What did you do to prep this week?

by M.D. Creekmore on August 1, 2009

I can’t believe a week has passed since we last pondered this question – ” What did you do to prep this week?” How time fly’s when you’re waiting for the end of the world; or should I say ” the end of the world as we know it”.

I love this thread. I keep a small note pad in the drawer beside my bed – every night before turning out the light, I take out paper and pen to write down everything I accomplished during the day regarding my preps. By the end of the week I usually have a pretty good list.

Lets see where should I start? Ordered ten Victor #110 Conibear TrapsSurvival Trapping these things are great for catching small game. One of my favorite techniques is to set the trap on a limb where squirrel have been running. Very effective.

Canned ten quarts of green beans and twelve of corn (cream style) dried a bushel of apples picked from the trees at an old home place about three mile from where I live. Free food – I love it.

Made a new friend, a Chihuahua that I found beside the road. Someone just dumped her out and drove off. I bought a collar and wormed her. In a few days I’m going to take her to the vet for a check-up and vaccinations. Good little dog that found a home.

Put back another 500 round pack of Winchester Power point for the .22′s and two fifteen round boxes of 00-buck for the 12-gauge. Was going to get a few more boxes of the white box 9mm from Wal-Mart but they were sold out – again. Been looking into reloading.

Well that covers the highlights of my week. What did you do to prep this week?
