, play music and scrabble, go on walks, visit our neighbor relatives at their cabins, go fishing and swimming, collect driftwood, build campfires and roast smores, weinies and marshmellos, etc. but now they sit inside the cabin and post to their friends on FB. No wonder they got fatter, know nothing what is going on in the world, and won’t experience a real vacation. These are 25 to 42 year old relatives. When I bring up current event news and prepping they ho-hum and say I am boring. (Probably because I didn’t get drunk and make out with my neices with funny photos posted on FB.) THIS IS the next generation….

  13. worrisome says:

Facebook is losing its base. People are already not willing to say what they think on there because it is so well known that the FBI, CIA, NSA and all the other Federal Alphabets are out there gleaning it for some perceived subversion. Unfortunately, if you use someone’s site, be it Facebook or others, they make the rules……….you abide or you don’t.

    • Doris Jones says:

Yes, Facebook is losing it’s base and will lose even more. It is said that almost all the social sites are all compromised. You are very correct in if you use sites, “they make the rules” and I can make the choice to use it at all or not. And “NOT” is my choice. As I stated above, I only used FB to stay in touch with some distant grandchildren since they requested it. Oh well, I will find other ways as we made out fine before FB and can again.

  14. The S has HTF here. At least on a small local scale. I live out in the country on a gravel road. In the past couple of days at least 5 houses have been hit on my gravel road.

If you go off towards the west you have my parents (on the same 20 acres I am on) then my cousin (1/8 mile further down) which got hit. The next house down also got hit. Couple houses past that one got hit. To the east of me a couple houses down got hit. She is an older lady and I grew up spending as much time at her house as I did my own. She had three daughters and we were always out playing. (her grand-babies live with her… so I’m sure they are scared) While my sister doesn’t live on this road… she also got hit and my little niece (12yrs old) came home from school to find the door kicked in. Both of my nieces are now scared and the oldest (12) wont even sleep in her own room cause it’s closest to the door that got booted.

I went over to my folks yesterday and dad was in a locked house packin’ heat. These folks are brazen. My neighbor to the east always has cars parked there so either they don’t care if someones home or they are really casing the places (luckily her and my kin wasn’t home at the time of it). I know my sister was busted into during the middle of the day.

The part that pisses me off the most is the mental trauma to my little nieces and the fact that now both my parents feel they must be carrying inside their own house.

I’ll be going tomarrow to buy two steel security doors for my house. While my dogs are a pretty good deterrent (especially since one doesn’t play well with strangers)… I figure if she is doing her part to keep my stuff safe, then so should I.

Sad thing is.. now my paranoia of always having my doors locked (since Im a LEO) doesn’t seem so strange to my folks.

    • Donna in MN says:

Looks like your area needs a stakeout to catch these criminals.

A large watch dog helps deter house breakins. I have NEVER heard of a break-in from strangers when one or more grown German Shepherds, Rottweillers or Doberman Pinchers are barking in the home and seen in the window. MY GSD Justus is the largest of his kind at 33″ at the shoulder and 130 lbs and he keeps people at bay looking out the picture window as he barks.

I used to have 6 of them barking at the window, but 5 have passed since then. That was when vet care and food was affordable.
