trayvon martin’s mother asked fla to relook the syg law. so i’m supposed to lay there and get beat to death by her “child”. then they throw his wife in jail on bs charges. wth? that money they are accused of lieing about wasn’t in their account at the time of the bail hearing, it was in a donation holding account for his defense. so i guess you’re supposed to give up every dime of your possible defense for bail, garranteeing a conviction. i’m almost looking forward to the collapse so we’ll be rid of these jackwagons. if they live thru it i bet they’ll sing a dif tune on self defense, and a lot of other things as well. notice i said “almost” before you start screaming bloody murder that i want people to die.

    • There has a been a lot of stories on the local news of you thugs getting their due ( a bullet to parts of their body) around here. It always amazes me how when they interview the “mother” of this fine young drug user/pusher, thief, robber , gang banger they always tell you what a “good boy” he is/was. If he was that good he would not have been shot while stealing, robbing, or dealing drugs!!!!! I guess some people just raise their kids different.

In a side note they did get it right in St. Louis when a 60′ something man shot the biker that chased him down and then punched him thru the window of his car for a road rage incedent. No charges filed he was simply defending himself, may have helped that he shot him in the leg and not the head so the biker did survive and will sure think twice before he chases down someone and assaults them.

This Civil Rights Commission hearing is nothing more than cover for this government to eliminate the right to self-defense. They have been looking for the right case, and Martin fit the bill to some extent. Of course, the criminals in the media jumped in there and misled the American people from the very start, and continue to do so.

As for the white/black thing, blacks are way more likely to attack whites than vice versa, so common sense would tell you that more blacks would be killed in self-defense by whites. This is the elephant in the room no one will talk about. Percentage wise, more blacks are criminals, more blacks are violent criminals. One can argue the reasons for it, but the facts speak for themselves. Of course, don’t expect to hear that truth from the media. They do everything they can to hide it. And skew it. And ouright lie about it.

    • What saddens me the most about the Trayvon Martin case is that his parents lack emotion all together. As a mother, I would be a wreck knowing that my child was gone. His mother seems to be more concerned about how she is going to make money off of this.

      • I also just wanted to point out that I don’t support Martin or his family and I do believe Zimmerman was acting in defense but I’m just saying in general his parents act as if the only important issues here are ensuring people cannot defend themselves and calling for Zimmerman to be charged for a “hate crime.”

      • If I remember right the biggest factor in the mortality of young black males is , Now wait for it———————–
other YOUNG BLACK MALES!!!! They seem to think shooting each other is the way to handle things. Might be why blacks make up 12% or so of the population but over 50% of the population in the jails and prisons. And yes some are wrongfully convicted but they are still there because someone else that resembles them actually did the crime.

I was at a show in Tampa a couple of weeks ago and several sheriffs, former sheriffs running for sheriff again and several state legislatures all said they were going to fight to keep Stand your ground on the books in florida.

  2. I always get the biggest kick out of guys being weird about buying tampons. Seriously, who would think they were for you? Everyone knows you are buying them for someone else.

    • tommy2rs says:

It’s never bothered me to buy them. Only thing that aggravated me was the failure of the parties affected to plan for something that happened every single month.

    • axelsteve says:

Michele. I buy them but I learned the hard way that you do not buy them for gifts. It did not go over well.

any news on the european front? i hear the drumbeats calling for “intervention” in syria. thats all well and good until you realize russia and china are jockeying for control there as a passage to iran and the rest of the mideast as well. its like we’re living in a good apocalyptic fiction book. you couldn’t write it any better than this. maybe we are just characters in god’s daydream that he’s getting bored with and is rushing the ending so he can get on to other stuff. finally a physicist came out with my theory that we are all but a part of one giant living organism, from atoms to universes, riding a giant but tiny electron around the nucleus sun, the horton hears a who theory i call it…..in other news, spaceweather.com estimates 40% chance of a decent class m solar flare today. use extra sunscreen :)

    • village idiot says:

The news on the European front is all bad, river. The Austrian finance minister got in trouble yesterday for saying the Italians need a bailout, and the Germans say it today. The Italian PM called a cabinet meeting this morning, and said reforms have to be made post haste. Their bonds have spiked over 6% and Spain’s bonds are over that rate also. And then there is that little election this weekend in Greece.

And the Germans will require the other members of the EU monetary union to give up sovereignty if they want German money. Germany may conquer the rest of Europe without firing a shot.

      • riverrider says:

i heard the talking heads say this morning the markets were bouyed by the hint of quantitative easing coming? where did those yoyos go to econ class at? good thing i’m too broke to have money in the market anymore :) is it time to bite the bullet and buy all of the “last minute” preps?

  4. stillwater says:

    Hi,
Sorry if it’s been covered already, or posted in the wrong area…but does anyone have a suggestion about a personal security weapon, if a firearm is not legally obtainable? Very new to prepping, this is my biggest roadblock (speed bump) by far. Thanks so much for all of the great info, I’ve learned much already!
    S

    • Carl in W.V. says:

I don’t know if you mean by not legally obtainable means criminal back ground or region you live in. If it is your background I firmly believe you still have a right to defend yourself and I would recomend you look online for black powder pistols which are very powerful weapons they are just slower to load so buy two and you can order without a background check. If you are in the US you may still be able to get those in chicago and newyork city. goodluck to you. I really think the time is getting near so prep Quickly

      • stillwater says:

Thanks Carl. It’s not a criminal record thing, or a regional thing, in fact it’s very easy to get firearms here neighbor, I guess just not so easy for people who have ever had any emotional issues in their past that required a doctors care? :/

Check out pyro-technically propelled pepper spray devices.
      http://www.kimberamerica.com/pepperblaster
as available from Kimber. I almost had to kill some young ‘high’ men a few years ago and afterwards, picked up these which were then called Guardians. Gives you a powerful ergonomically pointable less than lethal device. Slips in your pocket, easy to carry and hard to spray yourself as with other systems.
Still not permitted l in NYC and Chicago but hey……
Collapsible batons can give you an edge.

Look in the survivalistblog.net’s archives and read a few of MD’s articles about this subject. The archive is an invaluable resource.

      • stillwater says:

Dan, that looks great, thanks. Been reading archives, books, real news articles, took an intensive gardening workshop/started garden. Trying to educate myself. Trying to ‘catch up’ and prep…FAST. This blog and community is a blessing! Thanks to all!

        • SurvivorDan says:

Welcome stillwater! Prep fast or prep slow but prep steady. You’ll get there. Get MD’s book, “31 days to survival”. A must read for the new survivor. Heck, it’s just a must read for everyone. I just bought it for my daughter and after leafing through it, decided that I won’t give it to her until I finish it.

          • stillwater says:

LOL! Just ordered both of MD’s books, as well as a few others…I’d probably have to strap my daughter to a chair to get her to read ANYTHING to do with prepping…I get the eye rolls and amused looks from my tribe, so I’m prepping for us all, and trying to learn all I can, and it’s SO true, education DOES replace fear! Thanks again!

  5. JP in MT says:

I don’t understand why “stand your ground” is such a problem. All you have to do is not be a punk to people, coming on in a threatening manner, and trying to see if you can put fear into people, then you won’t have people trying to put a hole in you someplace vital.

What I’m hearing is that this kind of a behavior should be tolerated by people of a certain race when practiced by people of another race.

Personally, I don’t intimidate well, so it hasn’t been an issue for me.

    • riverrider says:

yeah but you live in montana! last time i was there people still treated each other with respect, or they answered for it. not here on the ec.

      • JP in MT says:

I do now. I spend 9 of my 20 in the Army in “the Peoples Democratic Republic of Massachusetts”. 10 of the rest overseas. When you start shoving a large amount of rats into a small space they get nasty.

That’s WHY I live in Montana now. We have just about 1 Million people in the 4th largest state in the US. And I’m looking for a new house/property with more space than I currently have.

        • Last time powerball got up over 250 mil I looked on the internet for ranches in MT and found one at 100,000 acre for $26 mil , if I would have won would have been on the phone the next day to set up a meeting and buy my plane ticket. A cabin in the middle of 100,000 acres would be my kind of space. Might have been your neighbor Jp if you were within 10-15 miles one way or the other.

          • JP in MT says:

A few years ago, there was 6 sections (@ 600 acres each) for sale for about $3.5 M. I figured I could get lost in the middle of that.

You can get a good deal now a day for under $1 M.

    • axelsteve says:

Amen JP!! Trevon could have just gone home when Zimmerman was following him. Trevon could have gone home and called the cops and said a white guy was following me.Trevon acted the criminal.I do not intimidate well either but I am kinda big and I don`t smile allot so people seldom pick me out to screw with me

  6. Bam Bam says:

I came across an interesting article about conditions in Greece. The first talks more about shortages of medicine in Greece and about how a mental asylum has run out of food to feed its patients. The second is about food stockpiling.

    • Scary articles, Bam Bam! I bet you won’t find many Greeks calling preppers crazy.

  7. Hey M.D. – In case you want to share with your readers, a company called Marstar has what I think is a really good deal. A Chinese military SKS in brand new condition + 1400 rounds of ammo for $360. I think they can only sell to Canada but still a good deal for Canadian readers: http://www.marstar.ca/dynamic/product.jsp?productid=74819

    • SurvivorDan says:

Wow! Anybody deal with Marstar? Is this for real. The last thing I need is another weapon but…….tempting.

      • Bam Bam says:

Has anyone actually ordered from this company? This sounds too good to be true. And I thought Canadians had to get all kinds of permits to get a gun.

        • Yea the problem for Americans is that there is some sort of embargo on Chinese made weapons being sold into America. As well, I understand guns and ammo do not cross the border well which is why as much as I wish I could, I cannot order guns from the states.

As far as permits etc – the SKS is listed as a non-restricted long gun so yea, it’s easy to get as long as you have your PAL (purchase and acquisition license).

The regular price for the gun without the ammo is $199. I think they have an absolute boatload of them which is why they are offering this deal.

The ammo is military surplus too – I’m not sure how dirty it is but my understanding is the SKS is pretty forgiving when it comes to that stuff.

  8. SurvivorDan says:

    Oh…only Canadians?

  9. riverrider says:

grrr, more amateur hour from washington. secstate hillary publicly bashing the russians about arms to syria. wrong on so many levels. first this proves she/they know nothing about international diplomacy. you NEVER criticise in the media. two, if you break rule one, it better be the president talking and it better be something horrific like hitler’s extermination camps. its easy to see what they are doing. they are trying to set hillary up as a great statesman. she was smiling thru the whole speech, wth? thirdly, they don’t know russian culture at all. putin is in the midst of bringing russia back to the first world. they are a proud people. they can attack each other, but you better keep out of it. fourth, the helos have been old news for months. only reason to bring it up now is to try to embarrass the russians into pulling support from assad. russians don’t work that way. they’ll ship 50 more today and send hillary pictures with a note saying “now what?” amateur hour continues, all for hillary’s glory. these yoyos will stop at nothing.
