Advice on Relocation
I love your site and am thinking of relocating somewhere but want to know what the best, safest place would be when the depression and martial law occurs? Also, I am considering some place in Mex., Central, or South America. Any suggestions are appreciated.
God bless you. Kadman

This is the most common question asked by readers of Survivalist Blog. Where is the “perfect place” to relocate and set up a survival retreat, and while I hate to say it; the truth is there is no perfect place, one that will shield you from all possible threats. Granted some places are better than others, some being much better. But trying to find the “ideal location” to avoid any possible threat is a futile endeavor.
My advice is to get out of the major population areas as soon as possible. Unless you are located in or near one of these areas you might consider staying put, leaving relatives and friends behind to move to a “safer place” my not be the best answer.
Moving to a new location and becoming one with the community takes time. You will be an outsider, which is not a favorable position to be in wtshtf. Having family and friends in your area could be an asset in your survival planning, forming a ready-made retreat group made up of people you know and trust.
I don’t know enough about Mexico, Central, or South America to give any advice in this area. I would appreciate hearing from readers who have located retreats in other countries and what you have learned from your experience.
In some cases, race could become a factor I am sure. Someone of Mexican descent would have a much easier time “blending in” with the locals, while in Mexico, then would a 6’4” white guy.
After considering the possibilities and looking at the threat level where you are now, if you still feel you need to head for safer ground a few areas to consider looking into are; Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, North / South Dakota and Arkansas.
