Green Beans, Potatoes, And Bacon One-Pot-Meal Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 quart green beans
  • ½ pound bacon or more, to taste
  • 6 - 8 potatoes whole
  • 1 tablespoon garlic
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt or to taste
  • 3 tablespoons butter real butter, NOT margarine

Instructions
 

  • Pour the green beans (including the juice) into the pot. A crock pot works well for this recipe also.
  • Wash, and chunk the potatoes.

  • Place the potatoes on top of the green beans in the pot, followed by the butter.
  • Sprinkle the spices on top of the ingredients in the pot.

  • Place the bacon on top of the ingredients already in the pot.

  • Stir all of the ingredients together thoroughly.

  • Bring the green bean, potato, and bacon casserole to a boil for several minutes.
  • Turn the heat down to a simmer for approximately one hour - stir stirring occasionally. If making the one pot survival meal in a crock pot, heat on high for four hours.
